Is this the best minifig ever?

    Jango

I've just finished building the new Slave 1 and I have to say it's an excellent set. The ship is iconic in the Star Wars universe, and being somewhat unconventional in design, it is also interesting. This is the fourth minifig scale Slave 1 we've had and, while similar to others, this is definitely the best.

What's more the minifigs are excellent. Not only do you get a new Boba Fett, which has to be, in my opinion, the best minifig ever, but also Bossk, a reptilian baddie with a new unique head, and Han in a block of carbonite which is extremely well done.

Check out all the pictures on flickr and see for yourself why you will need to buy this when it comes more readily available.

That Boba Fett looks too awesome for words, especially the helmet. I hope we get a new Jango Fett as well!

"Put captain Solo in the cargo hold" And they put him below of it. Why?

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 11 May 2010 15:44

Nice, should be only a few weeks now before this is out in the UK.

Huw, can you post a picture of Boba Fett, without his helmet please? Thank you.

I find the technic pin on the end of Bobas gun strange but effective for just one piece
Totally getting this set, I still have the 1st version

I realy want this set!!!

@L-E-G-O: Yes, the jet pack is the same as the one in http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7748-1

This set looks REALLY cool! I like it that they FINALLY made an actual carbonite block to put Solo in.

Pictures of a helmetless Boba now in the gallery...

I knew it was fantastic! Ha and I was the one who kept ranting about it. I WILL buy it when it comes out and put a nice long review on Brickset.

@Huw: Do you think it is an easy build for, say, children under 10 or 13?

I Don't Like Star wars, But That Boba....................Awesome.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 11 May 2010 19:22

just out of curiosity...... WHY IS BOBA FETT'S ARMS AND LEGS BLUE?!?!!?

Posted by ShatteredGnome in United States, 11 May 2010 20:38

I am just dying to get this set. I really think lego should release new SW in June, not August. Itsjust too much of a wait from January. Anyone else?

I love the new slave I and want to get it because I missed out on the others and this is so far my favorite design. Love the figs and overall I WANT IT!

Minifig? Looks more like an action figure that a LEGO minifig to me.

I like that they made Boba the right colour, not bright green and grey but murky blue(?) and sand green. But he's still missing the yellow elbow/knee pads and the dark red blaster/grappling hook things on the lower part of his arm. Also, why has he got like a ponytail hanging down from his head?

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 12 May 2010 04:31

Boba's new design is utterly glorious. It and the rest of the minifigs in and of themselves may be enough to swing it for me; I was previously uninterested because the ship itself looks highly similar in terms of structure to the '06 one, which I already own. The only thing really missing is some kind of back-plate for the carbonite block, as I find its status as being open like that with no cover provided a bit ehh. Might just be an instance of personal preference though. :/

Never had a chance to get the old Slave 1 and can't wait to get this. The minifigs are just awesome... but it's going to cost about S$199 here :( still I want...

when you roll over the picture of boba in the article the label says jango

Posted by schvatts in United States, 12 May 2010 12:35

I agree it is the best mini figure ever. I was never very pleased with the old style helmet. I think the greatest thing of this figure is the detail from the neck up... both the head and helmet have remarkable detail.

*fingers crossed for death watch battle pack and a jango fett.

I'm definately gonna get this as the Boba Fett is worth getting alone. To answer the above post, they are not ponytails, well at least not Boba's hair - they are braids of Wookiee fur that he keeps as trophies.

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 12 May 2010 13:12

I like it... but it just looks like the old one (which i've got) with a new paint job...
I've cut up a old brown cape for my Boba fett, i think it looks better than this new one
Maybe i just like the old one better, this new one looks more ''cartoon style'' :)

Posted by Kalhiki in United States, 12 May 2010 17:11

I bet if you put the Han and Indy minifigs side by side they'd look alike. Beings as they are the same actor.
I would get this set, but I already have 2 Slave 1's and I don't really need another (even if it does look good.)

@ Huw, Thanks for the non-helmeted photos. I had a photo request too a while ago, but it got stuck in archive limbo.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 12 May 2010 22:40
