    8404: Public Transport Station
    City/Traffic, 2010
    More details...

While City Public Transport shows as being in stock, the site won't yet let me add it to my cart.  Additionally, they've added the Imperial Flagship as well as the Emporium, both of which are in stock.  If only they had been available last week, these would have been great for the all-inclusive BOGO 50% Off sale.

Update #1: City Public Transport now shows as being out of stock.  :o(

Did you see the prize?

Posted by Sky-guardian in United States, 19 Jul 2010 12:17

i just checked and it said in stock

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 19 Jul 2010 12:41

I had already seen the 99.99 euros price in Eurobrick's review of Public Transportation, so I suspected it would cost $99.99 here. It's a shame because comparing this set to the City Corner parts-wise, I expected this set to be no more than $79.99.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 19 Jul 2010 12:54

The Canadian TRU website had the price and image of a lot of the new Lego for quite a while. Surprisingly the US site is always more advanced, yet Canada's gets updates faster.

I too think Public Transport is over-priced. But it is TRU we're dealing with, don't be too surprised.

Posted by superbrick in United States, 19 Jul 2010 13:24

99.99 for public transport? I could get the shuttle for that much and it has 400 more pieces
it is a shame because i really like that set :(

Posted by peoplesfarmer7 in United States, 19 Jul 2010 13:27

I just ordered it from toysrus.com, was in stock and should be here in a few days

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 19 Jul 2010 15:00

If price is a concern, you can pair it up with an Airport or Atlantis Portal and get it for $50 this week! :o)

Posted by bic3 in United Kingdom, 19 Jul 2010 15:49

@Legocity1 - Legoland Windsor has a good stockpile of the Public Transport set but sadly you won't be able to find the Grand Emporium or Imperial Flagship there as the park isn't owned by Lego.

Posted by vader11 in United States, 19 Jul 2010 16:31

It said "There are currently no item(s) in your Shopping Cart." when I press the add to chart button for #8404.><

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 19 Jul 2010 16:49

interesting. the pictures of the new starwars sets and the hero factory sets has disappeared on the tru canada site....

Posted by Sapan in United States, 19 Jul 2010 19:26

It shows as in stock but the set doesn't get added to the cart! Has anybody else successfully ordered it?

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 19 Jul 2010 22:38

Shows out of stock here, also the new excavator :/

Posted by supersympa in Sweden, 20 Jul 2010 03:56

I just checked with TRU scandinavia, and it will be available after the summer.
I do not know the price...but we should base ourselves on the EUR price i guess...

Posted by af.riem in Netherlands, 20 Jul 2010 04:50

I've bought the set a few days ago, when I was in Germany for a day.
The set is 99.99 euros.

Posted by vulpixsmi in United Kingdom, 20 Jul 2010 05:21

when will this set come out in the uk?

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 20 Jul 2010 09:15

i dont think the price is too high. yeah sure it looks to be a 50.00 at first but then after looking at it for a while you see its worth more. oh and BTW US S@H is selling hero factory, they are so cheap!

Posted by gonknoggin in United States, 20 Jul 2010 09:53

8404 is now also available at S&H, at least in certain countries. I checked Germany and there it is in stock. Price also 99.99 Euro, like at TRU.

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 20 Jul 2010 11:38

@ yellowcastle - Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I'm most likely only going to buy Public Transport if it's part of a BOGO 50% sale though at the moment, I don't have the money nor do I know what $99.99 set I would buy along with it seeing as I like the older airport I already own and the Atlantis portal doesn't interest me. I'll have to wait until a sale that includes all Lego since my local store does still have some decent non-City/Atlantis $99.99 sets.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 20 Jul 2010 11:41

it is no longer avalible any more!

Posted by Sapan in United States, 20 Jul 2010 12:27

Never mind, it now shows as out of stock.

Posted by Legoluch in United Kingdom, 20 Jul 2010 15:01

a $99.99 price point for this set is just insane! for around 800 pieces, this should be $50-60, considering that they dont need licenses like the Star Wars sets.

