Thank you Grahame for taking £130 out my wallet.
I've seen a few pictures but I can't wait to see more :)

Posted by herbie75 in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 03:49

This sounds really good, as my son would say. I want this :)

Posted by deadraque in Belgium, 06 Oct 2012 04:25

160 € for 1350 or 1619 pieces.... That's a bit over the line in my opinion, we have modulars over 2200 pices for that price... doesn't look bad but way to expensive.

Posted by dylanesque in Australia, 06 Oct 2012 04:27

The description says 1351 pcs, yet the box says 1619 pcs. So which is it?

Posted by SapmiSatan in Norway, 06 Oct 2012 04:49

This is great! But, since it's clearly inspired by the "Arkham Asylum" videogame, it would have been nice to have an Aaron Cash minifigure(the guard with a hook instead of a hand) instead of the normal guard.

Posted by train_nut in United Arab Emirates, 06 Oct 2012 04:53

Its so insanely beautiful! This new one is way better than the old asylum by a long shot.

Posted by tesogel in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 05:15

1351 or 1619 pcs - like on the box?:)

Posted by Bumblepants in Cameroon, 06 Oct 2012 05:37

1351 was the count for the Horizon Express wasn't it? Also it says 14+ instead 12+ like the box art. Looks like they did a sloppy replace-the-text job on their press release form

Posted by obiron17 in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 06:34

Awesome! Totally love the building technique for the Gargoyles. Want want want this set!

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 07:22

I absolutely love this model, it looks great from the front and the inside is even better! They have certainly captured the Gothic look of the building. The only thing I would change would be that guard, way to under-equipped to be at Arkham, I would have liked one or preferably two of the guards dressed like the ones in the older Arkham Asylum model.

Wow !

Posted by ickleb in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 07:36

That is AWESOME!! I want it now!!

Posted by Anak in Hungary, 06 Oct 2012 07:41

Look at those new wings on the gate! I think they were made for the new Chima theme.

Posted by TheCahleySlash in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 07:57

I wish they based this off the video games, but I guess I could mod this set then to look more similar to the video games. The Robin though is cooler than any other Robins we have got before in Lego form, I will admit.

I own all of the 2006-2008 Batman sets with a couple of the 2012 sets and I am totally pumped up about this set. To be honest, I was disapointed with almost all of the 2012 sets (with the exception of the Joker's Hideout) due to the fact that they were remakes. It is understandable though that other people don't have a chance to own the old sets, so the new ones help them out and that's okay but I really enjoy brand new Batman sets.

With that said, even though this 10937 set is technically a remake, I have to buy it. The detail is amazing in this set. I'm very happy that TLG has gone back to using more neutral/dark colors for this set, because that's the environment that Batman should be in. This set is not too colorful like the 6860 Batcave, and this is far from being to campy like the tone of the other 2012 sets. This will be a great addition to the original 7785. This is just a much better and much more thought out set then the original.

Thank you Lego. I now have to prepare my Lego room for this set :D

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 06 Oct 2012 08:36

Odd that the set has a special cell for Mr. Freeze but doesn't include the minifigure.

Anyway, pretty cool set. I really love the dark angels on the front gate, they look amazing.

Posted by TekkamanRaiden in Canada, 06 Oct 2012 08:37

That looks really nice, looks like I have something to put my lego vip points towards.

Posted by Beanermonkey501 in Canada, 06 Oct 2012 08:45

Definately getting this for my birthday, best batman set yet. beats the 2006 version by a mile. good job lego! now im excited to see the new tumbler!

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 06 Oct 2012 09:25

MUST. HAVE. NOW!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Sparky Ham in Hong Kong, 06 Oct 2012 09:30

Regarding the minifigs: I really like the concept and design for Harleen Quinze aka Harley Quinn, but I'm a bit disappointed with the others, namely:

- a generic police-officer instead of an actual Arkham guard
- Penguin and Scarecrow don't look as sinister as before
- Batman and Ivy already done
- Joker in a jumpsuit is pretty cool I suppose

Love the building though. I definitely see myself buying a couple of these to MOC into a more 'modular' layout. Will combine it with the previous version - I need a place to house all the villains!

