Quite obviously a sponsored post. Either that or he took the wording off their website.

Holy crap, that's like 10 mins from my house! Now if I can only convince the girlfriend this would be a fun thing to do this weekend...

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 04 Aug 2010 10:26

@Imperial13 - My wife and I went to the show last year and the MOCs were truly amazing. But since I'm not affiliated with the event, I just used their standard text. :o)

@JamesBenjamin LUCKY I have a 1% chance of going :(

Posted by BioFreak877 in United States, 04 Aug 2010 11:44

Grrr.... D.C is like a ten hour drive from Kentucky, so probably no chance of getting there.

Posted by DJpowerhaus in United States, 04 Aug 2010 11:58

I've posted this up on the DC Couchsurfing group. Might bring some friends out and make a day of this!

Posted by knuclear200x in United States, 04 Aug 2010 12:08

DC?! That's a plane ride where I live!

Posted by wolfgang514 in United States, 04 Aug 2010 12:29

I'm going, for the second time! I hope the vendors aren't as outrageous this year as they were two years ago. :-)

Oh, BTW, let it be known to all that the event actually started yesterday, but you have to have a special preordered pass to get in before the 7th.

Posted by kurtgasper in United States, 04 Aug 2010 13:46

Zacherano what was wrong with the Vendors?

Posted by Wyattf1 in United States, 04 Aug 2010 14:02

Do they show 2011 legos there?

Posted by the_culture in United States, 04 Aug 2010 14:27

Ah man, I wish I could attend this event. DO they have any events like this on the west coast?

Posted by toplessjeep in United States, 04 Aug 2010 15:14

Ok to answer a few questions.

1. This event has not started yet. It starts tommorrow if you registered as a Exhibitor. If your going just to visit as general public, it starts on saturday and runs through sunday.

2. There is one in Chicago, its called Brick World, but it has already happened for this year.

3. There is one on the West Coast. Its called Brick Con, and I believe its in Seattle.

4. There is one in North Carolina as well. Its called Brick Magic. It was new this year, and will be happening again next year on monthers day.

5. There will be a new one next year in Canada. Toronto I believe. Its called Bricks North.

Any other questions feel free to ask. You really should go there are going to be some amazing MOCs there this year.

@toplessjeep: Thank you I was just about to ask if there was one in canada :-P
do you know if there is one in the west side of canada?

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 04 Aug 2010 16:01

@Wyattf1 - As I recall, we just got to see a couple of the late 2009 sets last year at the Lego booth. For this year, it's my understanding that we'll at least get to see the UCS Imperial Shuttle.

@toplessjeep - Thanks so much for the info.

Posted by the_culture in United States, 04 Aug 2010 16:25

Seattle? Dang, I'm in SoCal. I wish they had something here in California. But from the comments here, it sounds like its worth the trip up north. Thanks for the info, toplessJeep.

DC thats only about an hour drive ill probably go this year.

Posted by Bodyguards17 in United States, 04 Aug 2010 16:35

I might be there! I'm the firey red-haired guy with circle glasses.
p.s. legobob's location is WAY too specific

Posted by drewtheskater in United States, 04 Aug 2010 16:41

@mephinc: You guys in Chicago have BrickWorld!

Posted by Bodyguards17 in United States, 04 Aug 2010 16:42

@toplessjeep Is there a brick fair somewhere near Oklahoma? If so where?

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 04 Aug 2010 18:19

toplessjeep do know what time of year the one in canada will be?

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 04 Aug 2010 18:23

Aww man! I really wanted to go, that's so far from California! :(.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 04 Aug 2010 18:39

@kurtgasper - Those Brickfair vendors make a killing selling Lego sets and minifigures. They sell them for outrageous prices, and people actually buy them. I think it's almost a crime to sell sets for twice the online average selling price.
