I must admit, Lego did an incredibly good job at not letting pics of this one get leaked... Good job TLG!
As for the model itself, it's pretty decent. I'd like to see a picture of it next to 6208 to see just how big it really is.
Though for me, I'm a bit disappointed, it feels like it's just missing a bit of the 'wow' factor, but maybe it'll grow on me.
The cockpit was obviously pretty tricky to build - you can tell just by looking at it. But once again, I can't say I'm convinced weather this is a good or bad thing.

I'll definitely end up buying it, but it's not something I'm going to go pre-order immediately.. Heck, my UCS collection is a bit behind at the moment, I still need to catch up on 10221, 10225, and now this 10227 too!

It'll definitely be a nice one to add to the collection.. Now I'm wondering what the chances of 2 medium sized UCS sets next year will be - I'm still holding out for a UCS A-wing and a UCS Standard TIE.. Then

Eh... $200 seems a bit overpriced for it, but not that much. Not very impressive, I must say, but is a very good rendition of the B-Wing.

It's pretty impressive in person, pictures do not show how big it is. It also looks good from all angles, ulike some UCS sets...

strange, many lego sets with a large number of peices have a good $/peice ratio, but this one's is horrible. I have been looking forward to this set for quite some time, but i can't bring myself to buying it

Exclusive set without minifig / s ? Why? I think this set and also 10215 REALLY NEED MINIFIGS. It will look much better with somebody inside cockpit. Maybe that's why 10215 is still available for half price at lego website. No minifigs so I save money for other sets.

Maybe cause I'm not a star wars collector and don't have any other UCS sets, but I really liked the B-wing in the movies and was hoping this would be my first. I'll pass.

Is it me or does it look like the lower gun mounting connects only through stud grip, and not through any technic pinning? I hope this isn't the case.

Agreed on the price, it's a bit more per piece, but lots of big pieces. I wonder if it's more fair to judge a model on its price/weight as opposed to price/piece. Mini modulars or minecraft anyone?

Other than that, it looks great and my favorite star wars ship.

Been wondering when we'd see a UCS B-Wing.
At first glance, it looks okay to me, with the cockpit glass transition area the only thing I see particularly wrong about it.

Thats very overpriced, this is a felling I get with every Star Wars set lately. I begin to lak of place for UCS, si I'll pass this one I think. I don't had that "Need it" feeling when I saw it first. I haven't buy the 10225 yet. Same feeling. And no minifigures, thats a crime for a UCS. Didn't Mr Lucas himself asked for minifigure in the UCS sets ? When I pay that kind of money for a set, I expect a least one or two exclusive minifigures...

I took a look at the design vid, a new type of brick is coming with this set, 2x2 angle plate with 2 studs on the side.
Also the catarpillar-tracks in light gray are unique for this one, the tracks was never made in other than black color before.
I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this set though, price is too spicy, would also like to see a minifig or 2 with this set.
Even though the desginer said that he had free hands on the scale, it's pretty well scaled to fit in a minifig in the cockpit.

(Remembers the Haunted Mansion price hike after everyone said they loved it) Rubbish. Not enough details, horrible colours and way too small. Wouldn't pay more than £140, especially after 111insanedanes price breakdown.

Plus I'll have to pay out for a bigger shelf :)

I'm concerned there seems to be no mention whatsoever of the piece count. The model looks fairly nice, but not much bigger than the 2006 B-Wing which cost a fraction of what this one will. Of course it's hard to tell just from the images, but I'm not overly impressed from what I've seen so far.

This was one of the only UCS sets I was considering buying. It looks fantastic - the cockpit could use some work, of course, but that won't be terribly difficult.
However, with the highly inflated price, as well as the fact that the ship is larger than minifig scale, I'll have to pass on this one for now. A 25% markdown might change my mind; that's about it.

The price of the HH when first announced was £119, now it's listed on Lego.com at £149 :(

Fingers crossed it doesn't happen to this set as well. £199 would be way too much.

^already too much I'm sure you'll agree. This needs to be reduced before release to around £149.99, at the most IMO and only then as it has some large pieces. Not fussed about the minifig situation but the price of this vs R2 is a joke plain and simple unfortunatly I love it so I'll still cough up most likely.

