    Brickset user Aaron has brought to our attention that the shipping date for the Ultimate Collectors' Series Millennium Falcon has been pushed back almost an entire month to October 31st, instead of October 1st, as previously listed on the LEGO S@H website in the U.S. and Canada. No other country seems to be affected.

anyone knows the reason for delay???? it's not a playstation with difficult technical stuff inside or something like that. it's 'just' a lot of bricks in a box. strange...

Enter to WIN a UCS Millenium Falcon at your local LEGO store everyday during the month of October. Contest rules state that you can enter once per day! I figured out it would cost me more than $100 to drive to the store every day to enter, so I'll probably only enter once a week, but it sure would be cool to win one of these sets. US$500 is a lot of money, but 5000 pieces for US$500 is about US$0.10 per piece. That seems comparable to other set prices. I think it would be cool if they sold really big sets by perscription: at a scale of 1 brick:6 feet or 1:92, the Empire State Building would be five feet tall. I think it would be totally cool if the LEGO company divided a set like that up into twelve boxes, and then you could sign up to receive one box each month, while they automatically deducted the fee from you checking account or credit card.

I dunno about the delay.

Last week my credit card had a pre-authorization completed for my pre-order.

I called them up last week when I saw the authorization show up on my card and after speaking with someone at LSAH (LEGO Shop at Home) they informed me that they had received their inventory. The rep had told me they received them early and they were going through the shipping process, so I don't know.

I have yet to see the actual charge on my card yet, but as soon as I do, I'll let you guys know. I placed my pre-order on Feb 11th, they began taking pre-orders on the 10th of Feb.

My thoughts are this. Perhaps their initial inventory delivery was enough to cover the initial set of pre-orders up to now. So hence the delay on shipping and/or change of delivery date on the website.

I sent a query about this issue last night.
the reply contained the following:

Your set is on backorder, and unfortunately I am not certain which delivery date you are in. We will be starting to ship shortly. It is dependent on when you placed the order. Any orders taken now, will ship at the end of October.

We fill the backorders based on the order in which they were received. You are not charged for the item until it does ship to you. You will be sent a shipping confirmation, once it leaves our warehouse. Your item will remain on backorder and will ship out just as soon as it becomes available.

So, those of us that ordered early should still get them by October.
7+ months of waiting... almost over!

Just got off the phone with S@H, they said last weeks charge that appeared on my card was definitely just the pre-authorization. It's going through fulfillment right now and should ship within the next couple days. :)

And just my luck I will be in Chicago for a business trip for the first week of October when these will be arriving. :(

Well, it's Thursday Sept 20th, the charges for my UCS Millennium Falcon have appeared again and if what the rep at LEGO S@H said yesterday was true, this charge is because the items have shipped.

I'll find out today if that is true by attempting to get a tracking number for my shipment.

Yesterday (the 19th) the 4th pre-authorize went through to my account. I hope this one is the REAL one!! :)

Though I still have no idea WHERE I'm gonna build this one; but if I could make the Star Destroyer fit, I'm sure i'll manage this one!!

S@H Customer Service seems to be "closed" or doing something with their computers (9/20/07, since 2:45 pm)

As of tonight they have changed Lego has changed the preorder date back to the 1st...Odd. I just know mine is going to show up when I am in Florida in a few weeks at ManageFusion...

lately many LEGO orders have not included a 'shipped' email.
But then I get things like this...
marked shipped one day, arrives the next, (via Airborne Express this time)
