So far, I believe the only confirmed sighting of these out in the wild is at LEGOLAND Billund (but correct me if I am wrong). [Update: They have been seen elsewhere now; read the comments to find out where!]

So, the barcodes are now known, and as I mentioned on Sunday, bricks.inof.de has updated its downloadable PDF crib-sheets to include them.

I've added the individual figs here and also the barcodes, so Mobile Brickset is ready to be used for scanning and identifying them.

By the way, I still haven't resolved the problem with the figs from the collectable minifigures not appearing in your minifig collection here. It's made difficult by the fact that sense didn't prevail at BrickLink and all 16 variants of 8683 still have just one catalogue entry there, and as you know we get our minifig data from BrickLink. I will try and come up with a robust means of manually making the connection between set numbers and figures to solve it once and for all. [Update: this is now resolved. Collectable figs will now show up in your minfig collection: Refresh your collection on the My Sets tab and they'll be added]

(Thanks to the Ugly Duckiling at BrickLink for providing the minifig images for series 2. If you have an interest in minifigs, be sure to read his blog, it's one of the best out there)

In Sweden you can buy them from Hikmet (http://www.hikmet.se/Group.aspx?Group=2931) already, and they're not horribly expensive. 18.95 SEK (roughly £1.70) for one, or 1098 SEK (£97) for a box of 60. Shipping outside of Sweden might be possible (you'd have to email them and ask) but it would probably not be cheap.

Posted by JamesBenjamin in United States, 27 Jul 2010 06:41

Yeah, every other day someone posts on Bricklink about getting even series 1 listed correctly. It's really a joke. I've sold a bunch on eBay but none on Bricklink thanks to nobody knowing how to list/find them.

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 27 Jul 2010 06:54

Ha... Bricklink messing things up COMPLETELY! Funny...

Posted by BioFreak877 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 07:03

Huw, didn't you mention something earlier in the collectable minifig craze about a trading station here on brickset? That might become useful for a bunch of people since 32 minifigs are now out.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 27 Jul 2010 07:32

@BioFreak, I did think about it but it would be a lot of work. ToysNBricks have a trading section for the figs in their forum: http://toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=759 which sort of meets the need anyway.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 11:26

Can't wait until these are in the U.S. Still not sure when they'll be here.

Posted by j25727 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 11:53

they r gonna go faster the the 1st series, i just hope these parts come out in other sets, they would look great in diff colors

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 27 Jul 2010 12:07

I`m hoping to get the whole set cause I`m only collecting these and atlantis
@Carnigee77 aren`t they supposed to be out in Canada and the U.S. in last august early september..

Posted by Rabbitspook in United States, 27 Jul 2010 12:14

My only hope is that production and distribution will be better the 2nd time around. Otherwise, Lego faces another onslaught of angry e-mails from childrens' parents!

Posted by BioFreak877 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 12:58

Ah i see. It was a very good idea though!

@JamesBenjamin: Actually, You Can List The, Say, Clown, on His Sale page.

These CMs Look Very Good. Hopefully, I Can at Least Get a Few for Some of My Comics! :)

There was a small review of the minifigs last week at EB, including mug shots: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44547
The box was bought in a store in Sweden.

PS: Who do LEGO send out promo-images where some of the minifigs are so heavily photoshoped (Like the skiier with it's bent legs http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/8684-12.jpg ) I'm not sure I like it at all.

Posted by Centurius in Norway, 27 Jul 2010 13:33

Just bought a box of series 2 at a local toy store in Tromsoe Norway today.

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 14:55

^Excuse Me While I Scream.

Ah......That was Refreshing. Now, Centurius, Which one is Your Favorite? Are They Worth Buying?

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 27 Jul 2010 15:49

@ superkalle10: Thy aren't photoshoped. At least, I don't think so. Someone probably cut them out of a image and got rid of the transparent pixels that make the image look bad (I know. I used to work on giving things from Browser games white backgrounds, which included cropping them a lot).

Posted by southpaw in United States, 27 Jul 2010 15:51

The pics at eurobricks are great. Any news yet on series 3???

Posted by Superkalle in Sweden, 27 Jul 2010 16:23

@ I like Lego - I think you misunderstood me: When I mean photoshop'd, I meant manipulated. If you look at the skiers legs in the picture I linked to, you'll see what I mean - the legs are bent like they were flexible. That's cheating :-)

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 27 Jul 2010 17:19

Based on Series 1, I'd imagine we (USA) may start to see them at TRU in 3 to 4 weeks. I'm still amazed that Series 1 never really materialized in the U.S. outside of TRU and Borders, especially seeing as how Target and Walmart sold them overseas.

