The coupon is a little vague, but it's valid from 7/11 to 7/17 and is for everyone, not just "Rewards R Us" members.  Additionally, I'm guessing you can apply it to multiple sets on the same transaction.  And don't forget....in order to maximize the discount, try to buy similarly priced sets.  Happy Shopping!  :o)

Too bad it's not for Star Wars, but cool!

Too bad it 'ant in Canada.

When I used the "Rewards" coupon a couple weeks back, my store did NOT let me use it on multiple sets. They only let me use it for a single pair. The cashier rang in four sets, then claimed she tried the coupon and it only discounted one set. I suggest saving the coupon as a PDF, so that you can print it more than once and use it in separate transactions.

Interesting that my local Sunday TRU ad doesn't mention this coupon/special. There are various other BOGO 50% sales this coming week at TRU, but not Legos, according to the ad at least. I wouldn't have known otherwise if I hadn't seen this news post. I'm also a TRU Rewards member, but I usually don't receive emails notifying me of these Lego sales either.

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 11 Jul 2010 14:56

Another BOGO sale? Didn't they had one 2 weeks ago?

TRU seems to be doing these 'BOGO 50% off' sales more frequently this year. We already had 4 and its only 1/2 way through the year!

Not sure if its a good thing, though.

The coupon does not apply to Lego Games, as TRU does not count them as "construction" sets.

Again, I hope the trains are in store. I could get both trains for $245.

Posted by diehardlegofan in United States, 11 Jul 2010 19:03

I'm going to get the World Racers Desert of Destruction and the Toy Story 3 Western Train Chase

Posted by Firehawk2448 in United States, 11 Jul 2010 22:25

I just went today but they don't have the trains in yet or the crossing or the station. They were also sold out of some hero factories. An employee working in the section said they expect a new Lego shipment this week.

Posted by Jonamaster in United States, 11 Jul 2010 22:53

... I wonder if this includes Collectible Minifigures? :D

Posted by fadetoone in United States, 12 Jul 2010 09:40

They are supposedly having an advertised BOGO sale next week too.

Posted by Sky-guardian in United States, 12 Jul 2010 10:04

@Ypres Yeah that probably means it's not in Canada...

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 12 Jul 2010 11:45

I just hope all these BOGOs don't stop once the 2010 Trains and Technic show up in store. That, and before said sets are marked up 5-10% over MSRP.

It sounds like TRU is trying to get rid of their 2009 backstock, so they'll have more room for the new 2010 sets.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 12 Jul 2010 15:48

All the stores are clearing out to make room for the new summer sets.

Posted by MisterFubar in United States, 12 Jul 2010 19:39

None of the new sets really interest me so I picked up a couple of the grey 48x48 baseplates for 26 bucks. Not a bad deal, might go back for a couple more later this week.

I loved the store that I went to. The lady was nice and used the same coupon twice. It is great when you are able to talk a person who understands that people don't always have enough coupons. Really I still bought everything I just was able to buy more.

I got some of Temple of Doom sets (I was nice the left one for the next person). Only problem was that I had to ship the stuff home becauseit would not fit in my luggage.

I wonder how many people actually took advantage of the coupon? If you did take advantage of it what did you buy?

I bought a B-day present for a friend and also got Prince of Persia Desert attack.

The new train sets are available at TRU stores in NYC, but get this...

#7938 - $150.99
#7939 - $209.99

OUCH!!!

THIS IS SWEET! Thanks to this baby, I was able to get all the Hero Factory heroes except Furno! (My brother has Mark Surge and Duncan Bulk, though, and I have Natalie Breez, Preston Stormer, and Jimi Stringer. My brother is getting Furno soon because we just got paid by ma grandma.) (Wink intended).)

i wish once the new star wars stuff came out, they would make a coupon to buy the new sets

Posted by danthaman11 in United States, 13 Jul 2010 21:45

After I saw the above comments about the new trains available in NYC I called my local toys r us and they also had the new trains in stock at msrp with no markup. I live in San Jose, CA area. They also had the train crossing set. I was able to use the coupon and got 2 passengers trains with the second one half off.

Posted by roygal in United States, 13 Jul 2010 21:59

Used this yesterday. You can buy multiple pairs of sets with one coupon in a single transaction. And you get the discount on clearance sets, on TOP of the extra 25% off on clearance!

Posted by TXClark in United States, 13 Jul 2010 22:57

Austin TX Toys R Us had the 2 new Train Sets today. #7939 = $179.00 & #7938 = $129.00 (little cheaper then NYC post above?)

Coupon worked like a charm, they also had the new #7848 Blue TRU Delivery Truck and #7936 Level Crossing in stock

Cool, thank you whoever found this!

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 14 Jul 2010 14:37

"sigh" I wish Uk toysrus would have so many of these sales-we dont get even one.....oh well I feel happy for america :)

Posted by superbrick in United States, 14 Jul 2010 22:59

@Toyz4me
Are you serious? That expensive?
I thought they would sell it for the same price as LEGO, maybe a dollar or two more.
But 30 dollars more? no .

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 14 Jul 2010 23:21

I happily found the Level Crossing at TRU today so I finally had something to pair up with the Octan Tanker. They also had the new Passenger Train along with the TRU Truck. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything to pair up with the TRU Truck so I held off. I didn't find the Cargo Train but we've got 3 days left on the coupon. :o)

In unrelated news, my local Borders recently put out a ton of Shanghai Surprise sets. I hadn't seen them in some time so I picked another up. Some of these Indy sets were just fantastic.

Posted by DHCP1121 in United States, 15 Jul 2010 13:57

I was able to pick up two cargo trains at my local Toys R Us in Illinois. Saved me $90! Both trains were close to MSRP, I think they were a buck or two more.

Posted by KJM72 in United States, 16 Jul 2010 11:04

I used this yesterday to get 4 HF heroes. I was able to separate the purchases and use 2 coupons. Great deal- it was like buying 3, getting the 4th one free. Sure helps when the sets are a little pricey.
