    Once a year I run a user survey to find out what you like about Brickset and what you don't. I use your responses to improve the site to ensure it continues to meet your needs and also to decide what to prioritise in the coming year.

    The 2013 Brickset user survey is now live and I'd really appreciate it if you could spend a couple of minutes completing it. This is YOUR chance to have a say in how the site is run and the direction it takes in the future.

    What do you like about it? What needs improving? Tell us in the survey!

    Around 15,000 new members joined in 2012 and thousands more used the site for the first time last year. I'm particularly keen to hear your views, the views of new users, so, please, complete the survey and let me know what you think of it here. All responses are anonymous, unless you choose to enter your email address which will be used only if I want to follow up on your ideas.

    The last survey was in November 2011 and if you're interested you can view the results and responses. I will publish the results of this one when it's ended, which will be on January 31st.

Completed and submitted, very little to say as far as negative points go, but it was very tricky to keep what I liked about Brickset to one thing!

A good thing to do I think Huw. I have just completed it and not much to say that was bad. I hope that the results will be good when the lines close on 31st January 2013.

@Timoonn: That could be tricky I suspect it's not as easy to get full parts lists for the older sets simply because... Well speaking as an AFOL who was a bit irresponsible with his childhood sets, those instructions were totalled.

Some of them vanished without a trace, others got ripped up and shredded by being stuffed in book cases and anywhere else I would put them. Or maybe my parents threw them out after I built the set the first time because they found them lying around somewhere they shouldn't have been and just assumed I didn't need them anymore.

Instructions are easy to lose track of for kids with a tendancy to collect loads and loads of toys from many different brands.

Er, anyway, I shall attempt to take the survey at some point before cut off date, I guess my only real negative is the long wait for the site to get Mini-Figs accurately included with newer sets. I mean the codes and such I guess, because there are a few Ninjago Spinners that still haven't had their Mini-Figs officially listed, which can make keeping accurate numbers tricky. It's definitely understandable that newer sets take time to fully catalogue on the site, especially Mini-Fig codes and such, it's just a bit difficult to keep that in mind sometimes. (Especially when you buy a ton of 2013 Mini-Figures from the CMF series that haven't been added in yet and then you click the update Mini-Figure function having forgotten they aren't in the system yet and the count doesn't go up so you're left scratching your head until you remember.)

instructions are available on brickfactory, and inventories are on blicklink or peeron. Then nothing is lost about oldies :o

Completed survey, and then thought of something as an enhancement (not an improvement), the introduction ofmobile stylesheet, whilst I know this is a technical minefield, I use the site mostly from my mobile, and viewing the regular browser can be a little fiddly.

Just completed the survey....and like the many others who commented, it was very short (which, I guess, is a sorta good thing). Thanks to Huw for putting hours of effort and time into Brickset...you're amazing! ;) I can't wait to see what changes and other stuff may happen because of the results of the survey. Keep up the great work! :D

I really don't have any complaints about brickset.com, only praise, yet if there is one thing that could be done to improve/enhance the site or actually rather the forum, I suggested the following:

I would like it, if in addition to the existing headers for types of topics (collecting, building etcetera) on the forum, topics would/could also be assorted according to 'Lego-theme/license'. That way people who are interested (like myself) in LOTR and The Hobbit Lego and everything related to Tolkien are able to find all those discussions under a header created specifically for this. I suppose other AFOL's whose main interest/focus e.g. is on StarWars Lego, or Modular buildings and or Lego City etcetera etcetera, may find this beneficial too.

I forgot to add this when taking the survey, but maybe you could create a header with a link to that section of the forum too when viewing a Lego set on brickset. E.g.: You are viewing '9472-1: Attack On Weathertop' and next to the header 'reviews', 'Ebay', etcetera you will find a header with a link to the category LOTR-topics on the forum.
