Personal testimonial: the garbage truck set at TRU's $35.99 is absolutely worth it, if you're on the fence.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 22 Jun 2010 14:40

@Morgan19 - How does it compare to some of the trucks in the City line, like the Recycle Truck, Cargo Truck, etc. I'd get it if it could do double duty and go with my City stuff too. The Pizza Truck is also intriguing, for the same reasons.

Wow! A Nice Lot of TS Sales! Though I'm Hoping to get woody's round up Still. Darn. :P

Posted by Jayko543 in United States, 22 Jun 2010 15:11

Interesting to see that a lot of TS sets are on sale, makes me think that the line wont go very long.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 22 Jun 2010 15:12

@ Jayko543 They have to capitalize on the release of the movie.
I think they may have some staying power.
But won't see any new sets.

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 22 Jun 2010 15:47

@ natro220 - The Toy Story sets are definitely larger scale. Both the pizza truck and the garbage truck are way too big to "fit in" with other City trucks.

Off the top of my head, I'd eyeball that the cargo semi trucks (like the recent yellow one) probably wouldn't even reach 3/4ths of the garbage truck's height; the orange recycling truck probably isn't a quarter of the garbage truck's size. The TS vehicles are also about twice as wide as regular City sets, give or take.

They look great on their own but dwarf any non-TS vehicles put in the same scene.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 22 Jun 2010 16:49

Thanks for the info Morgan19! I may still get them, they look pretty good. I have the other Toy Story sets, so I should probably just get these to complete the series.

I saw the Galactic Enforcer (5974) at a local Metro L.A. Target store for half-off: $50 instead of a $100.
It was either the La Cienega/Rodeo store East of Culver City, or the Jefferson store in Culver City.
This was on Saturday June 19th, as I was trying to get the new DEVO album (I got the last copy, from the back!).

Posted by cwadley in United States, 22 Jun 2010 18:16

Thanks for the info!!!

Well that's good news... it's not like Lego is going to put something on sale anytime soon. I usually check the Lego website twice a day, but never seem too happy to see the same boring stuff.

I might look more into Walmart's sales... nice shipping and some rather 'fair' prices. I only wish places like Target and ToysRus would expand their sales past ToyStory3 and Atlantis!

Posted by legomatt in United Kingdom, 22 Jun 2010 21:51

I wish ToysRUs in the UK would do ANY Lego sale... the last time they did a deal was 'spend £50 and get a very small tub of duplo bricks'... :o/

Posted by ILikePi in United States, 23 Jun 2010 00:36

Does anyone think the Pizza Planet truck will ever go on sale cheaper in the future, when all the TS3 hype is down? I'd rather wait for a larger sale than 15% off before splashing the cash on it.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 01:02

funny thing is the pizza planet truck was never seen in Toy Story 3

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 08:39

Has anyone had problems loading the official LEGO site? I use IE7 and it says: "Internet explorer can not display the webpage." It won't load anwhere on the whole site. Can anyone tell me if it is everywhere, or just me?

Posted by rbolsius in United States, 23 Jun 2010 09:42

I use Firefox 3.6.4 and it fails to load.

Posted by WolfnWendy in United States, 23 Jun 2010 10:51

The pizza ruck is in Toy Story 3. After Lotso and his pals get lost they catch a ride on the back of it on their way home.

Posted by nerfman2227 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 11:11

I went to my local Target yesterday (they had the sales) on the hunt for collectible Minifigs, and they said they would be getting harry potter sets, and the game. speaking of the Lego games, they were also stocking those on shelves when I was there.
And also, I went to TRU the other night, and we saw an empty Lego Minifigures box, but no figures... Mom went ask, and they said they put them out on Saturday, and they sold out immediately. Holy Hoth!

Posted by faster345 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 12:23

Target in San Pedro CA had two Kingdom sets, a few Racer sets and a few LEGO games too. Sadly they were out of their exclusive Pizza Truck I went to get. So I got the dump truck for $15. it's cute.

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 12:25

LEGO .com still won't load! Does anyone else outside or inside the USA have any problems with the official LEGO site?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 23 Jun 2010 12:32

Works fine for me in the UK; maybe you need to clear out your browser cache.

Posted by refriedbeans in United States, 23 Jun 2010 12:49

@ceroknight Its In the part when Lotso And the Baby guy are lost.

