CapnRex found a box of series 2 figs in his local independent toy shop in East Sussex. He doesn't want me to be more specific than that in case someone here goes in and buys the lot before he's been back for more :-)

So, keep your eyes peeled, they may be making an appearance in other places. Their official release date is, I believe, early September.

Well, if they are in the UK now, then they must be coming to the US soon! (i want the mexican and the skiier!)

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 05 Aug 2010 15:13

Oh and by the way folks, the shop I went to had Toymaster bags, so I think that maybe toy shops that hold the Toymaster franchise name could all soon have deliveries!

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 05 Aug 2010 15:14

Oh and thanks for the mention!

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 05 Aug 2010 15:41

For those that've found them... Can you verify rumors that their MSRP is more expensive than Series 1?

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 05 Aug 2010 15:47

@Morgan19 - No, the price is the same as Series 1 in the UK so is probably the same in the USA!

Posted by Darren Coppinger in Ireland, 05 Aug 2010 16:16

@capnrex Thanks for the news I hope my local toymaster will have them soon

Posted by legominifig221 in United Kingdom, 05 Aug 2010 16:21

yay got to go to toymaster

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 05 Aug 2010 16:36

@Morgan19 - I expect TRU will release them for $1.99USD/ea initially and then soon thereafter bump them up once again to $2.49USD/ea. From what I saw while at Borders, it appears they're going to immediately start selling them for $3.99USD/ea. :o(

Posted by Tervlon in United States, 05 Aug 2010 16:51

@yellowcastle You are absolutely right, I saw the Borders inventory computers and they said $3.99 for series 2. They also had a 7/2010 release date too.

Posted by brickzone in Ireland, 05 Aug 2010 17:19

Looks good for them appearing in Ireland soon so! I'll be checking Art & Hobby and Smyths Toys as soon as I get a chance. I presume Argos will have a new Lego catalogue page in advance of their appearance, so probably they won't appear there unannounced.

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 05 Aug 2010 17:36

I'll be checking TRU's and Wal-Marts here in Canada to see if they got them (and maybe pick up Rotor). I doubt TRU will have it becuase they are infamous for not ever having stuff on time. I once saw a TRU employee scanning the bags of Series 1 collectible minifigures.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 05 Aug 2010 17:49

My walmart says they will be coming soon...and i would like to have a barcode cheat sheet..can you guys make us one please?

Posted by Olamisai in Finland, 05 Aug 2010 17:50

They've been here in Finland for a week now.. already got 2x16 :) over here the price €1.95 is the same as series 1.

Posted by Ogremk3 in United States, 05 Aug 2010 19:02

I've yet to even see a single series one figure where I live in Southern California! Sheesh. All three TRUs near me sell out within an hour. Collectors just walk in buy the entire box and walk out. Never get to see 'em. :|

Posted by calvinwashere2 in United States, 05 Aug 2010 19:13

Ogremk3: You can at least order them from S@H and get your limit of 5 when they become available. Then you don't have to worry about missing out on them. Also, at least you know they're not going to jack up the price like Border's. If you go into the actual Lego shop (if one is nearby) when they list them online and it's not in the store you can get it shipped for free too.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 05 Aug 2010 19:45

Is the September release for just UK or for U.S. too?

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 05 Aug 2010 20:01

@Ogremk3
Live in southern california too, all of my nearby Toys R Us are, well, there's nothing. Checking and asking at both Toys R Us on Friday :).

Posted by cjg in United States, 05 Aug 2010 20:37

Any in the U.S. yet?

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 05 Aug 2010 21:47

I saw someone on ebay selling series 2 code sheet... people think they are buying the item and they are only buying the code sheet ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280543577114

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 05 Aug 2010 21:57

@legowomen1980p: why would you want a europe only cheat sheet?

Posted by jeffjcc in United States, 05 Aug 2010 22:46

Good News USA..... I went to Wal-mart tonight, and the lego section was kinda empty... but they had the sheets up that tell them exactly how to lay-out the new dispays ... AND, there was a little spot labeled MINFIG!

Posted by Superbrick555 in United States, 05 Aug 2010 22:50

does anyone know where to buy series one

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 05 Aug 2010 23:02

@jeffjcc You've made my day -- that's great news. If I may ask, (roughly) what area of the country is that?

