First glimpse of series 9

  • First glimpse of series 9

This picture of a Jekyll/Hyde minifig has appeared in the Polish LEGO club magazine in an advert for collectable minifigs. I guess he could be the Dr. Splitz that's in the alleged list of figures that'll be in series 9.

Thanks to nori for news and scan.

I am a big fan of this Minifigure, a wonderful character to turn into Lego form and a great look to it. If that translucent conical flask is included too I will be delighted.

Posted by yodaman5556 in New Zealand, 05 Nov 2012 17:32

Cool! :P

Posted by Carlq in United Kingdom, 05 Nov 2012 17:45

Very nice!

That head would be very useful for an alternate, home-made Two-Face...

We've seen the flask before - with a green colouring inside - in with the Mad Scientist CMF. If this one is clear, we'll now have the option of both "full" and "empty" flasks. Excellent!

That picture looks like its tinted pink/purple instead of green though.

Posted by Carlq in United Kingdom, 05 Nov 2012 18:11

^You're right, it probably is pink. Ah, well, it still means we'll have two colours for our potions!

That is Dr. Splitz!

Posted by CM4S in United States, 05 Nov 2012 19:04

@Above

You've seen all the figs?

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 05 Nov 2012 19:25

It's a simple minifigure, no crazy big new pieces, but it works.

Posted by Town in United States, 05 Nov 2012 19:49

I like it.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 05 Nov 2012 21:44

Oh yeah, splitz. I get it now.

Really cool :)

Posted by jarolo145 in United States, 05 Nov 2012 21:53

it looks like a crossover between abraham lincoln and harvey dent. i like it.

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 05 Nov 2012 22:09

Well that name certainly makes a lot of sense now.

There's a video on YouTube (supposedly) showing the Alien Trooper as well. Given that this means that list is legit, I'd be inclined to say that the Alien Trooper is also the real deal. Can't wait to see the other 14!

Posted by murphquake in United States, 05 Nov 2012 22:44

I'm hoping the potion bottle is more purple than pink, but pink will probably get it included in friends sets =-)

Looks like 1 of 16 is a winner for me, then again, i tend to love the CMFs, so I have no complaints of the last few rounds at all.

That printing on the hat...

This wave looks promising, I must admit.

Chris Mcveigh (Powerpig) has also found images of a Canadian HockeY Player and Mountie at TRU in Canada.

I hoped so much that dr. Splitz would be a Jekyll/Hyde fig. Thank you LEGO!

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 06 Nov 2012 05:02

@wiredforsound the mountie is just a s5 royal guard torso with forest police head and hat (I've made one previously myself). I'd guess the Canadian hockey player is just regional marketing, but would be cool if it turned up in a store opening promo perhaps.

Posted by CzechMate in Australia, 06 Nov 2012 05:34

I always thought it'd look something like this...

Posted by UtarEmpire in United States, 06 Nov 2012 07:36

That's pretty cool.
LEGO League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, anyone?

Posted by robbiew in Hong Kong, 06 Nov 2012 08:02

^we already got Sean Connery. Captain Nemo would be ace, as would Moriarty, the never-going-to-happen invisible Man, and Peta Wilson. Not sure I care about Dorian Grey and barely remember Tom Sawyer. Sweet idea though.
I am liking Dr Splitz and the alien very much!

Posted by spency13 in United States, 06 Nov 2012 08:05

Yes! Lovin this fig! Can't wait for the rest of this series.

Posted by lego613master in United States, 06 Nov 2012 09:11

I believe Mr. Hyde did not look like Two-face (Harvey Dent). He looked similar to his Dr. Jeykel counterpart. He was only hideous on the inside.

Posted by Phoenix-480 in Spain, 06 Nov 2012 09:43

Wow! I love this minifigure

Posted by the_real_indy in United States, 06 Nov 2012 12:37

Yes, the pic of the S9 Alien Trooper is posted on HothBricks now. So this list is legit! Yay, Caesar!! =)

And evidently, Dr Splitz is actually the Jekyll-and-Hyde fig we see in this month's Lego Club Magazine.

The Canadian Mountie and the Canadian Hockey Player look great too, even if they just use existing parts with some new printing. If they are advertising them on an in-store banner right now, then yes, they are probably being given as a freebie for holiday-season shoppers who spend over CAD 100 or so, or they would not be advertising them on an in-store banner so early... They may be a special regional offering, akin to the Team GB figs in the UK for the Olympics.

Any intel?

The Canadian Mountie has the torso of the Royal Guard, so it's not real. On the other hand, it's easy to make, so no worries, right?

I actually finished reading "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" just the other day, so it was fun to see this minifigure. Altough dr. Jekyll's entire appearance is supposed to change into Hyde, not just half, like this. This is the best way to display both personalities at once I suppose.

Posted by cinemajay in United States, 06 Nov 2012 16:03

Neat! And he'll make a great addition to the Monster Fighter setting too!

Posted by vamproe in United States, 06 Nov 2012 18:14

just got rid of all my collectible minifigures.
but I'mm still be getting one of these for my monster fighters scene.