Holding my breath for a 10xxx Marvel set...

I have a shaky cam video recording of the Designer Video posted here http://t.co/Skn2xN9Z

Not sure if this plug is okay (mods I apologize if it is not), but I'm live tweeting the event with #brickcon if you are on Twitter for other updates and pictures.

Gimme gimme... I mean I am very happy to see this.

Well, actually...
I was at Brickcon on Friday (yesterday), and this set was unveiled then. ;)

Posted by jarolo145 in United States, 06 Oct 2012 10:47

This is the first time that I prefer a DC Superheroes set remake to the older Batman version. This looks awesome!

Posted by gunslinger69 in United States, 06 Oct 2012 10:49

WOW just got reinspired to get super hero sets

Posted by the_real_indy in United States, 06 Oct 2012 10:50

Excellent architecture, imagination, and detail... I hope this is the new standard for future sets!!

Posted by Yooha in Europe, 06 Oct 2012 11:14

What are those wings on the statues at the gate? Are those new parts?

Posted by Denver_80203 in United States, 06 Oct 2012 11:34

I've been out of the scene for a while. Building a dedicated Lego room in the basement (of course). Are the heads on the gargoyles new?

oops I see now. frogs :)

Posted by multiplex in Canada, 06 Oct 2012 11:41

This is impressive. Not really a batman fan but this is really designed well. Lots of key minifigures. Looks like there is a comic book included too. Great job LEGO

Posted by Isabella and Lego Liker in United States, 06 Oct 2012 12:07

Likely the 1619 is right.

Posted by Thecoolestgriffin in United States, 06 Oct 2012 12:27

that looks awesome!

Posted by Psymon in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 12:49

So during the last Sun LEGO Promotion when people were complaining that Batman's helmet didn't fit properly and I said that it's because there has to be a gap for the wings. Many people pointed out that only the Blue Batman has wings and the Black one doesn't.

This set comes with the black wings, so now the helmet will fit properly and you can all quit your moaning.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 06 Oct 2012 12:55

Wow, This is AMAZING, but I don't know if I will be able to afford it. But I am dissapointed their is no cell for the Riddler (My favorite Batman villian ever)

Posted by ninjagoyo in United States, 06 Oct 2012 15:25

It amazes me that LEGO can design a set as awesome as this (and I say that not being a particular fan of the Superheroes line), and ones as bad as the Hobbit sets, at the same time.

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 06 Oct 2012 16:00

This is lovely. Still, I am a bit disappointed that they selected this set to be the one that features the new Robin and Scarecrow (although, you can still easily make a replica of this new Robin from spare parts). I don't know how I will be able to get the new Scarecrow.....X(

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 06 Oct 2012 16:26

I agree with The Reviewer, while the set is incredible overall, I wish there were a few more cells.

Posted by fuelbreak in Canada, 06 Oct 2012 16:59

price point in canada... ouch... the set... love it. Moving to the US just for lego.. tempted..

Posted by alexfig8 in United States, 06 Oct 2012 19:31

Nice!! This one looks great! The prison van looks a bit boxy, though.....

Posted by obisky in United States, 06 Oct 2012 21:27

I saw this at Brickcon today. It's cool (esspecially the inside detail), but is awfully overpriced for it's size.

Posted by sitkawitka in United States, 06 Oct 2012 21:47

Come on guys I'm sorry but your lucky Lego went this far I mean this is a kids toy your talking about. I mean I really don't think an asylum is appropriate for kids. So be happy they gave joker a jump suit and made a van. I mean seriously a man with a hook for a hand and REAL asylum guards!!!!! I bet Lego got complaints about those real guards. Also remember this is a building toy you can add what you want (AKA new cells for your favorite villains).