Posted by joedapoboy in United States, 27 Jul 2010 17:41

@ yellowcastle - For real. I thought the lag was only about 2 weeks though. but then again I might have just been too surprised at release before the official date. not keeping close track besides looking forward to it.

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 27 Jul 2010 18:11

@ yellowcastle: Target or Walmart may have stocked up on them in the U.S. and is waiting to sell them when series 2 is released. I don't know why they would, but it's a possibility.

Anyway, I'm hoping these will show up more in the U.S., or at least more than series 1 since those were so hard to find because of profiteers who want to make a quick buck instead of people who are buying them to keep.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 27 Jul 2010 18:33

@ yellowcastle - In reality, Series 1 *did* show up at other stores in the U.S., it's just that they were only around for a very limited amount of time (less than a week) because those (like me) who wanted them called their local toy stores ahead of time and received notification when they came in. When I got mine in a nearby toy store, there was also another collector there who had also been notified by phone, but the next week, the store received THREE more boxes! I guess this just means you have to really be on top of getting these before they come out because Lego produced them in such low quantities to meet the demand. It's really too bad though.... I wish more people who wanted these were able to get them when they were still around.

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 27 Jul 2010 20:30

I wish those people would quit buying whole cases and selling the extras online (there's 60 minifigs in a case, that's 44 extras). They think it will save them from trying to guess and it'll get them money. But those cases cost probably about $90, at $2 a bag and 60 bags in the case. There would be less bags in a case that's not new, and cost less. They're spending all that money, and getting it back when they sell the minifigs. If they keep some or not, they're not really making any money. They spend $90 on a new case. If they keep 16 and sell the rest, they're cancelling out $58 of the $90 they spent. So it's like they spent $32 (they're actually losing money, not gaining it). If they sell the whole case, they cancel out all the money they spent. So it's like they didn't spend anything (and didn't get anything either). It doesn't help them, and it doesn't help us either. They were the main reason Series 1 sold out so quickly. When I wanted to get Series 1, it was sold out by then. Now I have to get them off Bricklink. When Series 2 comes out, I'm going to get some as soon as possible. I'm going to tell what's in what bag with my secret method, and it's not reading the barcodes. It's a little obvious, I'm surprised nobody else thought of it. Maybe some other people did and aren't sharing it like I am. When Series 2 comes out,(or if it's out now where you are) if you see any case-buyers, try to convince them not to buy the case. And if you are a case-buyer, STOP! We want those minfigs too, you know.

Posted by Kobacca in United States, 27 Jul 2010 21:13

So are they still cheap plastic?

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 27 Jul 2010 22:48

what is the item number for these in the TRU system?

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 27 Jul 2010 22:50

@ Bodyguards17 - Wow! That's amazing that Series 2 is already available over here. No offense, but it's almost too good to be true that I'm a little skeptical. I wish you could upload pics somewhere of the minifigures and the plastic wrappers showing the barcodes since I assume they will be different than the European barcodes. Even if you've only got a few out of the 16, knowing just a few of the barcodes would help us all tremendously. Thanks.

Posted by Rabbitspook in United States, 27 Jul 2010 22:53

According to Bodyguard17's profile, he's in Oklahoma!
I find it odd that of all the 50 states, Oklahoma would be one of the first to get the series 2 figs.
I'll be calling my Toys R Us tomorrow to check for sure.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 27 Jul 2010 22:57

@bodyguard17: pity....

Posted by Uno Brick in United States, 27 Jul 2010 22:58

Yes, I hope Series 2 will be made widely available, especially at more common retailers like Target or Walmart. As for me, I'm going after multiples of the Karate Master, simply for the two golden minifigure, or should I say, micro microfigure statues.

Posted by Rabbitspook in United States, 27 Jul 2010 23:00

Bodyguards17 - would you be so kind as to snap some pics of the barcodes. Thanks.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 27 Jul 2010 23:39

I'm skeptical as well but it can't hurt to be on the lookout.

Posted by nicjansma in United States, 28 Jul 2010 04:10

I've updated the Minifig Collector Android app to include the EUR series 2 barcode. You can also see the US series 2 minifigs, but scanning won't work until the UPCs are known.

