News from a reliable source tells us that the new 'Tantive IV' (10198) and 'Fire Brigade' (10197) sets will be on sale in the UK LEGO Brand Stores (Milton Keynes / Bluewater / Brighton) from this Friday, 4th September. No updates on their availability in non-UK LEGO Brand Stores, or from LEGO Shop on-line at this time, but we'll post updates if and when we hear anything!

Usual caveats apply - e.g. ring ahead before making a long journey.

UPDATE - It isn't confirmed, but it looks like the US LEGO Brand stores, and probably the German LEGO Brand stores too, will also have these two sets on the shelf on Friday morning !

UPDATE #2 - Thanks to Brickset member 'cvillone' for pointing out the instructions for both these sets are now available for download (in Adobe PDF format) from LEGO.com's service pages. Thanks cvillone ! ... And now, several hours later, they have gone again.

UPDATE #3 - After a confusing mixture of dates on the LEGO Store website over the last couple of days, the Tantive IV is now available to order world-wide !

Any news about the US?

Posted by BionicleBOOM in United States, 31 Aug 2009 16:32

Yeah, nath8888? Why does it seem like UK is getting everything lately?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 31 Aug 2009 17:03

The US does get lots of LEGO before anyone else, & a lot cheaper, so, please, stop the complaining. Pretty please with a cherry on top ? ;-)

It was previously reported that the 'Fire Brigade' set would be formally announced by LEGO on 1st Sept (tomorrow).

LEGO Shop US says the Tantive IV will be available to order through the website on 9th September; LEGO Shop UK says it will be available to order on 25th September.

I read that in at least a few LEGO stores are putting green grocer on sale for about $30 off and they are making it an event on the events page so they are probobly trying to reveal a new one and then get rid of old ones at the same time. Maybe I'll go just to confirm. Note that this is only for the US. (I think)

Didn't the US LEGO store calendar say that 10197 and 10198 would be released this week as well?

Posted by natro220 in United States, 31 Aug 2009 19:30

The calendar given to me at the Lego Shop I visited last week lists the Fire Brigade and Tantive IV sets available at the stores Sept 4th in the U.S. Also, Green Grocer is $30 off Sept 4th-16th, and Town Plan is $25 off later in the month.

The instructions for 10197 and 10198 are up on lego.com under the customer service link to download replacement instructions here in the US. I also remember seeing a sign in a lego shop in Boston saying they will be out September 4.

I don't understand why everyone whines who gets what when. You've waited this long for a set, I'm sure you can wait a little longer. My only gripe would be sets specific to certain regions. I care about if it's available, not when (and pricing, of course).

That said, Tantive IV is definitely on my short-list.

I was looking on LEGO S@H for the PF train accessory pack which is supposed to have come out in August. Found nothing but i did notice the 9V speed regulator avaliable for $41.99 in the U.S. first time in a while ive seen it for the U.S. usualy its only avaliable for Denmark.

Anyone know anything about this PF trains accesory pack?

@cvillone: The instructions for these sets aren't available now, if they were before.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2009 18:19

They *were* available to download earlier, but they have now been pulled from the LEGO site.

What the heck is Lego doing to there instructions section? It seems like all the new sets are there, then gone! Hmmm...
