Cuusoo: Tolkien Week Showcase (and some E.T. thrown in for good measure)
Well, it's that time of year again, Tolkien Week. Yeah it's a thing, been around since 1978 even, so not one of those flash in the pan weeks.
In observance of this event, I now share with you these fine projects based on Tolkien's works.
This would make for a really excellent display piece for any hard core LEGO LotR fan.
This is the most "traditional" sets presented in the showcase and is just plain gorgeous.
This one is also just 25 support short of 1K so let's see if we can't get this to the Cuusoo bump point!
While I love the Fell Beast, this is probably my favorite LotR project on Cuusoo based on quality, footprint, divergence from traditional LEGO products. Also I just love miniature castles for some reason.
Really everybody, please check this piece out. There is a lot of fantastic variation in this build. There is almost no repetition, which is pretty hard to accomplish at this scale.
I am not one for movie props usually (I admire them sure, I just don't fork over the cash), but I could certainly make an exception for a movie prop made of LEGO.
Thanks to Brickset user Telcontar for brining Tolkien Week to my attention.
A Week of Cuusoo
This is another project by the Tjspencer1 of recent Jurassic Park "fame" and I am glad to see that the events surrounding their first weeks on Cuusoo did not scare them off. The set concept is pretty inspired but unless I miss my guess, the Ninjago skull is modified to make E.T.'s head. I could definitely see some of the more adventurous types repeating this methodology in real life though, grinding off the lower jaw to get a near perfect E.T. head.
Besides this project and the GT, there was an excellent Maersk crane themed set that came out this week and even a Magnum, P.I. project. I also talk a little bit about LUGs which makes me curious about how many of Brickset's readers are members of LUGs. Well, you can read more on that here.
