No such deals in the US?

@Faster345: No Argos in the US I'm afraid.

I still think £20 is too much, i'd might pay 10... ah well back to ebay :)

I agree that £20 is too much. It's a rubbish set but I've reserved one for store pickup.

It looks like a lot of people agree where I am as there are loads left in both Argos stores.

@primetime the fact that they are on a 50% sale makes them not a really popular set... if they were selling like hot cakes i wouldnt put them on such a sale....
Hope canada has something like this too soon....

Working fine here, what's the problem?

£39.99 reduced to just £19.99 , I wasn't really on planning on buying this set but maybe I should overlook it as it is quite a gooddeal . Should I get it at this reduced price or use the £20 to buy other sets e.g Lego city truck because it is a good offer but it's not the best set around

Posted by ensign_dave in United Kingdom, 16 Jun 2010 16:16

This set should've been £19.99 to begin with - half price then would've been worth it!
Even at £19.99 I won't be getting one of these.
A LEGO set at half price = it wasn't selling that well to begin with.

I dont care if its half price, DONT BUY THIS SET. read my review.

Argos.ie (Republic of Ireland) have the end of catalogue sale banner, but the reductions on Lego seem only to be the existing small ones they applied a few months back that merely brought their prices into line with other Irish retail outlets selling Lego (indeed elsewhere cheaper for various sets).

TIE Defender is still €49.89 (was €54.99), about the same price as elsewhere.

@benjadude11 - You're right, dagnabbit. I won't bother as I want all the new and 'proper' ESB stuff and this could be £20 towards those sets.

It's the Tie-fighter - not that interesting really, especially an expanded universe one. The only decent one was the one with tank treads (or am I dreaming that one).

All my own opinion, of course.

I have got one now. I must admit that £40 is overpriced and I'm still not impressed with it being £20 but my aim is to collect al the LEGO Star Wars Sets so I had to.

Agree with ScarVader, at £40 vastly over priced even by Lego Star Wars standards. However at £20 it's about right. I'm in the same boat as ScarVadar in that i'm attempting to collect ALL Lego Star Wars sets, so have to take the bad with the good. Currently got about 100 different SW sets - started off with the UCS AT-AT 'cos it was cheap from Argos a couple of years ago and had so much fun building it, I was hooked!

I would put the set at £14.95. Bought two off of ebay one for £6.20 and the other £7.30 sealed!! hey ebay got better deals than argos, however there Buzz lightyear has gone down in price to £14.97 thats a steal really.!
