I love contests, but 2 minutes of stopmotion or animation is a lot of work for such a small prize :/

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 03 Oct 2012 10:23

Yeah, I would only enter if there was a better prize. This isn't really worth it.

It is a small website so cut the guy some slack. If you dont want to enter it thats fine. Does it really need a critical opinion over prize quality?

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 03 Oct 2012 11:50

It's my opinion, I can give it if I want.

Notice the rules don't stipulate stopmotion. It says it can be you being silly bouncing around minifigures with your hands, a live-comic style thing - it just has to be a video, around 2 minutes long, featuring Lego acting out your favourite scene in a game.

Knowing the guys that will be judging the videos... the more silly, outrageous and entertaining, the better!

No its rudeness. You dont have to want to enter the competition. But making coments on the size of the prize is uncalled for. Manners get you every where in life.

Perhaps you think it's rude, but if the time limit was smaller I can see it being worth a persons' time and effort. The fact stands that the chance for a reward is slim relative to the effort involved.
Depending on how many people enter of course.

2 minutes of stop motion really isn't that much work. All you have to do is throw together a quick set and take a bunch of pictures.

Posted by Redbullgivesuwind in United Kingdom, 04 Oct 2012 16:18

I do not think it is rude. It is rude. Both you and Gandalf1. Just because you think the prize is small and the effort required too big. Two minutes stop animation is not that much work at all. At most, if you want a professional look, a day. Does not mean you get to make snotty comments about how you think the prize sucks. Do not say anything. If you do not like then just keep on walking by, ignore it, throw yourself off a cliff in despair of it all, whatever.

If you think you can do better you round up a load of prizes and create a competition.

I really hate how every single comment on this was conflicting over wheather the first comment was rude or not. Was it rude? Yes, but he is still entitled to his opinion. Why can't we all just get along?

Nice prizes. I'm a bit confused though. I don't do custom minifigures. How do I enter this competion? A scene from any video game, like Toy Story 3?

Does it mean a scene from a lego game or any game.

Hi Guys, Rich from Bricktrader here - you can recreate a scene(s) from any game. - Any game at all. So if you have Hazmat Guy from the CMF's, why not try a Half Life vid? If you have a Zombie figure, what about Left 4 Dead? Go crazy, and do what you can with what you've got. Don't over think it too much.

If you want to do Halo for example, but only have classic space guys, use a bit of artistic license.
