    30073: Buzz's Mini Ship

Brickset member "Timberlake29" brings news that 30072 Woody's Camp Fire and 30073 Buzz's mini-ship will be free with next Saturday's and Sunday's Daily Mirror. He said the ad in yesterday's paper didn't mention whether it would be by token or by collect in-store. If it's like the last one, though, it'll be collect in-store from Tesco and TRU.

Typical: I'm going to be out of the country next weekend so won't be able to collect for myself! If anyone is able to pick some up for me, do please get in touch!

Update from Eurobricks: This is part of a larger promotion of TS3 toys which will be available with The Mirror.

im so getting them they look amazing !!!

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 04:22

Excellent, I was wondering how I was going to get hold of these, now I know. The Daily Mirror Lego offers have been fantastic over the past few years, it's the only time I buy the paper!

Posted by Renegade007cjh in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 04:33

Nice one! Was never able to get to WHSmith or TRU for the Star Wars promo, so had to do the mail-away instead. Will NOT be making the same mistake this time around!

Now I just need to know how to get hold of 30071!!

Posted by patch in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 05:29

cool promotion, but i'm not too keen on toy story

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 05:43

The Mirror ad doesn't mention TRU, WHSmiths etc., so maybe there's a chance that the sets will be packaged with the paper (hooray !), although I'm not holding my breath.

Posted by Darthblaker74744 in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 06:14

i love it when the mirror gives away these sets this is the only time I read the newspaper lol!!

Hi Huw - I've got the same problem, for me in the Netherlands those quints of actions don't work.
Therefore, is it an idea on your site, to make a "let's help" page for only members.
So I can ask to people in the VS to buy me something and send it over (I'll pay) and for others I can buy stuff (they pay) and send it over, without extra charges! Just an idea.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 09:11

@Peter1975 Brilliant Idea, it should incorporate collectable mini figure swapping also.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 11:18

@Peter1975 and LegoCoastGuard - That's a good idea but it's not all that safe. If members got to use that they would have to be at a certain age or have a parent go though. Bricklink already has that though (except for it's like eBay).

I would help you out Huw, but I'm too young and I live in the USA. :(

Posted by mokey2345 in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 11:32

@peter1975 that idea is amazing although jarod98 i also agree its not that safe ?

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 11 Jul 2010 11:44

Too bad they don't do newspaper giveaways in the U.S. For some reason there's never any promotional (free with newspaper, magazine, etc.) sets that are used in these things, we end up having to buy them directly (if the set is released at LEGO dealers), buy overpriced ones on eBay, or not get the set at all.

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 11 Jul 2010 16:15

I was thinking of buying a few TS sets to get Woody and Buzz figs, but now I can just get them with the promotion. Yay!

Posted by Routemaster in Germany, 12 Jul 2010 01:48

Would love to get Woody's Camp Fire somehow.

Posted by gold682 in United Kingdom, 12 Jul 2010 04:35

I'd be happy to post out any extras I can get of this promo to people on here, providing they cover the cost of the newpapers and P&P. I live close to all potential outlets (TRU, WH Smith or Tesco).

I'm more of a Star Wars collector, but collect anything Lego especially if it costs next to nothing like these great promo's - don't like the paper but do like their Lego!!!

Posted by MrHeadache in United Kingdom, 12 Jul 2010 07:32

Huw - Have you considered reserving the newspaper?

Posted by mission_zed in United Kingdom, 12 Jul 2010 08:44

I see the Daily Mirror are learning, having the best "free" stuff over the weekend, when the newspaper is more expensive. Very cunning. I for one, won't be buying ten copies of the Sunday Mirror just to get multiple Buzz's.

Posted by mokey2345 in United Kingdom, 12 Jul 2010 16:16

huw i might be able to get the toy story stuff 4 u ?

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 12 Jul 2010 16:49

I may be able to get you one (or more) providing that it is packaged in the paper or is WH Smith or Tesco. (And all costs are covered)

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 12 Jul 2010 18:03

NOOOOOOOO! Not another Mirror promo!! Is this like the 4th one?!?!

Posted by Retrobilly6120 in United Kingdom, 12 Jul 2010 22:13

Its a wicked offer, cheapest lego mini figure yet. I must say that these figures are a must in my collection as the heads are a perfect reflection of the toy story characters. Not the normal yellow or black heads. These are going to be a winner and well worth collecting.

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 13 Jul 2010 02:40

I really wanted to get woody and buzz so I got them free in the magnet with the fruit packets at tesco. I might still get these though for pieces like woody's longer legs and the hot dog!

Posted by MinifigHQ in Australia, 13 Jul 2010 09:43

Thanks for the news on this promo, email sent to my cousin over in the UK. I can see this years parcel being sent over at christmas will be pretty full after all the promo's this year in the UK. :-).

Posted by Peter1975 in Netherlands, 13 Jul 2010 13:29

Others;
Why shouldn't my idea be safe. I can imagine as a member you need to fill in a registration form wich is connected with something like paypall or so.
You also can rate another when you had a good deal. The idea is, as Orange Lemons says, to be able finding Lego specials, without paying them overpriced on sites as eBay.

Another way is just look in the member list and see who is whilling to ship things to you.
I am not espacially a lover of Toy Story, more a Castle and Pirates guy.
But for a while ago, there was this auction with two polybags of Lego 30061 and 30062.
Is there anyone out there who wants to sent me these sets, without over price them?

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 14 Jul 2010 06:56

Got the latest information on this offer:

"Get two free Toy Story LEGO toys with The Daily Mirror (65p) on Sat 17 and The Sunday Mirror (£1 ) Sun 18 July.

On Sat you’ll find a voucher for a LEGO Woody toy and on Sun a voucher for a Buzz Lightyear LEGO toy, both worth £5ish. The vouchers are redeemable at WHSmith, The Disney Store or Toys R Us."

This went out as part of the MoneySavingExpert.com weekly email which goes to millions of people, not sure whether this will mean more of a rush than usual to get hold of these or not, but I'll be going early to be on the safe side.

What do you have to do to get them? buy 10 Mirrors, cut out tokens and then send them off?

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 14 Jul 2010 16:49

@Drath, you need to redeem the token in one of the shops I mentioned in my previous comment on the day. Not sure if there is a mail option on this offer or not.

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 15 Jul 2010 12:13

Ah yes, Sorry :)
I might get the woodey one in that case...

Posted by Darthblaker74744 in United Kingdom, 16 Jul 2010 02:52

Woot! got one!

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 17 Jul 2010 12:43

Went to one WH Smith, was told they had all gone by 10.00am and they only had about 50 they claim.

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 18 Jul 2010 08:04

Managed to get hold of both of these sets easily from WH Smiths, just made sure I was there at opening time. If you're reading this Huw, got some for you too as promised!

Posted by boboloveslego2 in United States, 19 Jul 2010 00:46

im not gonna get buzz's speeder thing, but i am SO gonna get woody's camp. it's awesome!

Posted by mission_zed in United Kingdom, 19 Jul 2010 05:08

Thank you to the staff at WHSmiths at London Bridge station. They could not be bothered to wait for me to tear out the coupons and just gave me the Buzz sets ... so I tore out the coupons and took them to the WHSmiths at Waterloo station ! So four Buzz's for £2 ! The guy at Waterloo station did give me the "one per reader" line but one of the other staff said: Just give the man what he wants.
