    The Hungarian Monobrand store has revealed the Legends of Chima back-story on its Facebook page.

    Here's a translation into English courtesy of Google, tidied up a bit to try and make it read properly:

    "The kingdom of Chima is a magical land in which very advanced species dominate. These creatures speak and act like people.  They use vehicles and machines and live in amazing castles and fortresses. They have claws, teeth, tails, and some are equipped with wings. Now they are at war with each other...

    "Chima was once a pure, natural paradise, but heavily armed barbarian species have changed it and now best friends have become sworn enemies of each other. Ruthless weapons destroyed the once sacred temples. Blood-thirsty vehicles battle each other in fatal duels in the forest.

    "The creatures are fiercely fighting over a powerful natural resource called Chi. which is the source of life but also unimaginable destruction.

    "Only a few brave heroes in Chima understand the true nature of Chi, and that its misuse leads to the total destruction of Chima. The stories of these heroes and those who want to destroy them are known as ’The Legends of Chima'."

    So there you have it. I guess it sort of makes sense. If any Hungarian speakers would like to have a go at translating it properly, please do so!

So, Fabuland at war it is then? I like it.

I'll probly just use the sets for parts packs, but if the animal heads are neat looking, it'll be a nice addition to the "monsters and aliens" I have laying around.

^ I think the concensus is that it's for Chima, so presumably the thing in the middle is Chi.

Yes, I think that this picture was the only solid evidence that we had for a "polar" theme, so if it is really from Chima, then perhaps a polar theme is not a possibility...?

A good analogy, that... about Fabuland at war. Unless this is a very preliminary storyline and they plan to change it, this is going to be... well, in mild terms, rather ridiculous.

Sounds like Ninjago to me. I'm prepared for disappointment. My initial conceptualization is mish-mashed sets with way too many colors and a disjointed thread. Vehicles and castles/fortresses often don't mix well. That said, I'll of course have a good close look at them when the sets come out.

KillDeer, same here, funny thing is, there is such a thing as 'Chi' in chinese culture. It's actually energy, though we don't know how to harness it into a "powerful natural resource" yet! ;)

I've read both translations provided. "Barbaric" and "blood thristy" isn't kid friendly...but yeah, yeah, there are worse video games and everything. It stills sounds like it was intended for AFOLs.

I really liked it until the "Now they are at war with each other... "
After all, we NEED another war-themed Lego theme. Yeah yeah, kids like violence, I got that. But does Lego have to make EVERY theme action packed? Couldn't we just a tropical paradise with giant animal humanoids walking around? (I'm not be sarcastic about that...)
But of course, that is just the story, not the sets, and if the sets are good...

^I agree. Why does everthing lego make nowadays have to be involved with war, battle machines, destruction, violence etc. infact even a cashier at wal-mart told me "Legos are violent, and they are all nothing but war machines made of bricks"

^^ I'd be interested in sets that show a bizarre yet peaceful civilization, but I'd imagine that millions of dollars have been spent over the years on market research, only to determine that kids (especially boys) needs some kind of defined good vs. evil concept in a toy to make it attractive.

Besides, it's not like everything Lego does is fighting. There's always City, Racers, Spongebob, Cars, Friends, etc. As for an adventure theme, Dino is more about escaping dinosaurs or capturing them for study than it is destruction and violence.

^ Yeah, still I wish Lego would reserve at least a couple of themes for peace.
Even City is mostly about throwing the evil criminals into jail, we can't even get any freaking civilians in a CITY theme!

All of the sets sound like they'll be good only for MOC Fodder, something that isn't much of a priority for me. Based on the set image that was leaked (of the Lion Buggy thing), I can get a pretty good idea of what the other sets might look like.