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 20 Jul 2010 15:44

I Just Went to the Modesto TRU & They Didn't Have anything New Besides the HF Sets. They Had all The Heroes, Rotor, Furno Bike, & all The $13 Villians Except Thunder (My Fave! D:) I Was happily Able to Purchase Heroes, Preston Stormer & Mark Surge. :) (Both Very Good Sets if you're Wondering!)

P.S. The Skopio is Now 50% Off ($44.98) on S@H. :o
Update: The Cendox, Baranus & Thornatus are in Stock & 50% off as Well! :)

New At-at is now available on tru.com

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 21 Jul 2010 12:25

I had a chance to see the new At-At yesterday at our TRU. It seems nice enough, though I still can't figure out the figure assortment. I also noticed that 2 of it's turbolasers are shovels turned backwards. :o) And unfortunately, they didn't have the Mass Transportation Set. Perhaps later this week...

On an unrelated note, I had a chance to see the forthcoming UCS Lamda Class Shuttle this weekend and was very impressed, though it might be too big to be swoopable. :o) I can't wait until September!

Posted by roar15 in United States, 21 Jul 2010 19:33

I was in the Comstock Park, MI (Grand Rapids area) TRU today and saw all the new star wars sets except the shuttle. I was happy I walked to the end of the isle to check the end cap where they stock the Lego mp3 players and digital cameras.... There were over 40 of the Toy Story 3 poly bag alien sets (30070). I bought 2 (1 for my son and one to maybe trade for the Woody's boot camp set - 30072). I left 41 of them hanging on the hooks at 4:00pm today.

Almost forgot, they were $3.99

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 21 Jul 2010 21:30

^ 41? Did you Count Them? o_0

Posted by jacksonb526 in United States, 21 Jul 2010 21:44

City Public Transport is SOLD OUT?

Posted by roar15 in United States, 21 Jul 2010 22:26

As a matter of fact.... I did count them. :)

Posted by Sapan in United States, 22 Jul 2010 10:30

The public transport is now in stock if anybody wants it.

Posted by stevenli in United States, 22 Jul 2010 14:22

Sold out again....while I was checking out no less :(

Posted by hdi1066 in Switzerland, 23 Jul 2010 23:54

Just odered two sets of the City Public Transport on TRU website and it went through (in stock, applied the BOGO!)....sweeeet!

Posted by sixstix1 in United States, 24 Jul 2010 15:56

And again it is sold out. I checked last night and it was unavailable, but right now it says available with the Add-to-cart error.

Posted by jackmap in United States, 24 Jul 2010 16:39

I swear the TRU site is glitching, it keeps going in and out of stock, and yet, even when it is in stock, I still can't order it... =(

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 24 Jul 2010 19:16

Hi all,
In the Chicagoland burbs I called four TRU's and found out this:
It appears, at least in my area of Chicago (western burbs) that the 8404 are only available (sporadically) online right now. The TRU lego trucks are not common to find either, I found one store had 5, another had 1 and the other two I checked had none, by the time I called back the first store they were down to 3, they were nice enough to hold two for me (so I could get the best deal in BOGO)that and I picked up a couple of the Train repair vehicle/crossing sets (I wish they had the new train stations). I would have been mad that I ordered two cargo trains online when I found them at a local store had it not been for the free shipping.

Also a reminder, you buy one and get one half off, really you are getting 25% off of a lego set (if you buy the same one or one of equal value). So it really is best to buy the bigger sets if you can to get the best value (such as the enormously priced Cargo train) and two of the same. Usually BOGO, at least in my experience, is ALWAYS limited online to one set, maybe two sets of deals. As for the 8404 I happened to check TRU online last night (around 6pm) and saw them available. So I think there is either an inventory issues with their site, or they are adding them in as they process them in the warehouse. I too saw the ability to add to cart but got a quantity of zero. be patient, as they are a better price at $75, then 100, same with most of the 100 dollar sets IMO.

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 24 Jul 2010 19:27

Oh I also have seen the Slave 1 at the TRU by me.. Sweet, not too expensive, but then again it is one fig less than the last Slave-1 for 10 dollars more I believe. Ill be waiting for that to be a BOGO or Buy two and third is free deals (although with the way Lego has been in popularity I'm not sure Lego will be doing one of those anytime soon)
Lego is getting crazy with their SW prices... I guess you have to squeeze the stone for all it is worth....