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 28 Jul 2010 06:03

@bodyguards17, congrats!
You are very lucky. Can you help us by giving us the Toys R Us item number? We can use it to find what TRU has the minifigs in the US. Here is a link to a TRU receipt, http://www.albany.edu/~ec629426/receipt.jpg

The item number in this example is 936302 or 050185

Take a look at your receipt, the TRU item number is a 6 digit number on the left of the receipt. Thanks

Greetings from Norway! Guess what? Just bought the complete series from the local toy store in Mandal.

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 28 Jul 2010 09:26

isn`t it possible to scan them at the store to figure it out?
@minifig051 i know your comment was a while ago but how would they lose money? They would easily gain money because people sell them for $5-10 each.
I would buy a case but I`m not going to spend my money on a whole case. Im calling my local toy stores soon

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 28 Jul 2010 09:56

Can't believe my last post wasn't listed, I also would like proof from Bodyguards17. BTW I was only curious as everyone else was/is on here to know what part of the US series has been spotted.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 28 Jul 2010 10:08

I talked to my local TRU and they said Series 2 may be in stock Jul 30! Check out Eurobricks for the minifig pics matched with their barcodes!

Posted by Rabbitspook in United States, 28 Jul 2010 10:11

Just called the nearest Toys R Us and they said they didn't expect to have any for 2-3 weeks.
Btw, I live near Cincinnati, Ohio. Maybe certain parts of the country will get these before other parts?

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 28 Jul 2010 10:19

They said not likely, but I'm going to check anyways.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 28 Jul 2010 10:22

My local toy store(Learning Express) said not till September, so I'm going to try Borders.

Borders-3-4 weeks

Posted by The Beast in United States, 28 Jul 2010 10:28

I live in Massachusetts and my local Learning Express got in a ton of boxes of series one before thye were ever spotted at TRU. I am going to go over and see when they get the new ones and buy them immediately. The only problem is that they are 3$ per packet but still WELL worth it. Who buys their minifigures off of ebay. It is much easier to either go to a toy store the moment they are released and get them or to trade for them. I use the barcodes and am able to get the whole series for 48$. It may seem a little expensive but I have saved up my allowance for a long time now.

Posted by Rabbitspook in United States, 28 Jul 2010 10:40

Called all my other local toy stores, none of them have any in stock and said they didn't know when they would get any in the future.

Posted by brickmatt in United States, 28 Jul 2010 11:45

My TRU (in Indiana) said yesterday that they hoped to have some more in on Friday, and to check back then. I'll post back here if they have series 2 - although I'd still be happy with series 1 because I don't yet have an Indian!

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 28 Jul 2010 11:46

Wow - Series 2 is out in Oklahoma, but not other places. I wonder if they're out where I live on the East Coast...? Anybody know?

Posted by Mathtrains in United States, 28 Jul 2010 12:30

Have any of these been spotted in the Austin, Texas area?

Posted by cjg in United States, 28 Jul 2010 12:42

Any in WA?

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 28 Jul 2010 12:44

@jlegofan / Rabbitspook - Did your TRU happen to confirm for you the "TRU Item Number" for the Series 2 minifigures? This might make it easier for people to check with their local TRU's.

Posted by Jaladir in Canada, 28 Jul 2010 13:42

Has anyone seen the minifigs in Canada yet?

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 28 Jul 2010 13:43

You lucky norwegians... :P I can't wait till these come out!!!

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 28 Jul 2010 13:57

Jaladir not a single tru in canada has them, but they are being shiped, and the tru stores in canada should be getting 120000 minifig altoghter in the first shipment, so it looks like lego did produce more than the first series, and my local tru said that they would keep getting series 2 until they were discontinued.

Posted by Uno Brick in United States, 28 Jul 2010 15:00

My local Borders may have carried Series 1 at some point. When I visited and asked, they said they had just received a shipment from LEGO moments ago and had the boxes in their back room. They said they wouldn't be unpacked until the next morning, and they said to check back the next day. I didn't manage to go the next morning, but it's likely they had it, so I've got high hopes that they'll have series 2 as well.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 28 Jul 2010 15:04

@Uno Brick - I procured most of my Series 1 figures from Borders so I agree that they'll likely carry Series 2 as well. The only drawback was the 50% markup they were charging. The plus, however, is that Borders consistently emails its Members great coupons.

