  • Collectable minifig gallery updated with S7 -- and now available in the USA!

Posted by Huw, 15 Apr 2012 05:54. Filed under Brickset.

I've upated the collectable minifig gallery with the series 7 minifigs.

Hopefully I'll find time to add galleries for the Super Heroes and other new themes, and update the others soon too!

It appears that at last, S7 figures are available in the USA: Bastcastle emailed to say "Just picked up all of series 7 collectable minifigs at my local Toys R Us. Is this the first US sighting? They are in South Portland, Maine. Had 6 boxes today." Happy hunting!

Great photography as always. Thanks Huw!

They are also available in the Lego store in Cardiff, UK along with series 6. I also went to WHSmith and they had some series 5,6 and 7.

I can hardly wait until they get released in Canada.

Posted by Bookpodder in United States, 15 Apr 2012 07:27

Funny, I, too, found them at the South Portland, Maine Toys R Us store Saturday night! I told my wife that I hadn't seen mention of them out here in the US yet!

I'd love to be able to sort the gallery page by Series, i.e. instead of them being sorted by Historical, Fantasy, etc. they'd just be shown Series 1, Series 2 and so on.

Great pictures as always Huw! Also, are you going to buy the Comic-Con Super Heroes minifigs to add to the upcoming gallery? (If so, they're crazy money on the net...)

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 15 Apr 2012 08:54

^ Probably not!

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 15 Apr 2012 09:12

This means they may be at the LEGO Store in time for Grand Opening, which I will be there for. I want the computer programmer, since he has some multipurpose clothing. I also like the hippie and galaxy patrol. But slow down, LEGO! I haven't even gotten a Genie or a Roman yet! :-)

Posted by Plasmodium in United Kingdom, 15 Apr 2012 09:54

They look great as always, but I do have some questions about the classification: why is the gorilla-suit guy in 'city' and the other animal suit guys in 'Arts/entertainment' (I just noticed that)? What about making an extra category for national costumes or something, because, somehow, the Eskimo, the bagpiper, the Statue of Liberty, etc don't seem to fit in 'City'. Anyway, it's your website!
But yes, the pictures are brilliant, and so are the minifigs!

Posted by legoguy2805 in United Kingdom, 15 Apr 2012 10:47

@Huw: Haha, I don't blame you! A gallery without them will still be great, I'm sure. Looking forward to it! ^^

I'm still missing six from Series 5 & 6 and already 7 is due to hit store shelves? LEGO is beginning to really push out these CMs, it's getting to the point where you can't even keep up.

Happy hunting all, does this mean we can expect images of S8 in the next month?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 15 Apr 2012 11:42

^ Series 7.5 will be here before that :-)

Posted by Mickitat in Germany, 15 Apr 2012 14:12

I am all with Odeinoichus. If they keep releasing the sets as fast as they are right now, I will stop buying them (in large quantities, that is). I don't want this to turn into another collectible card game catastrohe like MTG did.

They are showing up at all of the Fred Meyer locations in large volume (10-12 boxes) in Portland, OR. I picked up a box and was happy to discover at 10% off coupon in effect for this week. http://instagr.am/p/JctsShGWQk/

I still love them, no matter how fast and/or furious they come. In the absence of a fad, a Magic card is just a printed piece of cardboard, but in the absence of a fad, a minifig is still a minifig.

scooped up the last 8 in a box in North Haven, Ct. didn't even bother to feel the bags :)

Posted by Indy1 in United States, 15 Apr 2012 15:06

Mine here in NY had them, but all the good ones were taken. :(

Actually, her hair is excellent, nice quality plastic and it's long at the back and her fringe sticks out from her forehead.

Posted by (-)-Crushmaster-(-) in United States, 15 Apr 2012 18:50

Urgh...Wish they weren't made in China. :-/ Some of them look interesting besides that...

Posted by wunztwice in United States, 15 Apr 2012 20:09

Fred Meyer stores around Portland, Oregon are starting to put them out on shelves!

Posted by skipper1011 in United States, 15 Apr 2012 21:00

I plan on picking up the entire series by the end of the week... Wish me luck!

Posted by CharlieTheFunEngine in Australia, 16 Apr 2012 03:41

At first I only wanted the Computer Programmer from this series, but after seeing these photos I'll definitely need to pick up the Hippie and the Rocker Girl.

Still a step up over the last three series - the only figs I wanted from Series 4 and 5 were Hazmat Guy and Royal Guard and I didn't want any from Series 6...

