Earlier this year, at Toy Fair New York, Lego gave out a small number of white Boba Fett figures to invited guests at their stand. They also announced that a larger distribution (around 20,000 world-wide) would happen later in the year, as part of the 30th anniversary of the release of 'Empire Strikes Back', episode 5 in the Star Wars saga.
There is still no definitive news on when or how the release will happen, but a few of the poly-bagged figures are starting to trickle out into the real world, so the release date must be getting close. Now we have a set number, I've added it to the database.
For those that don't know, Boba Fett is a very popular character from the Star Wars films; during the original character development, it was planned that his body armour would be white, as can be seen in various concept drawings, but they finally settled on a more colourful design. This 'prototype' white Boba Fett has been the inspiration for figures released by other toy manufactures (e.g. Hasbro) in recent years.