Posted by jeffjcc in United States, 05 Aug 2010 23:34

@UKver2.0 - Louisiana.
I'm so excited about this! Wal-marts are SO much easier to get to than TRU! Hopefully series 2 will be widespread!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 06 Aug 2010 00:11

@jeffjcc - I'm sorry to burst the bubble, but that shelf spot is for set 8401 "Minifigure Collection", not the Collectible Minifigures

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 06 Aug 2010 00:16

I don't think people want to buy a cheat sheet ... People think they are buying a mini-figure... and they are getting a piece of information e-mailed to them.. this person is listing it wrong, it should not be in the toy category..

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 01:20

@superbrick555: they annonced a while back, about three weeks ago, that series one is no longer being made, there shouldn't be any left in stores, sorry.

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 02:44

If anyone who lives in London still hasn't got series 1 yet like me :( then hamleys has around two massive boxes left. I don't mean the ones you see in Argos these are twice the size.

Posted by ry66 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 03:34

I hope that they will soon be near me

Posted by ry66 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 03:38

On ebay I've found a seller who's selling series 2 mini figures :
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/02hannah_be/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340d

Posted by burakki62 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 04:13

I've been told by a couple of independent toy stores that they are expecting series 2 on 20th august.

Posted by yakop in United States, 06 Aug 2010 06:55

If you are looking for the Series 1 I just found them on amazon, They are selling the full collection for $62.50+ shipping. here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Lego-8683-Minifigures-Complete-Set/dp/B003O5VVV0

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 07:04

The above isn't being sold directly BY Amazon; it's being sold through Amazon by a 3rd party seller.
There are loads of collectable minifigs on sale through eBay/Amazon's 3rd party sellers/bricklink/etc. ... we don't need people posting lists of who can buy what from where. Thanks.

The link to the Series 2 European bar codes 'cheat sheet' is on the front page, available for free; as far as we know the North American codes are still unknown.

Posted by Pobwall in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 07:41

Just rang my local Toymaster toyshop, and they said that Toymaster shops aren't getting series 2 until September.
Also they think that the East Sussex shop that capnrex was in, have imported them somehow....

Posted by legocity1 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 09:39

ive seen 1 box of series 2 in John lewis but it was behind a couple of boxes of series 1

Posted by adam_fozz in Spain, 06 Aug 2010 11:31

Found out something interesting whilst checking for series 2 in Toys R Us. They havnet got them yet but they say that they are on consignment stock when they come in. What this means is that they dont pay for the stock until it is sold. Seems very strange to me that Toys R Us arent convinced of the sucess of the products after series 1. Maybe its all hype and there are plenty of the figures around but Lego are trying to increase demand by saying they are for a limited time only. My visit to the entertainer today went some way to confirming this theory as they still had an open box and a full box of series 1 on the shelf.

PS...Im in a proxy at work...I am in the United Kingdom, NOT Spain!

Posted by mission_zed in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 12:06

@adam_fozz - Ola Amigo ! I think this is because the minifigs are not supplier direct to TRU. It seems they out-source/sub-let the till displays which are full of sweets, trading cards, etc which is topped up once a week by a-bloke-with-a-lorry. Hence why they could never confirm what Series 1 stock they would receive, other than: Check back Tuesday. I wonder if the bloke-in-the-lorry ever knew what stock was needed in advance ? If not, then surely the last stores on his route would always be short ... Though I agree, TRU would probably make a higher profit margin if the sourced the minifigs themselves. No idea if the same applies to TRU outside the UK, but thats what a TRU employee explained to me when I kept annoying them about when they would get more Series 1 stock.

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 12:35

@ceroknight Look in the top left hand corner of the brickset home page, below the 'Buy at LEGO.com' advert the sheets are by there (Sorry if you've already been answered)

Posted by cowbug in United States, 06 Aug 2010 13:53

At my Local Lego Store here in California, I was pretty sure I had been told last month that they expected series 2 some time in August but when I called yesterday I was told me they wouldn't come in until the end of September or early October. He also said Series 1 was sold out and has been discontinued. This is also what Lego Customer Service told me via phone last weekend. I got my Zombie, so I am happy but I hope adam_fozz is right about his theory that they have more of these stashed away and maybe we will see them pop up in stores from time to time.

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:38

How much does Series 1 cost at Borders? I asked that in the other article about the Minifigures that was posted last month and I didn't get an answer. Can someone find that out for me please?

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 15:30

OK, well I have the collection now so if anyone wants to get any series 2 minifigures then they are in a shop called Kid's Stuff Toys in Eastbourne! They have 4 boxes in stock, only 1 of which is open. Happy Hunting!

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 16:20

Do you know when they'll be in stores in the US? I sadley missed out on EVERY minifigure from season 1.