Posted by ingerliseh in Norway, 28 Jul 2010 15:05

First time in history we in the cold nord got them before USA hurra hurra

Posted by Uno Brick in United States, 28 Jul 2010 15:15

@yellowcastle: Yes, the coupons take care of the markups nicely, only leaving a small bit. However, I suppose those few cents are well worth it, rather than searching for regular retail (or even more impossible, cheaper) CMs.

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 28 Jul 2010 15:37

[Post Edited by Yellowcastle]

But there's ways to know what's in a bag before you buy it. There's the barcode reading way, with either the Andriod phone app or having them printed out on paper and comparing the numers under the bars. Then there's my secret way but I guess I can tell you so people stop buying cases. It'll also come in handy for Series 3, where the barcodes are all the same. It may be the only way to tell what's in the bag for Series 3 when it comes out. So I'll tell you what it is so it could make this easier for all of us: feel the bags. Every minifig has at least one part that's only in that bag. I haven't tried it yet, but I imagine it'll work. Let's keep this method just between Brickset members because if too many people use this method, Lego might think up a way to stop it, like putting 8 random ones in a box or something. The main reason I'm saying this is for case buyers (who buy cases for the reason shown above) to stop.

@minifig051 - "Feeling the Bags" doesn't Work. The Bags are too Stiff. Here is The Link to The UD Review of 13# Spaceman (Scroll down to "Feeling it Out" Section),

Posted by grendelscott in United States, 28 Jul 2010 16:14

Every time I went to the Lego store and they had series one in stock, there were at least half a dozen people there feeling the bags. It's not really a secret.

For people in AZ, I checked the Scottsdale TRU location today, and they didn't have any minis. I was hoping to get lucky on my day off and find some. Still hoping to miraculously find series one somewhere, so I can try to get the remaining minis for a set for my niece. Wish I would have know how crazy this would turn out to be and bought the series one boxes I saw at TRU in May :(.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 28 Jul 2010 17:15

@minifig051 / Crt2 - Please remember to keep your posts civil. Going forward, I'll just delete them as opposed to editing them.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 28 Jul 2010 17:59

@yellowcastle- No, my TRU did not confirm the item number. I'll ask them when I check back with them on Thursday.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 28 Jul 2010 18:04

However, I'm not sure if this TRU shipment on Thursday will be Series 1 or Series 2. I'm guessing Series 2 but that does seem a little early.

Posted by Agreenbrick in Sweden, 28 Jul 2010 18:33

Yes! I now have all of them, and I got them all here in sweden! There were like four boxes of series two spread around the toystore, and with a cheat sheet and help from my dad, I now have them all right behind me on the livingroom table! It's a wonderful feeling having every fig in both series!

Posted by astronautravi in United States, 28 Jul 2010 18:39

My TRU should get the CMFs in tomorrow or so.

Today, when hunting for CMFs, I found the alien promo set. Yes, the TS3 one at TRU for $3.99! Awesome... There were about 50 at the end of the aisle where there are the LEGO watches. Definite buy for the alien.

Posted by xena6296 in United States, 28 Jul 2010 18:48

For those already got the CMs Series 2, is there a limit of 5? like the Series 1.

Posted by brickmatt in United States, 28 Jul 2010 18:53

Feeling the bag might work in some cases, but it is difficult. The main difficulty is that there is the baseplate and the fold out paper with the list of all the minifigures in the series. It's hard to feel the pieces around those. It can be done; I was able to identify a couple of pieces from the extra forestman I bought. But, for series 1 and 2 at least, barcodes are easier.

Posted by camoran in China, 28 Jul 2010 18:53

@astronautravi - Thats right. I already bought several for myself and my cousins last week. Cheaper to get the Alien other than buying the magnet set. But I wonder if TRU will have Woody and Buzz later.

I asked someone in TRU in Mesa AZ when they are getting the minig series 2 and they said they guessed sometime in October. I don't think that's right but I thought I'd share this here.

Posted by Redanubis in United States, 28 Jul 2010 22:33

I work at a Lego store and feeling them out is not that Hard. Each one tends to have at least a helmet or hair plus the accessory. It takes time but it works. I helped customers all the time. Of course that was before Parents started printing out the barcode sheets. The only ones that were hard to feel out was the Zombie and Crash Test Dummy.