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 16 Apr 2012 05:22

I have to say I think the female punk rocker is one of my surprise favourites of s7. The quality seems to have taken a real step up and the hairpiece is fantastic. Though struggling to think of any other use for it!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 16 Apr 2012 06:37

^ Her hair is probably as good as it is because I don't think it's ABS. Chinese made stuff made from other plastics seems to be fine, but it's the ABS they struggle with: torsoes, legs, heads etc.

Can't wait till they show up in Illinois!!!!!

Can't wait till they come to my local TRU

Posted by cjg in United States, 16 Apr 2012 12:42

Huw, I would suggest moving the hippie to the city category. There are still hippies today!

Posted by pstrickler27 in United States, 16 Apr 2012 14:30

Jungle Boy hardly seems like it belongs in City - I would place him in Historical

And I agree with a poster above - Gorilla Suit belongs in Arts/Entertainment.. not City

Posted by White Whale Collectables in Canada, 16 Apr 2012 23:19

They have shown up in Calgary at The Discovery Hut

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 17 Apr 2012 17:45

Thanks to murphquake...I found them at my local TRU (Rego Park Mall, Queens). I have to admit, I feel it's my favorite of the whole series. Great parts for customizing and just overall great characters! Series 6 and 7 really stepped up the creativity.
Got lucky with 16 blind picks (I suck at feelin' out the bags) and got 14 unique...
- The Valkyrie (great look from warrior face to opera singer plus love the helm and nice details on the body and skirt)
- Bunny Suit Guy (Great headgear w/ears and love the little touch on the back showing that puffy tail graphic...;)
- The Bride (I'm guessing her body and skirt are different than the table setting/cake topper Bride figure?)
- Office Dork (love the mug and goofy smile)
- Tennis Pro (always liked the 'Sleepy Boy's' wig. Works real well with this fig. Plus the headband a nice touch and cobalt blue racket).
- 80's Rocker Chick (Hairpiece is great and love the white flying V. Pink lightning bolt on face a nice touch).
- Swim Champ (Great new medal and ribbon piece. Even though simple enough, has a great look plus duel faced).
- Tarzan (You get 2 knives and his trusty chimp sidekick Cheeta).
- The Black Knight (Awesome fig.! Great detailing everywhere. From the Boar Clan I assume...love that shield graphic and his ebony blade!).
- Aztec Warrior (The best head gear of any fig I've seen. Fabulous detailing. Another winner!)
- Space Marine (The hits keep coming. Another great figure. Great dueled face with one having the visor down. Just in love with the armor. This is what's needed for Iron Man. Detailing on the whole figure is fabulous. If they ever do another ADU or Space Police...this is the prototype!)
- Evil Kenival (Patriotic jump suit and helmet are excellent plus duel faced)
- Little Red Riding Hood (the cutest figure and love the new basket).
- Scottic Bagpiper (Another excellent figure with detail and great accessories. Well detailed bagpipe!)

Just missing King Neptune and the Hippie. Not bad for a blind pull (pattin' my self on the back). I had a little help from my boy...;)

Great series 7!

Series 7 has come to TRU in AZ, got 12 out of 16, plus the ones my boys wanted! Yay!!!

Posted by doodlebird in United States, 18 Apr 2012 02:55

found at TRU in south austin tx. encountered a fellow AFOL feeling bags. didn't have time to feel bags as my boy was about to have a bathroom emergency... took care of that, then the 3 yr old girl starts her meltdown, so we grabbed a few and headed out. no repeats. woohoo!

Posted by murphquake in United States, 18 Apr 2012 08:36

@legodad the first one I got out of the box when it was opened was the hippie... he's awesome... I did pretty good for feeling out a new set 3/3 of the ones I took and pretty sure that I would have been right for the other 20 i felt through. Will be completing the set the next few days if I have any free time... I'm a busy medic this month =-) -bill

Based on the dozen stores and almost a hundred boxes I have manually gone through, the US Box Distribution seems to be the following:
3x - Aztec Warrior, Bride, Bunny Suit Guy, Grandma Visitor, Ocean King, Rocker Girl, Swimming Champion
4x - Bagpiper, Computer Programmer, Daredevil, Hippie,Tennis Ace, Viking Woman
5x - Evil Knight, Galaxy Patrol, Jungle Boy

I bought 6 series 7 minifigs at the South Portland, ME Toys R Us! They don't have them at the Bangor TRU yet.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 23 Apr 2012 19:22

I picked up some at TRU in Phoenix AZ near Arrowhead mall. I have an extra hippie, dare devil and Tarzan. I need a Grandma's visitor and female rocker if anyone wants to trade.

Posted by blomper in United States, 24 Apr 2012 19:41

All the TRU's in the Sacramento, Ca area have them.
