    9465: The Zombies
    Monster Fighters, 2012
    More details...
    ©2012 LEGO Group

Target is now showing The Zombies (9465) as being available in stores.  I imagine this is going to be one of the more popular sets in the theme as zombies are (pardon the pun) all the rage right now.  Though you can't yet order it online, it likely won't be too long before the undead unships. ;o)  The actual release date is listed as August 1st on shop.LEGO.com.

Thanks to Brickset member gambit2365 for the heads up!

That set has been out for a while...(where I live) That, along with all the other monster fighter sets.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 17 Jul 2012 15:46

I do not care for the Monster fighters theme I may get this one when it goes on sale.

Posted by byobu in United States, 17 Jul 2012 15:51

OMG OMG.....

When I clicked on line it seemed the site want to let you buy it online but then it changed its mind and tell you to get it in the store.

Why can't we just buy it ONLINE!!!!!

Posted by sharky in United States, 17 Jul 2012 16:13

Yay! I wonder if it's a Target exclusive?

Posted by rherberg in Netherlands, 17 Jul 2012 17:03

strange that this zombie theme is allowed while the shaun of the dead was not allowed?

Posted by Seagull in United States, 17 Jul 2012 17:19

@rherberg: Shaun of the Dead also has some 'crude' adult themes in it as well.

Posted by StarWarrior89 in United States, 17 Jul 2012 17:24

@rherberg: This set is a "fun" zombie set for kids, shaun of the dead is a rated R movie. Legos are for kids, for fun. lego doesn't want to have sets based on a movie where zombies go around and kill people and there's blood and gore.

Posted by StarWarrior89 in United States, 17 Jul 2012 17:30

@Seagull: Ya your right, as I said, legos are aimed towards kids not REALLY adults, I mean adults like them too, but legos are mainly for kids. Plus, when legos are based on a movie or TV show the kids want to see the movie after they build the lego set(s), like STAR WARS or Avengers for example!

I think it's just a computer glitch, a premature listing. Unless something is intended to be sold online only, Target seems to list everything as "available in stores" even when it's not. It's not as though any other summer set is available in stores now.

Posted by StarWarrior89 in United States, 17 Jul 2012 17:41

Toys R Us "HAS" them, but then you call them and they say, "Oh sorry, we wont be able to sell that for a few months yet!" So ya... The web site ALWAYS says yes they have it, but they usually don't. Especially when it comes to when the sets are first released. Like summer sets.

Posted by gambit2365 in United States, 17 Jul 2012 18:01

I was able to order it online once I saw it. Placed my order and got a confirmation.

Posted by Zrath in United States, 17 Jul 2012 18:06

Blablablabla, how much is it? Does no one know the price of this thing in the US?

Posted by StarWarrior89 in United States, 17 Jul 2012 18:23

@Zrath: It is $39.99 in the US.

Posted by nightmarevalkyrie in United States, 17 Jul 2012 18:25

Did anybody notice they have also Spiderman's Doc Ock ambush is available for preorder as well and its not 40$ as people thought but actually 30$ a far more reasonable price

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 17 Jul 2012 19:50

Last time I checked, nearly 100 people owned this set so they must be out there at some stores. :o)

Posted by psychopuppet in United States, 17 Jul 2012 19:51

Stopped by my target and they show they have stock ,but it was showing in the stock room . The problem was their locator system was down so they could not figure out where it was in the stockroom. So I have to either call later see if their system is back up then run back in before they close , go back tomorrow , or just order online.

Posted by chrisbstm in United States, 17 Jul 2012 19:59

I'm down to buy it, but 40 seems a bit pricey. I'd have to see the size of the set in person first. This ones pretty cool, although I may have to hold out on this so's I can net the haunted house. I know that ones gonna be pricey for sure.

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 17 Jul 2012 20:43

Yeah, Target will mark stuff as "sold in stores" just so they have an excuse to not have it in stock. They can claim your location doesn't have it. :P

On a related note of stuff out early, Amazon has the page up for the Architecture Villa Savoye (21014) but no picture, for $70:

I have this set and it rocks.
was the first monster fighter set I got.
the hammer truck is great, the crypt is nice.

Posted by Cligra in United States, 18 Jul 2012 00:58

...What pun? Zombies aren't angry, or anything at all like that....

Posted by bigw1974 in United States, 18 Jul 2012 01:06

@Cligra - The Rage was the virus that caused the "zombies" in 28 Days Later.

