What? Are you sure it isn't just an independent reseller that got a case from the UK? I doubt small toy stores will have this.

Where? "Ontario" is a pretty big place, and the store in question would held solve a few mysteries.

I know Lasting Toys in Mississauga brought some in - it was in their newsletter. I believe the price was $9.99. Did the user say where he picked them up?

Posted by fuelbreak in Canada, 27 Aug 2012 18:26

The user did not say where...

There are probably hundreds of packs in the US and Canada being sold by specialty toy and hobby stores. A couple of years ago I found kinder eggs in Washington DC, which are "illegal" in the USA. You can almost be sure a "__ only" product will be sold where it's not meant to be.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 28 Aug 2012 02:22

Why are kinder surprises illegal in the U.S.?

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 28 Aug 2012 02:37

Cause the people think kids will choke on the toy inside. I don't know how the hell you cannot distinguish between a toy and chocolate. Americans... jk.

But every now and then I see Canadians getting arrested and fined for crossing the border with unintentional Kinder Eggs.

Something to do with the small toys inside.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinder_Surprise

In other news Minifig Series 8 is available here in Finland already :-)

If they are truly available in other countries, it's not a good thing. I dislike buying something that's seemingly marketed as an exclusive, which then turns out not to be.

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 28 Aug 2012 08:19

^It's not like they're widely available or something.

Posted by DietrichEvanFilms in United States, 28 Aug 2012 08:21

It was not a mainstream shop, its a place called london (lol), ontario.

Posted by Jdawg26 in Canada, 28 Aug 2012 11:49

Mastermind??

Posted by Jdawg26 in Canada, 28 Aug 2012 11:50

I live in the London area. Mastermind is the only place I can think of.

Posted by dfenz in Ireland, 28 Aug 2012 13:24

These weren't strictly a UK exclusive as the Art and Hobby Stores here in Ireland had them also as did the Hamleys store in Dublin. They are also available from LS@H Europe for delivery to Irish customers.

Posted by IAmWillGibson in United States, 28 Aug 2012 13:40

Still not saying which store in London? If it's Mastermind, there's a bunch of Masterminds here in Toronto, and I can't imagine they'd be in one store in London and not in the stores here. So it's likely a small indy shoppe, although I don't know where that would be.

I wonder if it's the british specially store A taste of Britain.

If anyone is interested I have 4 complete sets that I left at my brother house in Canada. Send me a message if you are interested.

A friend who attended the Olympics brought me back a couple of packs. They ended up both being relay runners, but I can take pictures for the site if you'd like.

Posted by legomatt3 in United States, 28 Aug 2012 21:25

jonboy2000, I live in the US and am interested in one completed set of Olympic game mini figures. I am hoping we are able to work something out.

Posted by King J in United States, 28 Aug 2012 22:12

jonboy2000, I'm definitely interested in one of those sets. Message me by Brickset.

Posted by IAmWillGibson in United States, 28 Aug 2012 23:33

Not that this is the place to do it, Jonboy, but yeah, I'd want one of those sets as well, depending on where in Canada they currently are.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 29 Aug 2012 03:31

@dfenz and they're still available in Smyths in Ireland too.

Posted by legomatt3 in United States, 30 Aug 2012 16:30
