Hmm, I wonder whats the occasion? Maybe its another random special like they always do at ToysRus. Well, I'm not even NEAR Argos so this doesn't effect me much, should it? Why am I commenting? Where am I? LOL. But still they should really consider having a special here in USA.

Or down here in Australia...

It says 20% of all lego but thats not true as its really only the expensive stuff. I was thinking of geting the arc fighter at only £40 but i think i'll save my money for Prince of Persia (as you need a LOT of it ;) ) and the better, august Star Wars.

Most of the sub £10 stiff is not on sale, the bigger stuff endor set for example is not in stock for home delivery and is available to reserve at some stores after the promotional price expires, not sure if you reserve it now for collection after 30th if the price is still valid or not? I couldn't immediately find anything on the web site that tells me.

Tried a couple of other things, about 10 in totoal all either available for reserve after 30th, when promotion has ended or out of stock currently.

A bit of a pointless promotion really if there's no stock.

At my local there is loads in stock, I have just got Luke's Landspeeder for £19.99! Not bad!

Typical - most of the stuff on sale I've already bought (at the much higher prices, such as Atlantis, Toy Story and a few Star Wars), whilst the ones I need are out of stock. Oh, well. Maybe I won't snap up the new sets immediately, if this is my reward - perhaps I should wait for offers like this...? Nah!!!

Posted by CamberbrickGreen in United Kingdom, 27 Mar 2010 06:37

That's right- it's an empty promotion, theres hardly any stock (by checking online) of many sought after items- NO SALE Argos.

Well, it's not in my country, but I've seen that some think Argos is unreliable, and some think that it's great. I guess twenty percent off is not such a bad deal!

Just picked up ARC fighter, Buzz and Zurg this morning. There's also a £5 voucher when you spend £50 or £10 when you spend £100. So I picked up Zurg for £10.99! Everything I looked at was in stock. I think Amazon looks as though it's price matching on a few of the sets if you can't find them at your local.

Yay for the British!

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 27 Mar 2010 09:24

I dcan't see anything matching the Argos discounts on Amazon

Does this include the Irish Argos's?

How come we hardly ever get something like this in the U.S. of A.? 20% off is not a bad deal. WalMart had a sale like that on BIONICLE Glatorian sets for a long time.

Just picked up the Farm and Echo Base, Troll fortress and Apple Tree house hopefully arriving Monday. Happy!

@Pulpdiction

The Toy Story sets - Buzz and Zurg were £15.99 last night (I checked before reserving them at Argos!), but have gone back up in price. Sorry. The Landspeeder is still £19.99 at Amazon. And the Tie Defender is £32.

@Cap'n Crayfish

You get WAAAAY more sales than us. I see sales for the US most weeks!

Posted by Brickmatic in United States, 27 Mar 2010 15:40

So with a 20% sale, does that mean UK prices become similar to US full retail MSRP? You know, after computing the exchange rate.

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 27 Mar 2010 17:23

Landspeeder over £27 now at Amazon.

Posted by C-Fish in United States, 27 Mar 2010 17:28

Huh. Sounds like Europeans and US both think the grass is greener on the other side of the sea... :-)

I picked up Droid Tri-Fighter, Neptune Carrier and Woody's Round-Up and saved myself £21 in total, not bad. I found this Argos sale on the first day and there was plenty of stock, I think it just went fast. If you reserve to collect in store, I'm pretty they will honour the price even if it has since gone up.
