Sale now on at shop.LEGO.com

  • Sale now on at shop.LEGO.com

The sale has now started and there are quite a few decent offers to be had. In the USA and Canada, a lot of inventory has been reduced by 20%. The reductions in the UK don't look quite as compelling, but you might find something of interest.

Visit the 'Sales and Deals' page at shop (UK | USA | Canada) or use our Quick Shopper, which is easier to use and easier to filter out all the 'tat' (UK, US and Canada data feeds haven't been updated yet).

How is the Medival Market Village not getting discontinued? I would think by now it would make the list...

Ooh, set 4427 Fire ATV down from 3.99 to 3.59!

These sales (in Europe, or at least in Hungary) are not good at all. Whit these sales the prices are more-or less equal to regular offline toystore prices. In Hungary LEGO S@H is too expensive compared to other sources. The only thing worth buying now is the LEGO Collectors Guide, which is not available in offline toy stores. Unfortunately I bought my copy more than a month ago for full price.
In the past weeks significantly more decent sales have been available at supermarkets in Hungary (Tesco, Auchan, Interspar). Tomorrow I'll go to check those again, prices might been further reduced.

I particularly loved that #10231 Shuttle Expedition which was yesterday showing as Sold Out on the site, is now showing up at Sold Out at the reduced price of 10% off price of £73.79! It seems a bit sucky to put things into "the sale" that are already sold out.

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 26 Dec 2012 05:38

Mosr of the actual building sets can be had significantly cheaper elsewhere most of the time, there are ltos with 10% or less off, just wasted 5 mins looking at this - don't do the same.

Posted by Plauge in Austria, 26 Dec 2012 05:41

More like a "sale" most of the stuff is cheaper at amazon and you also get free shipping. :)

Posted by lilac_cloud in United Kingdom, 26 Dec 2012 05:49

Lego never does any worthwhile sale. I laugh when I see a keychain down from 2.99 to 2.39! Almost everywhere else is cheaper at any given time depending on their offers e.g. buy 3 for 2. Their best sales are actually the AFOL days when you get 15% off. But then it's really only useful for their exclusive sets such as HH or R2-D2.

So, if you want a giggle, have a look on Lego.co.uk to see some sets with £1 off or sometimes £1.49 off!

Same sh** every year. Lego is cheaper in the US all year around so it's only fair they get the bigger discounts, isn't it? I've noticed 2 sets with a 20% discount, the rest are 10%. One is the -sold out- motorised excavator, the other is the PotC set Whitecap bay. At 20% that's still only just below €0.10 per piece...
Let's see if Smyths or Tesco have anything left on their shelves.

Those are some lacklustre deals. I bought the Lego City Tipper Truck from Amazon.co.uk a few weeks ago for £10. That's a 33% discount. LEGO are selling the same truck at a 10% discount and calling it part of their sale. I don't think so.

From what I've seen so far, the sales and deals are pretty disappointing in the uk. Unless they reduce stock further, I can't see myself buying anything too soon.

What a joke. At least in Canada, EVERY SINGLE SET IS SOLD OUT except Naboo Starfighter and THORNRAXX.

Posted by Nate the Great of LEGO in United States, 26 Dec 2012 08:39

Most everything on sale is sold out, so it's not much of a sale.

Posted by The Cobra in Italy, 26 Dec 2012 08:45

Here in Italy, average discount is 10%. "Come on, man!"

Posted by steinj65 in United States, 26 Dec 2012 09:02

Wow, what a sale! Every set on sale is also Sold Out!! I can't wait to NOT purchase anything.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 26 Dec 2012 09:06

Lego never produces decent sales it seems to me, not that I would be buying any of them anyway, roll on the wider release of the new sets! I have my eye on the Star Wars and Super Heroes ones in particular...

Posted by TH3_L3G0_G3N1U5 in Canada, 26 Dec 2012 09:12

Yesterday they had 9 pages of sale items, majority sold out. Now they've reduced it to 4 pages and majority sold out.

Kinda dumb...

Posted by natro220 in United States, 26 Dec 2012 10:24

I'm pretty sure that these sales items mirror what is on sale in store. So while a lot of these sets might be "sold out" online, your local Lego store might have many of these items in stock. I think it's a way of clearing their inventory out, both online and in store.

Posted by Zackula in United States, 26 Dec 2012 10:27

I checked the sales and deals page last night and the exact same things were on sale. Did the sale go active at 11:30, or is nothing actually different for today?

Posted by TH3_L3G0_G3N1U5 in Canada, 26 Dec 2012 11:24

@natro220: It's nice for those that have access to a store, best I have is walmart, with TRU an hour away. I rely on Lego.com and expect to be able to order from there, in all fairness.

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 26 Dec 2012 12:09

It should be illegal to put on a sale made up of 95% of sets that are sold out, and were before the same started!

Posted by natro220 in United States, 26 Dec 2012 12:54

In fairness then, they should just list these sets as "sold out" on their website, and not list them as part of a sale. They should mark down individual sets that stores might still have stock of on a store by store basis. I wouldn't view this really as a "sale" but as inventory clearance of sets that are discontinued.

Posted by CocoaGeek in Canada, 26 Dec 2012 13:25

On LEGO.ca most of the sets on sale are sold-out ... Grabbed the Naboo Starfighter since it's about to get retired and that I haven't seen it anywhere for a while (Walmart, Toysrus ...)

Posted by TBOC in United States, 26 Dec 2012 13:56

Has anyone else noticed that they reduced the price of sets that have been sold out for weeks? Seriously?

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 26 Dec 2012 18:02

I think the sale started at late Christmas eve. I forgot all about it and pretty much everything is out of stock

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 26 Dec 2012 23:08

Some of those sets I already know were sold out before the sale started. Lego just marked 20% off some of the sets you couldn't even order full price if you wanted to. 20% off in Canadian dollars just means we're paying full American retail plus whatever shipping charges may apply... not exactly an offer worth running to the ATM for.

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 27 Dec 2012 23:56

Everything is almost gone.

Posted by number5 in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2012 17:31

Instore could only see a few Ninjago sets marked down and one or two Super Heroes sets (Hulk figure).

Also not sure if this has already been mentioned but noticed today that LEGO Store (Sheffield) were giving away a poly bag with every £50 and over purchase. However as it was so busy, had little ones with me and then didn't!, couldn't make it out. It looked like it could have been blue Legend of Chima bag but don't quote me on that. Back tomorrow by myself, will confirm ;)
