BrickJournal has revealed the exclusive minifig that comes with this book. It's...

    Harry Potter in a suit.

Frankly I think it's a bit boring. However the book won't be. The photography will be top-notch, up to the usual DK standards, and I know that without even seeing it because I contributed several hundred images to it :-)

The book blurb reads "Meet the minifigures from the LEGO[registered] Harry Potter' Magical World. "LEGO Harry Potter Characters of the Magical World" is an exciting character encyclopedia featuring every minifigure and creature from the LEGO Harry Potter range of toys.

"From Harry, Hagrid and the Hungarian Horntail to the first ever reversible LEGO minifigure heads and the glow-in-the-dark figures, there's an exclusive Harry Potter figure minifigure to collect.

"Each minifigure has a full-page profile, full of fascinating Harry Potter facts and never before seen photos. It's the ultimate guide for Lego and Harry Potter fans."

It's to be published on June 1st and you can pre-order at Amazon:

AYKM? : |
It was the last chance to bring something really NEW to this discontinued theme... :'(

Oh gosh man! I understand that but they could have gave a us a Ron or something..

aww man i really dont want other harry in a suit, but i will still buy as long as it is not the exact same mini figure.

Same thoughts here. Love the sets, going to get the book, but rather than introduce one last new character (like an OOTP Sirius Black) we get Harry in a different suit. Not even Harry in DH2 final battle outfit! Oh well. If this is the last and they're finally closing the book on the theme then I guess I can move on to piecing together some customs.

Hold on, folks - was the exclusive minifigure ever going to be anybody other than Harry ? Really ?!

Another Harry with a suit? How about something new and creative!

I'm waiting impatiently to see who comes in the Batman visual dictionary.

Look like an interesting book keeping in theme with DK's previous efforts. Super Heroes one to follow perhaps. Safe bet for Australians is to pre-order from thebookdepository.co.uk

Is it the same from the Visual Dictionary? It's a great fig and all, but not worth buying another book for it, unless said book is really good...

Posted by Rockman Xtreme in United States, 26 Apr 2012 19:04

^It is different.

@joedapoboy - well, it's blatantly gonna be Batman, innit?

This was always going to be an incarnation of Harry, it's a shame it's not more interesting, but the main point is that the BOOK will be awesome. The minifig is just a peripheral.

Its a shame there's more talk about the minifig than content of the book which i think is the main point of interest here.

It was always going to be some version of Harry - but 'Harry in a suit'? Is that even a reference to something in the stories?

Posted by Steve_J_OM in Ireland, 27 Apr 2012 10:26

^^Ah, that makes sense. Although, not if you're a book-only fan ;)

That's so disappointing about the figure. I mean, I suppose it makes sense to include Harry, but still, it seems like a wasted opportunity. Even a Yule Ball Ron or Hermione, or even just a more interesting outfit, anything would have been more interesting than this, I think.

The book should be good though. I won't get it, but I'll have a look through it in bookshops. The pictures will be great to look at.

Quite frankly I think TLG has really dropped the ball on this one for the Mini-Figure. Yes, the book is the real prize here, as I greatly enjoy the Star Wars Character Encyclopedia and think that this book will be most impressive and far more extensive since there are no other HP sets with new Mini-Figs due out.

That being said, I'm afraid that Harry is a really poor choice for the exclusive Mini-Fig. With Star Wars they gave us Yavin Luke, Yavin Han and Young Han with The Padawan Menace, so each book/blu-ray gave us a different figure that was unique and obviously not going to see anywhere else.

With the Harry Potter Theme, even if he's in a suit, how many Harrys does any Mini-Fig collector need? In keeping with the previous releases Theme they should/could have given us Hermione or Ron from the Yule Ball. Instead they choose another Harry. A Harry that we didn't seriously need.

And by the way? What's all this talk about this being the first/only DHP1 Mini-Fig to be released? Haven't some of the previous HP sets from the last few years featured ideas found in the film? Such as the set with Neville or the one with Narcissa?

Anyway, I'll probably pick up the book. I'm just a little dissapointed that I'll have another Harry.
