    jlbblue and murphquake have found new 'battle packs' in their local brand stores in the USA. 850617 features 4 policemen, accessories and a dog; 850618 contains 4 firemen and accessories; a third, not in the database yet because I'm waiting for confirmation of the set number, is a Ninjago one, containing blue and white Ninjas and two of this year's bad guys.

I picked these up yesterday. They are a nice way to get some of the new torsos without buying some of the huge sets. I was surprised to see the Fire Chief torso to be honest. Now, with this and the Advent Calendar, I don't need to buy yet another fire station for my LEGO City to get the two parts I wanted the most.

I like the fire chief, but it's not worth the $15 for a minifigure. I already have dozens of firemen.

Plus the 60002 has 2 figs for just $5 more and you get a truck to go with it.

And would these 'battlepacks' contain proper minifigures or [the usual] Chinese plastic (CMF) low quality ones?

That's the right for the Ninjago set. I didn't buy them, but I'm guessing chinese.. pics on my flickr probably say in the fine print.

Jay ZX and Zane ZX again in Ninjago Battlepack. I think it supposed to be Cole ZX and Kai ZX or Jay and Zane in their Elemental Robes the one that they found in expensive sets.

I'm just buy the Policeman and Fireman ones on my birthday.
