This is a pretty awful set to be perfectly honest: it looks wierd and who needs yet more black pieces, anyway. Its one redeeming feature is that it comes with three unique and pretty cool minifigs. If you've been wanting them but didn't want to pay full price then now's the time to buy. It's now available for just $25 in the USA from LEGOshop.com so when you order your chrome minifigs you might as well throw one of these in your basket at the same time.

I reckon LEGO has warehouses full of these as they are going to be half price in brand stores in the UK as well, on 6-8 July. (Thanks Everett)

Update: It seems I was mistaken about its popularity: it's sold out already!

Posted by faster345 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 16:01

Saw the ad at 6:30AM PST, sold out by 7:30AM...who knew these would be so popular???

Posted by gratefulnat in Switzerland, 23 Jun 2009 16:05

I thought the set was actually pretty neat. Alright, it does look pretty weird, but the construction is solid and it has numerous little functions (the missile firing system is great) and great figures. For that price, go for it!

Yea sold out so soon. :(

Posted by obiwanfan in United States, 23 Jun 2009 16:39

WOW! i can't belive it is avalible for half price! But the rouge shadow wasn't a bad set! First of all it comes with lots of black peices most of us don't own(mabye you do), it has an awesome missile fireing system(the best in my opinion), and IT DOES NOT LOOK WEIRD!!!!!!!!!! Its sci-fi

Wow! Half-price? That's a bargain! Too bad it's US-only(the deal)...

Posted by Zrath in United States, 23 Jun 2009 17:16

Sold out!
Guess they didn't have nearly as many as The Twilight! :D

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 23 Jun 2009 18:27

I bought this for half price at the Milton Keynes Lego store a couple of months back.......

Posted by spidey94 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 18:33

AWSOME SHIP
good: new peices and weapons
bad: darth vader stinks, 3 minifigures but holds only 2

Posted by Miser22 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 18:37

I knew it'd sell out.

Posted by dragon_teenager in United States, 23 Jun 2009 19:37

I didn't realize "weird" looking sets are automatically considered bad.

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 23 Jun 2009 22:15

I was thinking about getting it, but $25 for three, cool, but to me useless, minifigures couldn't get my to pull the trigger.

Yes weird equal bad when the ship looks weird and is supposed to be based on a real Star Wars ship. Weird is bad, a set that is "different" is good. :)

Posted by FiletOFish67 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 22:16

When I first saw pictures of this ship online I felt the same way as Huw. I thought it was a very awkward looking ship. But..

I found out a week or two ago that Lego was going to have this 50% promotion in the Lego stores. So, today I drove and picked it up for $24.99 USD. I must say, I am impressed with the set. Most builds no longer interest me but I was pleasantly surprised that the build was somewhat enjoyable. This is one set that you have to build and finish to appreciate. Merely looking at the pictures does the set a huge disservice.

I am not surprised that it sold out so quickly.

i wanted to pick one up but theyre sold out D:

Posted by Tb96 in Sweden, 24 Jun 2009 06:36

too bad it's only US...

Posted by Brickbuilder0937 in United States, 24 Jun 2009 08:21

I got mine ten minutes after they went on sale. I guess it was worth staying up late for since I didn't have a chance the next day.

Posted by Cole85459 in United States, 24 Jun 2009 09:16

I wonder if they have it at my local store.... Anyway, people said the Twilight stinks, and, because I got it on sale, IT ROCKS. So, I'm debating whether or not I should get this.

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 24 Jun 2009 10:47

The set can suck Huw and still be popular. Some people might buy it for the minifigures and resell them, others for the pieces. It is a good deal even if it sucks. lol

I was able to get a couple of these before they sold out. My son already had this set and loves this set. There are many hidden compartments which make it a lot of fun to play with.

Posted by commander_cody in Finland, 24 Jun 2009 15:43

I would want this set ... But since it's sold out i suppose I can't get it ... but I don't want it so bad that I would pay the full price of this set , so I wont get it . Unless I find it really cheap in a shop here in Finland , but I doubt that ...

lol its alreadyed sold out thats like the only star wars set sold out in a long time!!! lego should start doing this and then they can get more money and we can get more sets. :)

Posted by fubuki in Japan, 25 Jun 2009 01:13

I just found it - one of the last three copies - at the LEGO store in MOA in Minneapolis. They also had a TON of Twilight on sale. Thought about it, but passed...
I'm happy enough to get the Shadow!

Posted by commander_cody in Finland, 25 Jun 2009 13:00

I want both the Twilight AND the Rogue Shadow ... But I can't get them (well maybe the Rogue Shadow but not the Twilight) here in Finland !! :'(

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 25 Jun 2009 13:29

Shame it was US only

Posted by mo123567 in United States, 25 Jun 2009 18:07

This is one of my favorite SW lego ships. I think non-symetrical and unique designs are refreshing. I had already bought it for full price.

Posted by Tb96 in Sweden, 26 Jun 2009 07:43

Just like Commander_cody said, in Scandinavian countres they not salening some sets.
like in sweden we don't have sets like Jungle Duel, Temple Escape, Peril in Peru, Death Star, General Grievous, Volcano Base, Cafe Corner, Market Street, Green Grocer, Count Dooku's Solar Sailer, Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon... Well I can continue all day.

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 26 Jun 2009 11:37

I think it is worth £50.00 but thats my opinion

Posted by mareleurs in United States, 26 Jun 2009 18:41

I thought this one one of the best sets I bought last year! I wish I could have paid half for it!

Posted by Yoda 56 in United States, 27 Jun 2009 00:37

The only thing good about this set are the minifigures!

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 27 Jun 2009 12:52

Why do some people hate this set?

Posted by fubuki in Japan, 27 Jun 2009 23:53

OK, I went back to MOA on the way home and got the Twilight - I couldn't resist. My son is gonna flip when he wakes up. hehe

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 28 Jun 2009 05:28

I love both this and the twilight!

Posted by LEGO25 in United States, 01 Jul 2009 14:31

I'm suprised its sold out i never found it to be THAT cool

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2009 15:45

I reckon that it is sold out because the minifigures :)

Posted by ShatteredGnome in United States, 04 Jul 2009 13:50

I didn't really want this set that much, but I just got the game and now I think it's a pretty cool set. Although the length is too long, and the interior isn't right, but lego dod a pretty good job. If lego pus this out again, I'm definitely getting it.
