You can now order all 6 summer Star Wars sets from Amazon France [link now fixed] for immediate delivery. Being impatient I've just ordered 5 of them (all but Palpatine's shuttle which doesn't appeal) and  was surprised that shipping was only around €8 to the UK.

It could be months before their appearance in other countries so if you can't wait, follow my lead :-)

Ohhh, I didn't even think of having them ship to another coutry. Thanks, Huw.

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2010 07:07

Huw, thanks for that, I have ordered all 6

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2010 07:51

I've ordered Slave I and GG Starfighter as they have the best figs for me. I'll wait for the rest.

@Alpha 40, I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think you'll be able to order sets for delivery to the US from Amazon in France. I know that I can't order from Amazon US to be delivered to the UK so assume it's the same the other way around. Even if you could, you'd end up paying *way* more for the sets than if you wait because the prices are so high in Europe compared to the US.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2010 08:17

I don't think it will be worth anyone's while getting them shipped to the USA but if you're in another EU country then there's no reason not to.

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2010 08:43

At 90EUROs the price if slave 1 seems extortionate that's nearly £80 at current exchange rates.

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2010 08:51

@Pulpdiction - it certainly is extortionate at £80, but I wouldn't mind betting that will be the price point when released in the UK - £79.99.

@HUW - how can you not like the Palpatine's Shuttle?!?! It comes with a 2-1B Medical Droid!!! :o)

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2010 10:25

Tempting, but no desperate hurry for these - I'll wait for UK Amazon to stock and discount them, then buy with free postage !

Waa hoo. thank you huw!

wait a minute... i dont see any new ones?

Posted by JIRO in United States, 28 Apr 2010 12:26

Just tried an order for U.S. delivery and none of the sets are allowed to be delivered to the United States. Most likely due to the size/weight and the combination of complications that brings along with S&H fees, customs, etc. Wish we could get them here in the States now, though. Best bet if you really can't wait is just to use a friend in Europe and work out a deal with them. Good luck, and thanks for the update and link! Still nice to see them in packaging and detail out of box.

^^ They are still there; search for 'lego' and the set number - e.g 'lego 8097' for Slave 1

ah thanks

So why did Lego allow Amazon to sell the sets before they did? I don't mind having to wait to buy some of these sets since I don't have the money ready to buy them yet. I must agree about Palpatine's shuttle... its shape is just off (even for the cyber-future fantasy theme starwars is) and owning that Darth Vader is really a turn-off! Some sets I do plan to own are the Clone Turbo Tank (I own the first one) and maybe even the General Grievous's starfighter (also own the dull original). The new Grievous minifig is awesome looking and the only flaw about it is when put next to the other one, the old one looks quite laughable. As always I hope the CAN/US prices aren't too high....

Anyone looking to buy the Slave is crazy! Lego has made so many of those... I own all three (older fish-sub looking one, older darkblue-ish one, and the newer dark green one)! Why didn't Lego at least wait before releasing another one??? I think someone creating the designs for the Lego Company has serious Amnesia!? I can't help but feel a little upset... but I'll read the review when it's posted before I sculpt any sort of serious opinion.

There's a simple simple reason why the 'iconic' vehicles (including Slave 1, X-Wing, Snowspeeder, etc.) will *keep* coming back ... it's so that *new* fans can own them without having to pay silly eBay prices. Plus, Lego don't make any money when someone buys an old set off eBay ... but they do if they release a new version of a vehicle that's still in demand.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 28 Apr 2010 15:59

cool, can some one post the prices of them in usd?

Posted by Anoflix in France, 28 Apr 2010 17:16

I ordered "Plo Koon's Starfighter", 26,30€, free shipping (thx amazon). I leave in France

Posted by WedgeAntilles in United States, 28 Apr 2010 18:30

bluemoose is right, that's how I got 6212 X-wing. After seeing the movies, I wanted one so very badly but they were out of production at the time. Then LEGO re-made it (to my great joy--I wasn't about to pay ebay prices for the only set with Wedge in it) so it's definately a good thing. On topic, LUCKY FRANCE! I doubt I'd order overseas for it though, think I'll just wait. Can't wait for a good summer build though!

Posted by Anoflix in France, 28 Apr 2010 19:38

I think 90€ for Slave-1 is too much, it's just 573 pieces. Anakin's Y-Wing costs 60€, 570 pieces. Ok it has just been released, so it is 10€ per additional piece !!

Posted by alpha 40 in United States, 28 Apr 2010 20:23

I didn't expect they would ship it here, I was just saying (or trying to say) that I didn't even know they could ship to another country. I was looking at the prices and even before shipping it would be $120 for just the Slave 1.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 28 Apr 2010 20:34

I think that once any *new fans* see the *new prices* they'll consider collecting something other than starwars Lego. Even I, having 90% of my collection starwars, am beginning to collect other themes now that I'm realistic about what's worth what.

Posted by Brickmatic in United States, 28 Apr 2010 20:47

I'll be getting the Slave I since I never purchased any of the previous models. And yeah, Star Wars does have a premium, but I really like the looks of this set.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 28 Apr 2010 21:13

i might just get the papatine shuttle for emperor palpatine.....im not so sure.....and @Ypres some people like me didn't get the chance to own any of the Slave Is so I think it's great for LEGO to release another one. Though I agree with you about the previous grevious starfighter.

Posted by cjg in United States, 29 Apr 2010 17:42

@Crt2: Actually, it's sort of smart to collect SW sets because after a long time, the sets will be worth a LOT more than what you payed for them.