This set looks fabulous, I will most definately be getting this one. Roll on October.
It would have been nice to have a minifig for the cockpit, not the end of the world though.

By the folks, TLG do not price their sets based on the number of pieces ... but the weight of the set.

LOL. When Lego releases a UCS set with minifigures, everyone comments to complain about how those exclusive minifigures are now unattainable to everyone but the most serious collectors. When they release a set with no minifigures, everyone complains that for the high price, it should at least come with one or two exclusive minifigures!

UCS sets have been released without minifigs since the launch of the first model. The MF is minifig scale, so naturally minifigs are included. I recall some folks scoffing at the inclusion of minifigs in the SSD. I'm absolutely fine with a UCS set without minifigs just like the old days. I find it quite amusing in the case of the B Wing, why some are disappointed that it has no minifigs. It's clearly not minifig scale.

I find it a great looking set. The details are awesome. But like all here, I'm balking at the price.

The price is a little high...although living in Australia I am seriously afraid of what the local retail will end up at.

Still, I will end up getting one, either locally during one of the big toy sales or direct from the US. No chance that I'll be paying the full retail.

I quite like the model, I was hoping that the video would confirm if it matched the X-Wing and Y-Wings for scale. I guess that may be asking a lot though. The construction method is a little different and while it seems the over build will be a little repetative (building mirror versions of each half) it is hard to avoid on symetrical subjects at the best of times.

Minifigs.....really does a UCS need minifigs? I still cannot work out why they are included with the SSD (quite enjoyed that build) as they have no place to go in that model at all. The B-Wing has no need of mini-figs, the only thing it REALLY needs is a downward price adjustment.

When I watched the video I was also thinking that the build would be pretty boring. Lego is overpricing every sets nowadays, when I finished the malvolence I was like "That's it ?". I'm not sure if I will continue buying all Star Wars sets, it's just becoming too expensive, and I have a boy, so usually I have to buy double

The "real" Super Star Destroyer is supposedly 19km long. This means the minifigures it comes with are over 500 metres tall! :)

If this would be minifig scale I would buy it! Since it isn't I think I'll pass. It's a shame since it wouldn't be difficult to redesign this into minifig scale and might even lower the price... LEGO fail!

The orange circles in the pictures look pretty central to me. I hope this means that they are printed parts and not some big ugly stickers that will peel off in a few years. Fingers crossed.

Well, it looks cool, but at $200 it is ridiculously priced for only around 1500 pieces. The Tantive IV was only $149, and it had over 1400 pieces! For $200 I can certainly buy something else(or several something elses). Pass...

I don't understand this set. It is not minifig size and very expensive. At the same time TLG releases it, they have to discount the other set with exactly the same problems - 10215 is 50% off. I have no reason to buy Obi Wan's Starfighter, not even at reduced price, since there is no way to make it fit in a minifig-size Star War scenario. Why would I buy 10227 then? TLG must notice that people really want sets which not only contain minifigs but which are the right size for them. I am baffled, really.

I've been checking the net for this ship and everybody says it is not minifig scale but I've checked the original ship in wookiepedia and it actually seems that it has a propper scale if comparing a minifig to an actual human B-wing pilot. The cockpit seat has three lego units so it doesn't appear to have a central seat for a regular minifig but when comparing the overall size with the minifigure, it actually seems the right scale.

Was hoping the pricing would be more in line with Vader's Advanced TIE which was $99.99 when released. I would be willing to pay $119.00 for this but not a penny more. It seems as if LEGO has gotten a bit greedy watching people make huge profits on these sets in the secondary market and wants a taste of that themselves.

Price seems a little high for something that has no minifigs included. It definitely seems like a good build but I expected it to be bigger then what the details say. I want to compare it to the older one and see how much bigger it is. I will definitely end up picking it up to keep the UCS collection growing, but I probably won't end up picking up a second one and store it away as the AFOL community hasn't seemed to interested in it. Bravo to the designer though, can't wait to play with the rotating cockpit.
