    LEGO has apologised for not having this ready for the launch last week. It's now available on YouTube and, in recognition of the value of the designer videos, I've added a new 'Video' tab to the set details page into which the video has been embedded which should make them easier to find in the future.

    So far I've only added the Palace Cinema one just to check it all works, but in time I will add links to them all. In fact, if you'd like to help gather the data for them I'd be very grateful. All that's needed is the YouTube ID for the video which in Palace Cinema's case is vCjG9nfY2nsk. Get in touch if you can help!

At the moment just designer videos, I think, but I could be persuaded to add others, if directly relevant to the set in question, if a DV is not available.

Interesting to hear of Jordan's involvement (Sir Nadroj on flickr), especially as he seems to have an interest in 1930s-50s and early Hollywood which has heavily influenced this model (or whether that was coincidental).

I would like to see more exclusive figure designs in these models rather than reusing things from other themes, but the ice cream vendor looks ace.

The video tab is a great idea Huw!

I appreciate this Huw. And I live for videos. I have approximately 1385 videos in my personal files, consisting in movies (Which may have been obtained through semi-legal ways),designer videos (tons of those),TVC and much, much more. I don't have a youtube channel though. I should make one.

Great to see Astrid working on another modular set! With the cinema obviously being patterned after Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, I was worried this was going to be another Jamie set, seeing as he's one of the few American designers at LEGO. Don't get me wrong, he's an ace at LEGO (i.e. the Sopwith Camel), but it's always nice to see other designers take a stab at the modular buildings.

it would appear Jamie has "turned over the reins" of the modular lineup to Astrid. After designing CC, GG, FB, GE, and PS, Astrid has now done the last two.

As for the set, I still love it, but with a slight disappointment in that the woman from the Pet Shop modular has been recycled... Why not include a new one? Or maybe there will be twins on my street...

Huw? I just checked the sets with the designer videos. You can't really include the star wars ones, since, despite it showing off the set's functions, it doesn't have any "Designer" in it. Maybe I'm just being to literal. At least, In my video collection, I do not group them with designer videos, since sets with designer videos (The B-wing, for example.) also have these. But otherwise yeah, they're about right.

Although it's quite cool to have the designer videos for the major sets, I'm not sure you need to put every video available on there, Huw. Actually come to think of it, for every page visit for each set, how many times will each person want to watch the designer video. There are pages i've been to probably 100 times, but if i watched the video more than twice i'd be very surprised. Maybe a link to it in the Links section would be better, or a button on the right in the set info. Either way, thank you, Brickset just keeps getting better and better!

^ Thing is, the overhead for storing the 11 characters in the database is minimal so I might as well embed them as I have. Don't forget, new users may be more appreciative of it than old-hands.
