I've been asked to make you aware of a charity auction for the Make-A-Wish foundation, featuring a Technic car designed by Crowkillers.

"Up for charity auction is my all new custom built LEGO Technic 2013
Pittsburgh Steelers® black & gold themed super car.

    "The scale of this model is 1:10, 17.75" long x 8" wide x 5" high (45 cm long x 20.3 cm wide x 12.7 cm high)."

The auction ends today at 14:00 PST. Here's the link to place your bid: Crowkillers Custom Lego Technic Pittsburgh Steelers Themed Supercar. Happy bidding! It will be interesting to see how much it goes for.

I'm glad to see there are still good people in this world.

What a great idea! People should do that more often. Good way to sell it too. A LEGO fan and Steelers fan would put a lot of money on it.

What's a 'Pittburgh Steelers themed' actually mean?

Posted by zipsforbananas in United Kingdom, 03 Feb 2013 09:10

^ I'm guessing the car's colour scheme is the same as the team's.

@TheCahleySlash

The Steelers are a Professional Football Team from Pittsburgh and their colors are Black, Yellow/Gold.

This is Paul's 2nd Charity Auction for Make-A-Wish, his last one from 2012 raised $1,626

I am surprised that this hasn't been promoted on more Lego related sites. Brickset is the only place that I have seen anything about this on. This isn't something that you see very often.

Fernando from TechnicBRICKs posted an article about this yesterday... It was also featured on Wired.com a few days ago... You have to understand, it's Technic and most casual fans as well as hardcore builders do not accept Technic as Lego, thus why no other sites have supported this Charity project... Thanks for posting this Huw.... :)

GO RAVENS! All joking aside its an awesome looking car and I hope it exceeds their expectations as far as donations go.

LOL.. I am secretly pulling for the Ravens today as well...

I was originally going to start this auction for the first week of the playoffs because I figured that there was no way that Pittsburgh wouldn't make it.. Well that didn't work out as planned as they choked in the final few games of the regular season...

Crowkillers makes some nice cars. I dont have the money to make a bid, especially if I win :P, but it's for a good cause :)

Wish I had the budget for it right now, as I'm a die-hard Steeler and LEGO fan. Glad to see it is for a good cause, and I hope it continues to rocket up in price!

And Go 49ers! If we can't win the SB, the Ravens sure aren't allowed too either.

The 41 warm people that bid are awesome
Also Congrats the ravens even though i'm a saints fan

It actually was only about 17 people that bid several times... The person who won sniped the high bidder at that time with 8 seconds left...

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 04 Feb 2013 03:34

^ Isn't that the case on every eBay auction??

Posted by Paul Boratko in United States, 04 Feb 2013 09:11

LOL.. Yeah, Pretty much... I've been known to snipe an auction or 2 over the years... :)

/\ Don't all the members of the Lego community? :)

Funny thing is that the guy who won the car(A dentist from right here in my own city) isn't into Lego or the Steelers... He bought the car because he seen an article about it in the local newspaper and loves to buy things that people build with their hands.. I delivered it to him today.. He was very happy with it.. He is buying a Case for it and is displaying right in his office for everyone to see... Really Awesome..

$1200 and no Power Functions? What a rip off!!!! (just kidding) Interesting car; I'd like to check out the new suspension he's touting. I like that all functions can be controlled from inside the car, too.