Posted by andrew pym in United Kingdom, 29 Jul 2010 02:58

The Lego Mini figure Identifier has had the S2 figures barcodes in the app for well over a week now, search for it on the market or visit: http://sites.google.com/site/legomfi/

Posted by vaasa in Norway, 29 Jul 2010 03:19

The trick with feeling them out is to hold the bag vertically and isolate what's common to all the figures (baseplate, torso, head and feet) on the top half with your left hand. Shake a little, and voila, the accesory will be at the bottom, ready to be felt out with my right hand. I had no problem identyfiyng the Zombie by the shovel or the Dummy by the licenseplate. The only one I'm missing now is the nurse. Going out to buy all the Spartans I can get now as I see here at the forum that series 2 is out in Norway.

Any update on sightings in Canada?
I've call the Playvalue shop in Ottawa and they still hope to get them for September :(
Hopefully they will be available in TRU and WallMart in Montreal (where I got my serie 1).
My girlfriend son is eager to get them as much as I am if not more then me! ;)

On another note
Anyone working on the Serie 2 check list for North America?

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 29 Jul 2010 09:58

tzi well tru doesn't have them yet.

Posted by Tzi in Canada, 29 Jul 2010 10:30

Same for Playvalue, the owner seemed to be surprise to know they were already available in the US.
Seems we will need to wait untill September or late August, unless they become available in my case in the state of Vermont, where I could pay a quick visit...

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 29 Jul 2010 11:48

@Tzi - Sightings in the U.S. have still not been confirmed. But based on the chatter, the sentiment seems to be that Series 2 could be available sooner than initially expected. I'll be sure to post the North American barcodes as soon as I find the minifigures, assuming that someone hasn't beaten me to the punch by then. :o)

Hopefully someone in the EU that has already picked up a box can let us know what the complement of figures is per box. :o)

erol312006: I called the Tatum & 101 Barnes and Noble and they said that they never had Series 2 in stock, are you sure you didn't mean Series 1.
They also said to check back because they were changing displays around.
I'm unsure whether sightings in AZ are for real or just people trying to build up more hype (as if any is need about these minifigs!)

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 29 Jul 2010 13:03

erol312006: I agree with you on the "blow off" attitude you get from the TRU employees around here, I think you really have to do the travelling and spend the gas to see for yourself, I wasn't trying to imply that you were lying about getting Series 2 because it sounds as though you are getting the same response from stores as I am.

Posted by skyscraper in United States, 29 Jul 2010 13:30

as expected nothing yet in Everett Washington, no news about when either.I'm actually getting decent service from the employees though at TRU.

@yellowcastle: Sorry, Forgot My Manners. :P

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 29 Jul 2010 14:24

I went to TRU to see what they got in their shipment. No minifigs. :( They said that some ToysrUs stores will get them and some won't. I also tried Borders again. No luck there either.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 29 Jul 2010 14:29

@wildcherryp3psi- I don't think these "sightings" of minifigs in AZ and OK are true. All the stores I've talked to said that no one will get them in for 3-4 weeks. I don't understand why some states would get them before others.

Posted by chicagorando in United States, 29 Jul 2010 15:21

@jlegofan - I have to agree with you. I have trouble believing these sightings as well. If the Series 2 minifigs really were available at some places in the US, you would think they'd be showing up on ebay. But last time I checked, only a couple sellers from the UK were selling Series 2 on ebay.

Posted by tylox15 in United States, 29 Jul 2010 15:25

I am in Oklahoma, I went minifigure hunting today..........nothing! I was told 3-4 weeks also.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 29 Jul 2010 15:52

Misinformation on Series 2 availability in the States definitely seems to be afoot. Whether it's due to simple mistakes or "mischief making" is not for me to say. But as I noted earlier, it never hurts to be on the lookout. I will be sure to let everyone know the moment I find them, after of course I've picked up a "few" for myself. ;o)

Posted by cvillone in United States, 29 Jul 2010 15:59

** NO MINIFIGS IN THE US **

I have to agree with yellowcastle, I just called the Barnes and Noble mentioned in Arizona as having them and spoke to Cliff. He said he has had 3 calls already asking for Lego minifigs and he said he doesn't have them. I asked if he ever had them and he said no. So unless someone posts a pic with them and the minifgs I can't believe them. Also my local TRU said they would get them at the end of August.

Posted by BRICKDAD in United States, 29 Jul 2010 16:09

Barnes and Noble in Temecula, Ca has no idea about the minifigures. My local Toysrus did say that they will have them tomorrow (we will see). Typically Legoland in California has items before Lego releases them. I did not see anything as of 7-24-10.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 29 Jul 2010 16:21

@R4-G9 - Thank you for providing the box composition.

