    7734: Cargo Plane
    City/Cargo, 2008
    More details...

If you haven't seen any of the new CITY Cargo sets, including 7731 Mail Van, 7732 Air Mail, 7733 Truck & Forklift, and 7734 Cargo Plane in stores in the U.S., the newest LEGO Magazine has good news for you! The reason these have not been spotted in retail stores in the U.S. yet, is because they are Toys"R"Us exclusives. So head over to your nearest Toys"R"Us to see if they have made their way there yet or, just check out the LEGO Shop website, as they are available there as well.

I've seen those sets in the shop catolog before when i was looking in it.

Posted by shadowaisha, 08 Jan 2008 22:49

Oh goodie, I get to drive father to pay 5 bucks more, good call Lego!

Posted by Commander Bacara, 09 Jan 2008 00:09

*cries* All of them are TRU exclusives???? Darn. I think that 7733 and 7734 look the best, but now I have to drive about 4 miles to the other side of town! Gah!!!! >:-(

Posted by brickzone in Ireland, 09 Jan 2008 06:35

I didn't include these in my new year S@H order (well, I couldn't order *everything* at once!) I really hope they appear retail here in Ireland. I also hope it won't just be an Argos exclusive like Castle was last year. How sad it was to see only three Castle sets available retail here, and consigned to catalog pages rather than toy store shelves.

David 1985 and commander baraca
The reason why you see so many tru exclusives is because thats lego's main store retailer. How many sets have u ever seen in target, walmart, kmart?

Posted by daanton in Canada, 09 Jan 2008 09:38

Will these sets only appear in TOYS'R'US stores in Canada, too?

Posted by madwolf, 09 Jan 2008 11:19

Just a question what lego set should I buy out of the Lego City range excluding the cargo plane (to much £ for so little lego )

Please Help !!!!!!

Thanks

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 09 Jan 2008 13:33

Madwolf, I suggest you buy either the police command center truck (£30) or the Truck and Forklift (£20) they are both extremely good value, especially comapred with the new Star wars Battle packs 8(

Posted by shadowaisha, 09 Jan 2008 14:29

Lego does put out exclusive at Target, Dwarves Mine ring a a bell?

I might give in and buy the truck and forklift, but I'm getting police command center through the mail.

Posted by Pegasi in United States, 09 Jan 2008 14:39

I swear I saw the cargo plane at my target yesterday.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 Jan 2008 15:08

I agree with david(amazingly). TRU does have unreasonably high prices on lego sets. And lego valley, I see more current and better priced sets at target than I do at dumb ol' TRU. And YAY, Air Mail is available1 I just saw it yesterday on the lego website. It looks so neat and reasonably priced! :)

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 09 Jan 2008 17:15

TRU is a few bucks more. A 4.99 Racers Tiny Turbo will sell for 5.99 at TRU. A 9.99 Indy Jones set will sell for 10.99. The 59.99 Fire House at Target is 56.99 at TRU. They are a rip off. It is only a buck here and there but it adds up. They might be the world's biggest toy store there is, gee wiz but their prices are not competitive. I am sure that TRU and Target will begin offering the 08's at a discount around Easter if you can wait a few months. Think about it. How quickly do you build your LEGO sets anyway? I have 4 from Christmas that I haven't opened yet! If you can wait you WILL find a DEAL somewhere.
The Targets by me are discounting the 07 sets at 30% off right now so I will be patient and wait for the discount to be even bigger and if the sets are still there it was meant to be. If not oh well, I have pretty much every set I wanted from last year except for the Racers Bullet Run and the Creator Big Rig set.

I will be heading out to TRU tonight while I am at Best Buy to see if TRU has any of the cargo sets in stock. Get back to the group later to report on prices at TRU for the cargo sets.

Posted by jellylikepie in Japan, 10 Jan 2008 04:44

well my local TRU is 30 min. away and dont have time to go their for another month but im gonna get 7734

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 10 Jan 2008 06:36

TRU had not a single Carago set. Not that I am doubting the original bricksetter's info at all, it is just that TRU didn't have the Cargo sets.

