    Ceroknight sent us news of a very cool promotion at LEGOshop.com. Buy anything (*) and get a free classic space minifig magent with a cool 2x4 printed tile featuring the classic space logo.

    (*) in the USA and Canada it seems you need to spend over $75. Everywhere else it's free with every purchase.

    Update: I've checked LEGOShop.com, and to qualify for the CS Minifig, you need to spend AUD 90 in Australia, EUR 55 in Europe, NZD 110 in New Zealand, and GBP 55 in the UK. This offer is not available to South Korea.  -- jpmanalo

    Update: It seems LEGO have acknowledged there's been a problem with this promotion. I hope my affiliate manager won't mind me quoting him verbatim:

You have to spend £50 in the UK to get it added autmoatically to your shopping cart, so i think thats the minimum even though it says wuth every purchase.

Definitely £50 for the UK ... the star on the picture may point to "whilst stocks last" on the picture but there is a further large T&Cs point at the bottom of the screen after the suggested items to buy saying £50 min spend. How annoying ...

€55 in Ireland also, it's in the small print rather than up-front specified in the banner or even in the "more details" panel (only an asterisk in the panel with tiny text at the bottom of that page).

It's certainly misleading. The page linked to definitely says 'Get this EXCLUSIVE Spaceman Magnet with every purchase!' wheras on the US/Candian sites it mentions the $75 in the large print.

I saw a copy of the US store calendar (on Flickr somewhere) for July offering the same magnet with purchases over $75 in store. Any idea if this is the case the UK too?

at first i was like WOW and then then i saw the 75$. cant lego EVER do anything thats free? look at Chic-Ful-A they give free stuff all the time, and are they out of buissnes? no. lego only has competitions and "spend over this much to get".

If they only put this on the day new star wars sets are released, that would have encouraged me, and loads of other people to buy from lego, not another retailer. Theres nothing i really want to buy so im not gonna get this magnet.

I'm so confused - if I buy £50 or more in LEGO I get a free magnet. But that does seem a little expensive. At least it's better than that Star Wars sticker give away.

$75.00 for a $3.00 figure??!!
It's nice to get something(I don't know any toy company that gives you anything to be honest) but only if it's in a collector's type packaging I'd think it'd be worth it. Or perhaps they should've just made it for subscribers to the LEGO club magazine. It seems like a cheap way to get you to up your shopping cart just to get a $3.00 mini-fig. This type of promo should be given to the LEGO magazine subscriptions.

Here's a thought/question... If it is cost effective for Lego to create a $75/£50 spend 'giveaway' with special printed brick art, why is it not effective to print on more bricks in limited run (which they all are) sets, when that set will sell for over $75/£50? If i was limited to just one option, out of the two reasons to print on a brick, i'd have thought actual product was more deserving of this attention, as sales incentives can be achieved using other costless methods (such as VIP rewards, or BOGOs). Not that i'm against the giveaway, yes, i want both! To have my cake and to eat it. :o) I do like the little guy (but won't spend £50 for him - maybe the collectable minifig success has gone to their head!) lol.

On a side note: I had enough VIP points to bring the Shuttle set under $75, but I still got the figure. I added the shuttle to my cart, it added the figure, then I used my $45 worth of point credit bringing my total down to $55. I still got both free shipping and the free spaceman.

While I realize not everyone has that many points around, if you have $5 in points you can still use them to bring your total from $75 down to $70 and still get the bonus stuff.

I agree with Eli95, it's not a classic spaceman as it has a 1988 onwards helmet. So what you actually get is some perverse classic space/futuron hybrid. They should have just gone with a futuron figure if they haven't got the moulds for the old school helmets......

I thought I read somewhere that they no longer use the old school space helmet mold because of quality reasons. The old chin pieces were always breaking.

RE: ObiSeanLegobi crummy chin strap piece - Yep.. . just bought a large collection (the worst sort of mix 5 pound brand new, 20 pounds great shape. 10 okay, 3 pound dirty vintage stuff) there were about 7 vintage spaceman figures there, about 6 helmets ... 5 of which were broken at the chin area.

Upon closer look, they do have Luke’s Landspeeder, set #8092, for $25 in stock, you can not find that sucker anywhere around here. The New harry potter video game is also do-able.

I just got the lego sets Toy Story: Pizza Planet Truck Resue and Space Police: Lunar Limo and I spent 80 dollars and got a space man magnet, I needed to spend 75 dollars to get it.