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 24 Jul 2010 19:29

Has anyone seen a 3222 (helicopter and limo) at a TRU or Lego store? I cannot find them in the US so far, are the EUR only? Thanks

Posted by cjg in United States, 24 Jul 2010 21:02

A GREEN BIKE!!!!!!!!!! :D

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 24 Jul 2010 23:59

@madforlegos: You Really are, "mad for legos" ;)
Oh And, roar15, I am Quite Confused Why you'd waste you're Time Counting Them. For What purpose did you Do it? for Brickset Alone? Just Sayin'..........

Posted by fredolego in France, 25 Jul 2010 08:18

@madforlegos: 3222 is not EUR only and is really hard to find in my area too, I'm in France.

Posted by cjg in United States, 25 Jul 2010 14:05

BTW: City Public Transport is out of stock again.

Posted by DOLEGO1986 in United Kingdom, 26 Jul 2010 07:09

I saw this set in Toys R Us in Swansea in the UK!!!
Unfortunately I didn't have £99.99 on me at the time!

Posted by Tantive IV in Denmark, 26 Jul 2010 07:45

Nice Set

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 26 Jul 2010 17:12

@madforlegos: weird i live in canada and they have it for 39.95 at walmart

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 26 Jul 2010 17:46

ceroknight you have seen 3222?

Posted by roar15 in United States, 26 Jul 2010 18:42

Crt2 - Yes, it was pretty much just to post the info so people had an idea of how many were showing up (I got them on a Wed and that is the day my TRU puts new stock out). It sounds like a lot, but they were only spread across 4-5 pegs. Not really much counting or time spent doing it.

Posted by hdi1066 in Switzerland, 26 Jul 2010 20:56

got an email from TRU today where they nicely cancelled my order for the transport set! what a shame!

Posted by aplbomr79 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 01:12

I was looking forward to this set... but at a price tag of $99? That seems pretty steep in comparison to the City Corner set (7641)... I realize that there is a number of vehicles, but the City Corner had 3 buildings! And at a cost of $59 usd! It is hard to compare each set, but the 'buildings' in this City Transport set are rudimentary at best. I would understand a $79usd price - but to best the City Corner by $40 is OUTRAGEOUS!

Instead I found the City Garage at Walmart for $89.84; and that includes 3 vehicles, multiple base plates, 4 minifigs, and a load of bricks (over 900 I believe). I hope that Lego (and TRU) wise up and realize that there is a world-wide recession happening. Not all of us have the cabbage to purchase this type of set for that amount of money.

I guess I will pass on the City Transport... maybe the price will settle after the hype wears off.

Posted by linlsw in Taiwan, Province of China, 27 Jul 2010 09:38

hdi1066 - What's the excuse used by TRU to cancel your order? I am also waiting for mine and it's still showing "processing"...

Posted by Sapan in United States, 27 Jul 2010 15:53

Well, it's in stock and in carts again.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 27 Jul 2010 16:18

@R4-G9: yes the helicopter and limousine i didnt buy it though but my local walmart has TONS of them

Posted by hdi1066 in Switzerland, 28 Jul 2010 11:23

ok, here the funny thing; I had ordered 2 of the City Transport with the BOGO; then I got the confirmation of the order having gone through; then I received the cancellation of the order but funnily enough only of the one for the full price and no mentioning of the one for the half price. So I was waiting and today I received one set (guess the one at half price!). So now the big wait if they really are going to charge me and if so how much 'cause as of now there is nothing on my CC. Looks like a great deal?!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 28 Jul 2010 13:44

@ceroknight - perhaps the Helo/Limo is a Walmart exclusive?

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 28 Jul 2010 16:43

i just went to my local walmart, and they had 8099, and 3222. they both had limited edition on them.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 28 Jul 2010 18:56

@yellowcastle no actually i went to my TRU and they had it for 55!!!! RIPOFF
Maybe a canada exclusive ;P
also I saw most of the lego Games and all the herofactory villans no heroes though