Posted by sitkawitka in United States, 06 Oct 2012 21:53

I can see those wings making a vulture. =D

Posted by nightmarevalkyrie in United States, 06 Oct 2012 22:15

Hmmmmm, 160$ on an Arkham Asylum Set, 8 minifigures, 4 exclusive in this set excluding robin since its the same mold and Batman, and the same Guard and Poison Ivy. The Harley Quinn figure, Scarecrow, Jumpsuit Joker, and Penguin seem tempting but however these will all be just be remakes for a full collector such as myself except the Harley Quinn nurse version which is mildly nice for an exclusive, dang this is a difficult choice maybe for a Christmas gift for myself. I would need to see the rest of the sets Marvel and the Dc first and then make a decision wow this is really tempting I hope they unveil the sets already or let the photos leak! I need to make a decision!!!

Posted by johnnie_tee in Singapore, 06 Oct 2012 23:48

i wonder how many of u will turn this into a modular building. lol^^ yes, it is exactly 1 modular building long and another 8 stud extension. am i the first to notice this building is made up of 3 parts that can be taken apart. there are 2 clean adjoining breaks if u look at the interior picture closely. :)

Posted by LEGOMinifigures1997 in Netherlands, 07 Oct 2012 03:16

€160 for this... It's a beautiful set, but €70 would be reasonable...

Posted by The Baron in United Kingdom, 07 Oct 2012 04:04

Expand it with components from 9468 Vampyre Castle.

Posted by LEGOIndianaMogens in Denmark, 07 Oct 2012 10:55

Those new wing pieces would be very usefull for me in LEGO Digital Designer.

Posted by Nexus Force Blacksmith in United Kingdom, 07 Oct 2012 16:05

Looks awesome and very detailed. Will definitely pick this up if I have the money.

Posted by legoscarecrow18 in United States, 07 Oct 2012 18:59

I have found the next lego i will be saving up for, it looks awesome!! I think they should of included Mr. Freeze since he has a room in the asylum, but at least it has a new scarecrow!!!!

Posted by captain radda radda in United States, 07 Oct 2012 19:57

Looks great! I am absolutely loving the Gothic stained glass windows, spires, and decorations all over the structure. The van looks great and the stretcher the joker is on reminds me of that scene from Arkham Asylum...awesome. Definitely gonna have to pick this bad boy up!

Don't get me wrong, its an amazing set but its just too expensive for me to consider buying this. Should have been around the £100 mark, but no more.

Posted by Kez in United Kingdom, 08 Oct 2012 13:32

^ I think that this is very good value for money and it is also a licensed set, but compared to what the USA pay in £ is a lot less than what we have to pay

I'd like to have seen them kit bash the haunted house and Vampire Castle. This one doesn't seem to be evil enough. Arkham Asylum needs to be menacing and dark, this seems a little too plush and inviting.

Posted by Legozrool in United States, 08 Oct 2012 14:16

Someone is selling it on eBay for $210

this set is so beautiful

however im a little disappointed that it doesn't have nightwing.

sure it has a new robin (inspired from the Arkham city game which looks awesome)
two identical robins have already been released, one of which could have been substituted for this one.

also i would like to see Batgirl done as well

perhaps she and nightwing and coud be released together in a new set, rather than another identical batman and robin.

dont get me wrong the set looks epic and yes i want it, as i am a massive batman nerd.

i am also glad to see its larger than the previous Arkham set (perhaps making up for the much smaller, more expensive batcave) but the exclusion of nightwing has really upset me, but thats just a nightwing fanboy's dreams being ignored again.

in all cant wait for january to buy this set immediately
the fact its a lego exclusive means its gonna be expensive in AUD (Australian dollars)

by far the best looking batman set so far

:)

Posted by Goldchains in United States, 12 Oct 2012 01:07

Extremely good looking set, and a must have. Lots of villains, exclusive figures(I wish they would have made the Robin a Tim Drake Red Robin figure, that would have been stellar), great vibe and interior, what's not to love? Will buy on sight.
