Ladybird Atlantis books

    Judging by the comments in other threads, there's a lot of interest in these books, published by Ladybird: They've been listed on Amazon.co.uk for some time but now they are shipping. (thanks go to Mark S for the heads-up). They're not listed on Amazon.com so I don't know about availability outside the UK. As you can see from the pictures they come with a minifig and look to be a very cheap way of getting a shark- or octopus-man. Here are some direct links to Amazon.co.uk:

Didn't the Atlantis storyline end already?

cool, i hope to get the squid-man one.
p.s. huw-i noticed a new feature (well, its new to me) that when you click on a set, and on the side you see a price per peice ratio and ratio, cool new feature!

I hope to get the squid-man one too - I hope these are available, and at that equivalent price in the U.S. Those are worth it just for the minifigs!

After i pick this up, im gonna keep the minifig and Im just gonna throw the book away. Naw im gonna read it first

@BionicleBOOM: No, it did not.

They LOOK good, but are those minifigs made in China? Not that it matters... I'll have to see if I can find one here in the US of A.

Doubt they're made in China... otherwise they'd be sold in NorthAmerica too!

I saw one of these (the one with the squid) at a WHSmith branch and there it cost around £4 (I can't remember exactly)

I have this book in another language: Netherlands! (I live in the Netherlands)

I saw these in John Lewis (southsea) yesterday - the list price on the back is £4.99 - had lots of them in - it also suggested - either on the back page or inside that there maybe others - like the manta man or a diver book out soon.

£5 is far better than the £40 or so you have to spend now to get the squid man

Actually Huw, this set has been released. It was Released in Poland. I know because I found images on Brickshelf of somebody who has it, and I can tell by the Polish on the book. It was available since January (The 1st Book).

People in the US and Canada can preorder (they come out in June/July) these books at Book Depository, but it seems that they're currently closed because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland:

Keep that link and wait until the store reopens; last time I checked it was only $3.50 USD per book. :)

@ILikePi - Thanks! I'll keep the link for later. I'm glad that these will be available in the U.S.

It's good to hear that these may be available in the US since I've been hoping (for quite a while now) for a cheaper way to acquire the squid figure. Another potential store that may get these in within the US is a place called "The Christmas Tree Shop." It's like a combination of a seasonal and a Dollar Store, but surprisingly, my local one frequently gets in the newest Lego impulse sets (and charges less than the usual $3.49) and also carries many licensed activity books for children. So, it's very possible they may carry these eventually.

I may only get this for the osctopus-guy- he makes a great Quarren Head.