Posted by psychopuppet in United States, 18 Jul 2012 09:14

I went back to Target this morning and got a The Zombies set. They have 3 sets to a box and the guy said that is all he found so guessing this is going to be a little hard to find for a little bit. Dover , DE if anyone is looking in the area. He was putting the other two on the end cap when I left. I advise people in other areas to take the "Store Item Number (DPCI): 204-00-0131" with you as these appear to not be getting put out on the floor during the morning stocking.

Posted by riot_act in United States, 18 Jul 2012 11:52

^Target does a big toy reset the last week of July or first week of August. They get all the new product a few weeks ahead of time but since they don't have shelf space dedicated for the new items they sit in back until they do the reset (unless an employee puts it out in the wrong place early). But most Targets are friendly and will pull the item out of the back if they have it. Just ask for the item with the DPCI #, and be polite about it.

I'll be waiting for my local Lego Store on August 1st so I can get some VIP points. I need all the points I can get for the Haunted House.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 18 Jul 2012 13:48

I love the zombie minifigures, but according to my financial advisor (my empty wallet) I shouldn't buy a Lego set because I only want two or three Lego men. If the set itself were more appealing than I wouldn't feel guilty buying it... but since it's not I'll just have to pray it goes for 50% off in the near future.

I'm buying the haunted house anyway... so at the very least, I'll still have one zombie.

Posted by Town in United States, 18 Jul 2012 14:26

@Ypres, where does Lego go %50 off? And don't say TRU...

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 18 Jul 2012 15:55

@Town - Actually, I will say TRU. I'm in Canada, and up until a month ago they hadn't marked sets up like they begun doing in the States. I scored dozens of sets for 50% off during the 2011 fall-winter season. Heck, just a few days ago I scored a (3366) Satellite Launch Pad for only $6 from Walmart. I don't mean to brag about Canadian deals though, since up here we pay on average 20-25% more on Lego, and bleed and extra 12% HST (tax) damage.

Posted by jadblz in United States, 18 Jul 2012 17:20

Thanks for the heads up my Target had 6 in the back, waiting for the toy reset. I gave the Dcpi, begged a little, and got one!

Posted by doodlebird in United States, 18 Jul 2012 17:37

like psychopuppet and jadbiz, i was armed with the number (DPCI): 204-00-0131 and the nice dude pulled one out of the back for me. it took him a little convincing, but once i said, "it has happened before where your computers showed it in stock, it just hasn't made it out to the sales floor yet" he agreed that could happen, and went to go fetch one for me. as for waiting for the 50% off... don't hold your breath. even when target does put stuff on clearance, the pattern usually starts at 15%, then 30%, then 50%. not too much lasts until the 50 mark.

Posted by Blackdragon5555 in United States, 18 Jul 2012 20:07

I also went to Target and had them get it out of the back for me in Utah ;)

Posted by Town in United States, 18 Jul 2012 21:39

3366 Satellite Launch Pad for $6 is great. I got mine for $20, just to get the truck, and don't think it's really worth it.

If you have the DCPI number, from the online listing, you can use the in-store price scanners throughout to manually enter in the DCPI number and check yourself. All I did was press one of the buttons 1, 2, or 3 I forget which one it was exactly. A screen will pull up asking to input a DCPI number. Just enter in the number and hit "Enter." It'll show if it's in the stockroom or not. At which point, I asked a worker to kindly get one from the stockroom for me.

Online, my area Target all show "limited stock" which probably means they had 1 case of 3 sets.

Posted by psychopuppet in United States, 20 Jul 2012 08:56

^ If I remember correctly the in-store Price Scanner DCPI look-up should be the last button all the way to the right. Some stores use to have them marked but I think since they added the new color ones they've stopped.

Awesome tip. Thanks.

Posted by ThisIsMyCup in United States, 21 Jul 2012 08:44

just went to see if my store has it in stock....and now its been changed to "not sold in stores".......

Posted by DocDanCan in United States, 21 Jul 2012 11:55

Thanks for the heads up, BrickSet! Got the BF this set before it hit the shelves by politely asking a nice customer rep if she would mind looking for "The Zombies" and gave her the DCPI #. There are now 2 sets sitting on the shelf in Roanoke, VA!

They had a whole bunch of these sets at the lego store in Denver yesterday (colorado mills) for $39.99. They've had the monster sets for a while, but this was the first time i'd seen the Zombies there...

They also said the summer SW sets were rumored to arrive on monday - I personally havent seen these anywhere but amazon yet.

Posted by joehead10 in United States, 22 Jul 2012 19:12

Saw this set today (22 July) in Kansas City at a Target. New Star Wars sets there too. Only set I haven't seen in stores yet is Jabba's Palace. But Target had all the other sets that TRU had last weekend.
