Not sure if anybody noticed my comment on another thread, but I saw the garbage truck at a Toys R Us in Nashville.

Cool! I really like the Western Train. Though, I will problably have to modify the engine to have working pistons. It also needs a tender very badley. Hey! I Just had an idea! The Emerald Night, the Western train, and it's coaches (sets 10015 & 10014), plus the Super Chief and it's cars all can be assembled into a railroad museum! I should do just that...

Awesome! They are a little expensive though. :( I might not be able to get any.
@brickmatt: Actually, I did notice it. That doesn't really matter though. lol

I wish the pizza planet truck wasn't duplo. :(
Maybe they will make a normal one.

I have got to get the DUPLO sets for my daughter
She loves my regular LEGO buzz and woody, but she is only 2, so cant let her play with them by herself.
Now to decide which to get her. hmmm

It's a real shame that such creative Lego sets have such a younger 'Duplo' feel to them. Well for me, and I'm sure for a lot of other older fans, that's a deal breaker. I like the western train and garbage truck but the prices will probably make me think otherwise. I'm just a teenage lego fan who doesn't have a job yet... so it goes without saying that my interest level isn't high for these sets. I love Toy Story just as much as the next fan, it's just that for once in my life... the 'ages' written on the boxes likely apply.

Can anyone fill me in on what the Pizza Planet truck is???

@Ypres: Here's a link to the Pizza Planet truck: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3932738

Posted by r2d2qa in United States, 20 Apr 2010 16:08

YAY!!! I'm so glad!!!!

Posted by cjg in United States, 20 Apr 2010 16:17

That non-duplo one looks AWESOME!!! IT SHOOTS PIZZA!! :D It does seem a little pricey though... Oh well. I wish that LEGO had made the truck have the logo on the front like it did in the movie. I don't remember what it was, but I remember it being partly broken off or something like that.

No new Toy Story sets at the store in Raleigh, NC as of now.

Is this post making a reference to the store in Charlotte, NC?

Nothing in Philly so far. Hey i'm confused- have they actually, made toy story three yet, or is it coming out soon?

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 21 Apr 2010 01:43

@ benjadude11. Toy Story 3 comes out June 18 in the United States and July 23 in the U.K.Lego's probably releasing releasing the sets early to promote the film, like Lego Prince of Persia came out earlier than the film.

the Toys r us site no longer has them

Posted by einsteinonthebeach in United States, 21 Apr 2010 12:52

Unfortunately it looks like some of us will have to wait til May 1st. The LEGO Store in Minnesota was notified to pull the Toy Story 3 product from the shelf and wait til the 1st of May. Bummer.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 21 Apr 2010 14:22

@Alemas, I an not making accusations, but last year there were problems with 'leaks' from the packaging plant in the Czech Republic which resulted in many of the summer sets being seen early. That may be the source this time.

I found the Garbage Truck Escape in my local TRU! The box was odd, it was pretty fat and had a pretty small front.

Posted by The Brick Show in United States, 22 Apr 2010 14:22

We got 3 of them on Monday at our local LEGO store. We did our video review of the that here:

http://www.brickshow.com/episode32-7789

They told me that the ones I got Lotso's Dump Truck, Western Train Chase (very awesome) and Trash Compactor Escape they were allowed to put out but the other 2 they couldn't until May 1st.

Our video review on the western train chase we just posted on youtube.

So, can it be motorized?

Posted by alpha 40 in United States, 23 Apr 2010 19:09

Alemas: He is an ambassador with Lego and I believe they give him the sets.

Posted by Modeltrainman in United States, 23 Apr 2010 22:50

To clarify, can 7597 be motorized?

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 24 Apr 2010 21:09

@Alpha 40, what is a LEGO ambassador? Is it someone who works for the LEGO company?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 25 Apr 2010 03:15

Info on the Ambassador Program is here -
http://www.lego.com/eng/info/default.asp?page=ambassadors
Ambassadors are adults who are members of a 'Lego User Group' who have been selected to represent the wider adult Lego-using community in interactions with the Lego company. They typically serve a 1 year term, but can be re-selected.

Any work they do is done on a voluntary basis; they do get occasional gifts from Lego, but it is usually things like t-shirts. As far as I know, and I know a few current & former Ambassadors, they do not normally get given lots of pre-release sets.