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 29 Jul 2010 17:44

Seems like I'm not the only one with doubts about the Series 2 being sighted in the US especially here in AZ. I will definitely post on here once I spot them, but after like yellowcastle said "picking up a few for myself!"

Posted by j013 in United States, 29 Jul 2010 17:52

i live in arizona, so i will go to so local toysrus tonight.

Posted by astronautravi in United States, 29 Jul 2010 18:04

@cvillone: I was one of the three callers that called that same Barnes and Noble, and the guy looked through the whole LEGO section, and he couldn't find them. Plus, he said they weren't even in the system. So it must just be a hoax...

Checked my TRU again. The new shipment only contained hero factory and the CITY Public Transport set.

@yellowcastle- when will they be avalible in tru in us?

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 29 Jul 2010 18:24

So bag feeling doesn't work? Oh well. That leaves barcode reading, which will only work for Series 2. I'll use it this time, but for Series 3 and after I'll get them from Bricklink. It's no use trying to stop case-buyers because they lead the Internet market for the minifigs. They also do make money off of it because they sell them for higher than the original price. There wouldn't be much minifigs for sale on the Internet if it wasn't for case-buyers. This is one of those things thet you want something changed but then you look at all the options and you see it's fine the way it is. yellowcastle, please delete my first commment if you can.

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 29 Jul 2010 18:59

I'm going to Barnes and Noble at Tempe Market Place in AZ tonight to see for myself what they do/do not have, I will post my findings later today.

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 29 Jul 2010 19:16

I think the person meant to say Borders (not Barnes and Noble), I mix the two up all the time. I called 3 BN's and they were all very confused. I drove down the road from my job to the Borders for lunch, inquired and they had 180 series 2 on order to arrive this weekend or next week (they are very familiar with the rush, the lady asked me if I was looking for series 1 or 2 before I could even finish my sentence)! Let the break out begin!

Posted by Takeshi in Canada, 29 Jul 2010 19:59

@ minifig051- Actually, bag feeling sometimes does work, if you feel hard enough and the peices are very distinctive (like the spaceman helmet and visor).

@ brickmatt--- which TRU in IN?

I personally can not wait for these to hit stores, although as much as most of you will gasp, I may just try to buy a whole box. I would like to get 3 full sets for my kids and that seems to be the easiest way! I got lucky with series 1 and got 3 full sets in the second shipment @ my local Lego Store with the help of a printed out barcode sheet. Only prob was the limit of 5 per person! Had to go back a few times! :(

Posted by lukehankenobi in United Kingdom, 30 Jul 2010 08:21

I've just got all 16 from our local toyshop in Burgess Hill, Sussex, U.K. Legostores are saying September which is another month

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 30 Jul 2010 08:57

@copperwonder96- Which Borders location was that? I've called several Borders who say at least 3-4 weeks.

Posted by voypro in United States, 30 Jul 2010 09:20

Yeah my local TRU just got a huge shipment of series 2, but when I got there they they were all gone. Apparently some guy name Elvis bought them all, then rode away on a unicorn.

Honestly, the most frustrating about all of this is here we are talking about series 2 when so many people are still looking for ser 1. I recently paid $200, + $25 shipping for a ser1 box off of ebay, doing the math I figured i was getting 3 sets at $73 each and 28 extra figures.

Collectively, my local TRU has gotten less than 10 boxes of series 1 (in 5 shipments) and have sold each shipment in a few hours. When they sold out of the first shipment at $1.99, they smelled blood and upped the price to $2.49

Posted by eiker86 in Norway, 30 Jul 2010 09:45

they arrived in midwestern part of denmark yesterday or today and i have bought a whole box =) next week im gonna buy some in norway when im home again =) glad i didnt have to drive all the way to legoland billund to get them =) where in legoland for a few weeks ago ;)

Minnesota -- Twin Cities summary

Called TRU Bloomington and Minnetonka. Neither has them.
Called Lego Store (MOA). Wasn't sure of official release date and recommended I watch lego.com.
Called Toy Store -- expecting ~1000 in September.
Contacted biggest Bricklink seller in the area -- expects them in two weeks (for whatever that's worth).