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 13:14

@Murdoch: what other pages did you try to load? maybe it was just your internet explorer, it does that to me but not just for lego, i cannot get onto ANY website. Try turning yur computer off for 10 minutes and then loading it again.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 13:17

oh yea! my bad :S
and murdoch17? that happened to me a few days ago and I think it was because I was on internet explorer, works fine on firefox and safari

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 14:24

@ Gameon99: I trieds loading all the official lego mini-sites I could remmeber. This includes: My LEGO network, Factory, universe, bionicle, and Design by me.

@ ceroknight: I only have IE7. I'll ask my mom if it works on her computer (she's got firefox). If so, I'll take Gameon99's advice and restart. If not, I'll clear my browser, like Bluemoose said.

Thanks to everyone who helped!

Barnes & Noble has LEGO sets BOGO 50% off.

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 14:51

Okay, I guess Lego's US server is having problems. Iv'e tried everything, and it seems I'm not the only one having problems. Brickset user Rbolsius is also having trouble, although with Firefox. (see comments above, it's right under my first comment.) Maybe LEGO's Server lost power, or it got struck by lightning, or could have just shut-down. Though, one things for sure: I can't get onto lego .com! If your reading this LEGO, PLEASE fix your US server!

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 15:47

Mmmm, the Cave Crusher is tempting at 50% off. Do the physical LEGO stores usually carry the same discount?

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 15:54

Darn Lego, I hate their odd 1 minute 50% off sales!!! I always see it when everything is listed as 'sold out'... and I check their website everyday! What time do these discounts even get posted on their website?!

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 19:25

@Morgan19: Who? What? Where? When? How? Who?.....................Where's it 50% off?
EDIT: Nevermind. Darn! Sold out!

Posted by cjg in United States, 23 Jun 2010 19:52

:( I wish I knew about the Cave Crusher when it went on sale! It's out of stock now.
BTW: Lego.com is working for me.

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 19:55

@cjg: I Already said That. ;) What I Would Do is Bookmark the Sales and Deals Page & Check it every day. Here,

Posted by cjg in United States, 23 Jun 2010 20:47

@Crt2: Good idea! I think I will bookmark that. My brother is going to LOVE it that TRU has HF now!

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 21:17

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 21:32

My lego.com is working fine,
@ncbarrett: what lego sets does Barns & Noble have?

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 22:10

@GameOn99: Actually, They have Almost Everything (Online) at Normal Price, Plus $25 & Up Free Shipping! But I Don't See any Sales! :( I Wonder what ncbarrett was Thinking?
EDIT: Oh! Maybe It's Just for Members.(?)

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 00:34

It's not just members (I'm not one), but it did come in an email blast (I got one).

Posted by reyzay in United States, 24 Jun 2010 08:35

Just bought 2 falling waters @ 67 (with their buy one get one 50% off). Very good deal @ Barnes & Boble. :-)

Posted by faster345 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 11:49

Odd about the TRU bogo 50% off email as I am a rewards member and did not get one.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 24 Jun 2010 12:58

TRU BOGO coupon, in pdf form, is here...
http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/media/trus/062310_Cp_RRU_MSD_V1.pdf

Posted by faster345 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 13:58

@ncbarrett thanks for the link! Cheers.

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 14:03

^^^ Same here... Sort of defeats the purpose of a rewards program if they don't notify everyone of the rewards. o_O

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 24 Jun 2010 16:02

@faster345 - I also didn't get the email initially, though I regularly receive emails from TRU. So I went to the TRU website, clicked on Rewards, and registered my email directly to my card. Within an hour of doing so, I received an email from them with this coupon.

@Crt2 - It doesn't appear that they're advertising this sale on B&N but you'll see the discount show up as soon as you add 2 sets to your cart. Their selection is fairly limited but Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off plus Free Shipping is always a good deal. And since Star Wars sales are few and far between, this is a good chance to get the Arc Fighter. It pairs nicely with the Duplo Farm. :o) Please note, though, that this 50% discount only appears to be generating for 1 set per cart and the lowest priced set at that. Additionally, no idea when this expires.

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 16:38

@yellowcastle: Ah.......Thank you! It's Nice to Have an Admin who Always Trys to Help Users! :D
EDIT: I Just added 2 Woody's Roundups Just for fun. It's a Really Good Deal, 2 for $70! :)

Posted by xarquar in United States, 25 Jun 2010 09:36

The Lego Shop just added a few more sale items. Check them out before they're gone!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 25 Jun 2010 11:08

@xarquar - thanks for the headsup! Too bad most of them are already gone. I loved the Ambush at Cairo, Crystal King, Chauchilla Cemetery Battle, and Drawbridge Defense sets. Perhaps the Fighter Plane Attack set... Also, looks like Indy is definitely moving on...