AS for the Target 30% off, it isn't a sale, the sets are on CLEARANCE which means Target doesn't want these sets taking up shelf space anymore. How do they make sure these sets get out of the store, mark them down! In the past, I have bought countless sets for 75% off! If the sets don't sell right away, they are reduced even further by their computer systems. Bought the Bridge Chase for 9.99, not 39.99, bought 2 of the 10.00 Racers for 2.48, bought 3 Final Jousts for 1.98, not 7.99. I can't tell you how many Racers TT's I've bought for .98! Now is the time to check for the 07's to be marked down. The 3 Targets by me have dedicated a few aisles in the toy section to Clearance toys and you have to go through them to find the LEGO. I found marked down toys in the seasonal section alongside the Christmas clearance as well. I couldn't believe how many toys were marked down. Check it out, it might be worth the trip. I could have gotten the rescue copter for 13.48, a few aqua raiders, a mosaic, the Magorium set for 10.48 instead of 14.99 (or 20 bucks from LEGO). I will be going to a few Targets this weekend to see what I can find.
Happy hunting!

But you can always get more. ;)

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 13 Jan 2008 09:37

I went to a Target last night and didn't see any clearance LEGO. They were out of Indy sets, the new Creator House but had the ExoForce sets there. I hope to get to at least 1 more Target today to check if the sets I had my eye on are still there.

Posted by SillyQuack in United States, 13 Jan 2008 11:04

Target. Yes, I would say they have almost ALL 2008 sets.

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 13 Jan 2008 18:43

my target has all the o7 sets still but no 08's

Posted by smiley905 in Canada, 13 Jan 2008 19:46

my tru has the exo force, racers, bionicles creator set but no starwars or indy sets! i got the brown phantaka while i was there its a 5 realy cool

Posted by mtow~255000 in United States, 13 Jan 2008 23:11

Absolutely nothing at target here. I could see maybe 5 or 6 of the 2008 sets and that was it.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 16 Jan 2008 18:46

The real Retail price is pretty much what LEGO charges in the Shop @ Home website and catalog. This is how we can see that TRU is upping the price and charging us more than Target for example.
The TRU by me still has not received the Cargo sets. They have the Exo-Force, Creator 3 in 1 Train, Tiny Turbos, Creator Creatures, and up until last week they also had the Indy sets but now I haven't seen them there in about 2 weeks.

TRU, K-Mart and KB don't have the purchasing power of Target or Wal-Mart. Obviously if the store is buying more products from LEGO, they can ask for a better deal than the smaller stores. It is like shopping at a Wholesale Club like BJ's, Costco or Sam's Club. The more you buy, the cheaper the item becomes.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 16 Jan 2008 22:39

I agree with mister bmw on the RRP. :)

Posted by brickzone in Ireland, 17 Jan 2008 15:33

Just a heads up for any Irish readers (if there are any). Smyth's (www.toys.ie) now has the Cargo line not only stocked but on the shelves, apart from the truck and forklift set. I just bought the post van and airmail plane (€8 and €12 respectively; the Cargo plane is €50 which is reasonable but I've bought a lot of other Lego this month).

Time for some building!

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 19 Jan 2008 20:00

This week I bought the following sets at Target for $4.88 (7772 Lobster Strike Aquaraiders, and 7903 Rescue Copter. I also bought the Mr. Magorium's Wonder Imporium for $3.88 and the 7771 Aquaraiders for 2.48). I bought the 3828 Avatar Air Temple for 12.99, the Batcopter for 20.00 and the Bat Tank for 15.00 at TJ Maxx. These sets would have cost me 180 bucks but by shopping around and it only cost me roughly 75 bucks! Needless to say, I got some great bargains and I will be patient and wait to buy the '08 sets that I want (Creator Beach House and the 50th Anniversary Lego Town Plan set). Hopefully the Beach House will go on sale soon around Easter and I can convince my wife to buy me the Town Plan for Valentine's Day :-)

*Different Subject*
Does anybody know where to find the new impulse sets?
*Respond wanted*

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 26 Jan 2008 13:32

Other than S@H I haven't seen any Impulse sets in stores. You would think these sets would be on sale at Supermarkets but I haven't seen them anywhere.

Posted by jon11380 in United Kingdom, 27 Jan 2008 03:16

I have seen a few of the city impulse sets in the lego store in Milton Keynes (uk). May get street cleaner to go out side 10185 green grocers when it is released.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 27 Jan 2008 15:16

I hate this. I live as far away from a Lego store as you can get while still being in the UK, so I've never gone to one!

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 27 Jan 2008 16:20

We don't even have a lego store in new zealand.

Posted by benners30 in Canada, 19 Feb 2008 10:38