Did not call Borders -- didn't seem to get series 1 in this area, never knew what I was talking about when I called in the past.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 30 Jul 2010 11:53

Toys R Us did smell blood and up the price from $1.99 to $2.49 and then to $2.99 in NYC.

I will be going to visit my local TRU and ask about the shipment and ask them to call me when they come in. I might have a contact there who won't mind doing this for me.

As for buying a case, I probably will just to get at least 2 sets completed and to pick up sets for 3 friends. I might have to buy 2 cases in order to help out my friends if I am lucky enough to find these cases sealed. I can save my friends tons of time and gas money if I do this.

As for those of you who suggest people don't buy cases, your first responsibility is to yourself and then to family/friends/lugmates and then to everyone else. I know this might upset some people on brickset but if anyone asks themselves about this position they would most likely agree with it.

Sure I feel sorry for those who can't complete a set but honestly this is a supply and demand issue that either LEGO wasn't ready for or an issue that LEGO created in order to move product. It is not an issue that I've created by completing my sets and helping friends do the same. When I was a kid I missed out on completing sets of collectible items too because adult prospectors thought they could get rich off of buying cases of Garbage Pail Kids or Baseball cards and selling them. At least I'm not selling my minifigs!

US BARCODES PLEASE WHEN SOMEONE GETS THEM!!!

Heck, I'll supply the barcodes if I find the figs at TRU before the codes are posted.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 30 Jul 2010 15:05

I've got moderately good news and some bad news. :o)

No Series 2 on today's shipment at our local TRU, but I'll check again next week.
No Series 2 at our local Borders, BUT I was able to confirm that my local store currently has 240 units on order (i.e. 4 boxes). Based on the order status in their system, it would appear that they are at least a week away if not more.

Now for the bad news. Borders will be selling Series 2 Minifigures for $3.99/each.

Please note that all of this information was really accessible for the salesperson I asked. He simply entered in Lego Minifigure and the system yielded 4 hits, with line 1 being Lego Minifigure Vol. 1, line 2 being Lego Minifigure Vol. 2, and then a couple of sticker books, or such, as lines 3 and 4. We could easily see how many figures were in stock and on order for both Series. Additionally, we were able to see the stock levels on both series at all other local Borders. It turns out that several Borders in our area received some more boxes recently so I may indeed get my chance to grab a couple more astronauts for my new shuttle. :o)

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 30 Jul 2010 16:32

Great idea Yellowcastle! Good thinking man!

Posted by PaulRevere in United States, 30 Jul 2010 16:56

$3.99 is an unattractive price for everyone. It will certainly limit the hording. To me at $2.99 I'll buy a whole bunch, but at $3.99 - now you're talking double what I was paying for Series 1 - so I have to really think about it.

I think you'll see more supply for series 2, and obviously higher prices, with the same demand - making this a lesser attractive product.

Posted by BRICKDAD in United States, 30 Jul 2010 17:12

Nothing at TRU in Southern California (murrieta). Legoland California said they won't have series 2 for at least 2 weeks!

This is really hit or miss. I think we all might be wasting our time since once these are available at all Lego dealers you can buy a set on Ebay for about $60.00 ($3.75 each). Plus every Lego store including Legoland will not let you look at the bags or even hold them until the payment is complete. Plus they will not allow returns even on unopened packages. But, I am addicted. So, I will be buying some anyways!

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 30 Jul 2010 17:16

@yellowcastle- Which borders was this? I asked mine and they said no shipments were coming in anytime soon.

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 30 Jul 2010 17:23

@Takeshi: So maybe it can work. It might not be as easy as I first thought, but I'll see if I can. I'll try it when Series 2 comes out where I live. And maybe Series 1 if they're at my local Borders.

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 30 Jul 2010 17:39

are there any in ontario Canada yet? I might just buy the whole box and sell the extras to my friends and ya

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 30 Jul 2010 17:44

@jlegofan - All I can tell you was that they were definitely in the system and "on order." Once they are moving towards the store, they supposedly change status to "in transit." Thus, I imagine the Borders stores in my area (Northern Virginia / Maryland / D.C.) will start to get these in the next 1 to 3 weeks. This is a guess, though. Additionally, I don't plan on buying any at Borders for $3.99/each unless I have some kind of a "30% off your whole purchase" coupon.

