First the Sun promotion, and now this... Could the UK get any luckier?!

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 19 May 2012 16:12

Excellent, now where's the nearest Smyths to Eastbourne?

Posted by Renegade007cjh in United Kingdom, 19 May 2012 16:36

Just bought two off eBay yesterday :-( Gutted!!

Posted by Gazlloyd in United Kingdom, 19 May 2012 17:00

Free darth maul witth any star wars purchase at smyths store in llandudno north wales!

Posted by voypro in United States, 19 May 2012 17:01

I called this when it first was released. I would not be surprised to see it release in the US soon as well.

Posted by mshiels in Canada, 19 May 2012 17:04

Anyone interested in sending a small batch to Canada? We are looking for some freebies to offer in our summer building contest for our store. I have grabbed batches of chrome stormies etc, but was hoping someone who gathered a batch - say 5-10 would be interested in a simple transaction??

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 19 May 2012 17:14

Saw some of these appear on eBay the other day for £5. They either sold very quickly or were taken down from sale withn the hour!

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 19 May 2012 18:15

Yippee! With all these promotions lately, this month should be renamed Minifigure May! :)

Posted by zjygkmatt in United States, 19 May 2012 19:14

Of course not the us. Oh well, ill get my hands on a bunch of these eventually.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 19 May 2012 19:42

#$@! I want this soooooooooo bad! Why can't the USA get this and why does the UK get all the good crap. Oh well at least this means that it will be aviable on Amazon soon.(hopefully for a good price)

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 19 May 2012 21:25

Meanwhile - as always - Australia gets nothing. Grrrrrr.

Posted by jadeirene in United States, 20 May 2012 02:22

Arg, just bought two of them a few days ago on BrickLink. Oh well.

Posted by grandbuilder2001 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 03:10

Where's the nearest smyths store to Stowmarket?

Posted by iefdb in Belgium, 20 May 2012 03:15

yes , me being patient --> me being rewarded :-)

Posted by the_isolator in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 03:30

I take it you have to buy it from the store and not online then.

Posted by johnnyfinlandia in Finland, 20 May 2012 03:45

I hope they start online as I would like one too. :)

Posted by wayno23 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 04:29

Roll on 11am :) really hope they have some left.

When they did the white bobba deal i asked if i could buy a couple extra and asked how much.. the guy said yeah i`ll just check the price through the scanner which came up as £0.00 "oh there free then" he said and put 4 in my bag :)

Posted by Doomtrool in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 05:35

To buy individually?

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 06:08

This is good for those who didn't manage to pick it up at Legoland, but the thing I don't like about Smyths is that their actual stores are scarce (as in they don't have many stores here)! Hopefully this offer will be online, then I'll get that £10 Tie Defender.

Posted by roxio in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 06:27

£10 TIE defender been OOS online for months

Posted by wayno23 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 06:39

Just picked up the deathstar planet set for £8.99 & 2 Darth Mauls :)

Posted by pantzman in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 06:42

Just picked up two from Llandudno. My son bought one for me and I went 5 mins later and the checkout people had to be reminded / hinted both times 'isn't there a free figure?'.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 20 May 2012 11:18

This is unfair, why does the UK get the Olympic minifigures, the newspaper promotions and this awesome shirtless darth maul? Why can't the US get it for a reasonable price instead of paying outrages prices on ebay/amazon. Does anyone know if there is a chance that maybe TRU will give these out?

Posted by pantzman in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 12:51

It's not really unfair as the only unique thing we are getting are the Olympic minifigures. The other two are promotions that just happen to fall in the same week and could happen anywhere.

Posted by jengafett in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 13:51

They had NO idea what I was talking about in eastbourne smyths when I asked about this!

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 20 May 2012 13:56

^^@Legolas1 I don't care if we get it first. It doesn't matter if we get it first , what really matters is if we get and as long as it comes. (like Yoda says "Patience you must learn") But USA has not had an oportunity to get this (except the NY toy fair, but only for if your near NY) so thats why this is unfair.

Posted by Gymboin in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 14:12

I picked up 4 in the Bury store. Looked like they had about 10 left

Posted by hallows81 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 15:02

and it is unfair that Lego seem to think $ is the same as £, so when you are paying $75 for something we are paying £75 for, think about it and buy a shirtless darth maul with the difference.

Posted by clonetrooper02 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 15:02

Does any one know how many each store got? & while we're talking numbers how many Hulk, tc-14 & maul were made?

Posted by Dashofdashing in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 15:43

No offence to people overseas, but hate this whining about what we and can't get. Olympic figures for example are based on team GB and is located in London 2012 so that's the sensible thing to do,why would American by team GB figures in shops over there? They want American stuff,I wouldn't by NBA or NFL figures in our country. Number 2 everything in states is way cheaper,I would rather have cheaper items then just freebies with the papers. Oh yeah Denmark is in Europe and so is England. Paper sales are huge in England, can't say I even look twice at a paper in USA. Whilst The Sun are billionaires and pay for the rights for these promotions.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 15:55

@jengafett - That is probably because there is no Eastbourne Smyths.

Posted by herbie75 in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 16:43

^^@ dashofdashing... totally agree with what you are saying with regard to the whining as they dont complain about getting stuff much earlier than us. Having to pay less for the same items and having to spend less to get the promotions on lego.com. Also there is so much more choice on the usa lego site shop than the uk version.

Posted by CCC in United Kingdom, 20 May 2012 18:12

The US got the batman jetski (newspaper promo) before us. They had it in TRU for $5 / £3.

Posted by jengafett in United Kingdom, 21 May 2012 01:14

@CapnRex101
your right, there is no smyths in eastbourne. I was thinking of whsmiths because of all the promotions and stuff. and probably because I have never heard of smyths before.
WHY would smyths not show this on there website, they would attract a lot more people!

Posted by CCC in United Kingdom, 21 May 2012 04:20

^ Probably because they know they will attract the eBay scalpers.

Posted by LuvKernow in United Kingdom, 21 May 2012 04:23

People who are whinging about the $/£, you may think that the average person in the States earns more than here, but they don't! So they earn the same as us, eg, £20000 here, $20000 there, so basically they are paying the same on Lego...

Posted by augen in United Kingdom, 21 May 2012 05:23

The nearest Smyths to the west of London is Barnet :(

Posted by JJay in United Kingdom, 21 May 2012 06:49

Smyths in Salisbury is giving away shirtless Darth Maul with any star wars lego purchase. Got one this morning.

Posted by vagabondnma in United Kingdom, 21 May 2012 09:20

Got mine in Bury Smyths today. The Woman on the till said they had "hundreds" left - so no need to panic.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 21 May 2012 15:56

Has anyone noticed this has not been for sale on Amazon? It seems to be common on ebay but not Amazon.

Posted by madaboutlego in Ireland, 21 May 2012 16:58

Got a couple in Smyths Dundalk Ireland, Nice to get a good offer this side of the water.

Posted by augen in United Kingdom, 27 May 2012 06:02

I picked up one yesterday from their store in Charlton. They were being strict on one per purchase and per household. I don't think that they had many left.

Posted by BushellHimself in United Kingdom, 27 May 2012 07:47

Picked up two yesterday at the Charlton store. Seem to be quite a few left. Again, strict on one per person. Wicked figure, totally worth going there.
