Advent day 7

Advent day 7It's quite an interesting set of models in the windows today. In the City calendar we have a remote control fire engine. It was a neat touch making it a minifig scale r/c vehicle rather than a micro model of a real fire-engine.

Advent day 7In the Friends calendar we have a selection of accessories to use on and connect to our mini-dolls' hair. What fun we can now all have combing their hair and putting in bows and hearts!

Advent day 7This Naboo Starfighter is the best micro-model so far in this year's Star Wars calendar. It's just the right size and just the right number of pieces to make it a worthwhile model.

    So, today, my scores are:

City -- 7, quite interesting and well executed.
Friends -- 7, girls will love these accessories.
    Star Wars -- 8, best micro-model yet.

The Naboo Starfighter's cool, but I still prefer the Star Destroyer. It does make up for the past couple for days, though.

I was really disappointed with the Friends calendar today. I was hoping the accessories would be a special color for the calendar, like Christmas red or green, instead of the same light azur that comes with the Heartlake Vet. Hopefully I'll get to actually build something tomorrow!

@ Trandoshan: Agreed, the Star Destroyer was better imo. But I don't think we've had a micro naboo starfighter though until this. Though they both have that "swoosh" effect :D

The Naboo Starfighter is a real highlight I think, I had little hope for it but the design is brilliant. I think I might Bricklink the parts to build the whole of Brave Squadron in fact! The fire engine in the City Advent Calendar is also lovely so this is a great day all in all, certainly the best yet!

I like the fire truck, and I think the Naboo Starfighter is quite good, but: what's going on with the Friends calender? :S It's just a collection of mono-colored parts with no color variation between them, as Hylirica described.

For me the fire engine is absolutely awesome. It will fit perfectly with my toy store from the set 7848.

I must say according to my two girls of 4 and 6 today's Friends Calendar accessories are an absolute hit! And my 3 yr old boy is letting LegoCars-Guido handle the remote control of the fire engine. A good day!

@Dragon_Master_48: The Friends accessories come together in a prepack, much like the Bat-gear from the 2006-2008 Batman sets. Thus in order to include some of them, the advent calendar has to include all of them in one day. Needless to say, it'd be hard to cram any other parts in there without the days feeling severely imbalanced.

And a good point...! Those little 18-piece toys are essentially like Micro-UCS sets for your minifigs to play with! =)

So far with the Star Wars Advent I like the micro Star Destroyer just 'cause it's so iconic and my fav ship from Star Wars but the Naboo Starfighter is a good lookin' little model. LOVE the little toy r/c fire engine. So cute!

I must say for my 10 year old, today's Friends accessories were a complete dud. She had been very happy with all the previous days.

I think todays Naboo starfighter is the best model so far in the star wars avent calendar. Can't wait till tomorrows:)

did any one else open their star wars advent calendar and find it empty? :(

ickleb - your poly may have slipped into another pocket. Before you complain to anyone, cut the tape at the end and slip the tray out and see if there are two bags in any of the remaining pockets.

Can you please do the "Attack of the wargs" soon please?

@Hylirica: The hair accessories and combs are actually new in that colour. The accessories that appeared in the Vet were the same colour, Aqua, but that was actually a different set of parts altogether (that one includes medical equipment and a nurse's hat).

^yup my daughter noticed that too. She immediately put the ski goggles on Olivia and took her skiing

My 7 year old was quite disappointed with the Friends items, especially after finding skis earlier in the week. She actually wants to build something each day, like her brother is able to with Star Wars.

ickleb & Joefish -- my son found two items in his box for this day but quickly realized that one did not match the instructions. i slide the tray out of the box and stuck it where it belonged (and made sure no others were mixed up).