@Brickdad - Our Lego stores had no issues with us looking at the bags for Series 1 minifigures, but perhaps it's up to each store. Additionally, it's my understanding that you can return any unopened product to Lego Stores provided you bought it there, have a receipt, and it is still an item they are selling.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most importantly for me, though, is that some Borders seem to have gotten more recent shipments of Series 1. So I definitely recommend that anyone still looking to complete their collection go and visit his/her local Borders. I'm about ready to give up hope that Target/Walmart will ever have these in the States, but I've decided to hold out hope until the first week of August. :o)

Posted by Rabbitspook in United States, 30 Jul 2010 17:45

At $3.99, I can honestly say I won't be buying any. No thanks! Borders just lost a customer.

Price gauging is something you'd expect from ebay sellers and a few bricklinkers, but not at large chain stores! That is just a disgrace. The dark side of capitalism.

Hey yellowcastle, thanks! I'll go look at my local Borders. :]

I visited my local Target in Corvallis, Oregon, and didn't find any. Did buy a Raid VPR though so I'm satisified. For the moment. ;)

Posted by ObiSeanLegobi in United States, 31 Jul 2010 06:10

Using the Target DPCI # that was posted in another thread awhile ago, I called and had them do a search of all area stores. None had them. But the clerk wanted to help me and did some extra checking with her scanner device. This store had already done their full LEGO aisle reset, by the way. Anyway, she said she didn't even have a location for it in store. Since the reset has already happened, I don't imagine any Targets will actually be getting these, otherwise they would have reset with a location, waiting for their shipment to come in the next few months. Unless that DPCI was only for Series 1, which was long gone before Target had a chance to get them and would therefore explain the lack of location. Anybody know?

EDIT: @Brickset Database Administrators: Wouldn't it be more politically correct to call the "Mexican" a Mariachi Band Member instead? Or maybe a Mexican Mariachi Member? Or is "Mexican" the official name coming from LEGO? I don't know, it just seems like it might offend some people...

Posted by voypro in United States, 31 Jul 2010 09:18

RE: ObiSeanLegobi "Wouldn't it be more politically correct to call the "Mexican" a Mariachi Band Member instead?"

Then shouldn't we consider calling the "Zombie" minifigs persons of undead origin?

In other news, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer will be requiring proper id from all Mexican Lego Minifigs suspected to be undocumented Minifigs.

Posted by The Guy With The Bricks in United States, 31 Jul 2010 09:24

Not sure how the minifig name could possibly be construed as offensive, and neither is my wife and she is Mexican. I think we're a bit touchy on the race issue in the States...

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 31 Jul 2010 16:40

@ yellowcastle: You said that Borders is selling Series 2 minifigs for $4, but what about Series 1? Is it the same price or lower? If it's the same I'm getting them from Bricklink (they have them between $2 and $3). If it's lower ($3 is my limit, not a cent more) I'm getting them. With Series 2, I'm gonna wait until they're at other stores at lower prices. There's no way I'm paying $4 a minifig.

Posted by lego8x8 in United States, 31 Jul 2010 17:36

Let's be clear about something. Availability of these figures to the public will be determine by the supply LEGO provides to merchants. If LEGO will only send 2 boxes of 60 minifigures to TRUs every two weeks, well...they'll be gone in less than a couple of hours. Considering how fast Series 1 was out in the market, we should be expecting that Series 2 will go off the shelves even faster.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 31 Jul 2010 19:01

I'm going to wait till the stores get them in in September so I can grab the whole collection.

Posted by Lego Minifig Man in Canada, 03 Aug 2010 17:49

I know that most people on here are in the US or UK or somthing, so I'm gonna tell you the siduation in my province in Canada. There is only one store (which isn't a chain or anything like that) I have found that carries the minifigs. This store isn't really known for having low prices, but I'm going to assume that it's the same price all through Canada. They have Series 1 but it's been like 4 or 5 days since I was there so there is a possibility that they have Series 2. They are selling them for a grand total of $3.45 (thats including tax and stuff) each. The store is aware that Series 3 won't have barcodes, and that's where I heard it first. So, that's the siduation here.

So I guess the North America sightings weren't for real? Or they mistook it for Series 1 or something?

Posted by powerpig in Canada, 04 Aug 2010 10:55

It seems unlikely that any of the North American sightings were truthful; if they were, surely you'd see more ebay auctions for Series 2 from the US and Canada. Series 2 doesn't even seem to be hitting the UK in bulk yet, and typically the UK gets Lego a full month before we do over here in North America. I suggest we all keep our eyes open but our expectations in check.
