Voyanui 8768 brings us news of an offer in Tesco supermarkets in the UK: "there is a lego toy story offer on fun-size bananas. You can collect tokens to reserve different toy story gifts. For 3 tokens you can get 30070 Alien Space ship (which it says is exclusive to tesco), 5 tokens to get 1 of 4 lego toy story keychains and for 7 tokens you can get 852949 toy story magnets (8.99 worth!!!). You do have to pay £2.29 for p&p though. You get one token per pack of bananas."

I haven't been down to my branch to see for myself but it looks like being a great way to get the alien ship, if you like Bananas that is!

Update: There's more information on the Tesco website where you can download an order form.

Wow! I wish I lived in the UK! Oh wait...I wouldn't be able to the Lego Event I came back from today.

Oh, that's ridiculous !

What next - "Limited edition Lego Star Wars X-Wing with Andrex toilet tissue" ?!

Still, have to admire their creativity I guess

Just a quick note to the posters who are mad that the UK gets this promo:

If you haven't noticed already, the US also gets exclusive promotional polybagged sets! So far we've got 30050 X-wing, 30051 Republic Attack Shuttle, 30008 Snowman, 30009 Christmas Tree and possibly some other sets I missed. Someone in the US also found one of the Atlantis polybagged sets, 30040 (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41432), at Target, so you don't need to complain. :)

As I see it, the only offer worth going for is the one requiring the fewest tokens, the key rings and the magnets are available elsewhere and it would be cheaper to buy them outright. 30070 however is not available elsewhere, I'm pleased it only requires 3 tokens, I'm off to tesco tomorrow morning & looks like I'll be making smoothies in the afternoon with all that fruit :-)

I think I’ll go to my Tesco tomorrow to have a look; they usually have a massive box of promotional sets that you can buy on their own.

The website also has Euro prices, so the offer may be running in Irish Tesco stores too.

This is a really good idea for getting little kids to eat fruit. 'If you eat the bananas then you can have the lego!'