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 16:30

@ legofanatic2414 - Most people seem to think that they will be out in the US in mid to late September.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 06 Aug 2010 16:53

@darthmaul1997: if you mean the box called 'collectible minifigures', there is no series 2 cheat sheet up there yet

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 17:08

Look again - there is a combined series 1 & series 2 'cheat sheet', but obviously only for Europe so far.

Posted by lego2000 in Netherlands, 06 Aug 2010 17:42

They have arrived in the netherlands now, the sets are availeble on the dutch site www.brickshop.nl.
I just recieved a complete set minifigs series 2. The box contains 60 minifigures.

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 06 Aug 2010 20:14

if you're in the USA, a place called Urban Outfitters has some series 1 minifigs for the ridiculous price of $5 bucks a pop.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 06 Aug 2010 20:58

GOOD NEWS - I just went to my local Toys R Us here in California, the say they're getting Series 2 in two or three weeks! Since I won't upset you guys, I'm just gonna buy a whole row instead of a box :) Or maybe I'll buy a box, or just randomly pick some figs from everywhere. I dunno.

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 06 Aug 2010 21:07

@lobsterwarrior - which TRU are you talking about; im also in Cali.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 06 Aug 2010 21:29

I can't be too accurate and all I can tell you it's southern, not like Sacramento south, more southern and it's close to the coast.

Posted by Schmopiesdad in United States, 06 Aug 2010 23:40

Today at BrickFair, Steve Witt from LEGO confirmed that Series 1 is done and there will be no re-issue. As for Series 2, he said there would be a larger production run than Series 1, but they likely will be in higher demand because of the coming holiday shopping season. Happy shopping!

Posted by garage2917 in United States, 07 Aug 2010 00:22

@yellowcastle- I have confirmed that Borders will be selling the Series 2 minifigures as well. The cost will be $3.99 per package. The Borders near my house in Colorado will be getting 120 total minifigures (two boxes). The Borders number or “Binc” is 3199975. The person who helped me told me that they expected to have them in the store by August 29th as they are scheduled to be released on shelves September 1st. The store employee also indicated that the minifigures are currently “in transit.” The employee told me that they will not be able to sell the minifigures until their release date, but that they do typically receive their orders 2-3 days prior to the release date.

Opps I forgot to mention that the Lego Store in Colorado confirmed a September release date, but did not give me the exact release date. They have been getting calls everyday about Series 2.

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 07 Aug 2010 10:58

@Pobwall - Today I asked them why they had them in early, they said they had been sent the order a couple of weeks ago and had had them in the stockroom for a while, ready for sale, they would bring them out if someone asked for them, and use that as a guide for when they should be going on sale (normally people only ask for things if they think they are available) I asked for them just casually thinking you never know, they brought them out, and that was that! Weird!

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 07 Aug 2010 21:12

You guys keep saying how much Series 2 costs at Borders but you didn't say how much Series 1 costs there! I need to know that because how much they are will decide if I buy them there or not. Can someone PLEASE find that out for me?

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 02:04

re:minifig051, All Minifigs @ Borders cost $3.99 (including series 1). You'll be hard pressed to find a series 1 minifigs at Borders these days. I would shoot for series 2.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 08 Aug 2010 02:12

^weird im pretty sure it was 2.99 here in canada.....

Posted by Johnny Cogs in United Kingdom, 08 Aug 2010 10:16

After being shot numerous times by the local toymaster Manager (with an automatic nerf gun) he told me I can pick up my series two's on 1st september!!!! (the day they come in!)

Posted by Sword2211 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 13:15

If anyone wants to buy series 2 you can get them at bricklink really cheap in quatities of 600 if you are willing to buy that much. Heres the link http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=jediboy&itemID=18410394

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 16:29

@copperwonder96: Thanks for telling me that. Well, I guess I'll get Series 1 from Bricklink. With Series 2, I'll just be patient and wait until they come out at my local Lego store next month. I think that'll be better since they'll sell them at regular price and have more cases. At least 2, I hope.

Posted by garage2917 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 17:35

@minifig051- Series 1 was going for $2.99 each at Borders, but they were a limited release that depended on your location. It appears that in Colorado there is not one Borders store that ever received a single box of series 1 minifigures.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 08 Aug 2010 19:01

@copperwonder96 - Borders sells Series 1 minifigures for $2.99/each though most stores have already depleted their inventory

@garage2917 - please note that I've gone ahead and deleted the posts referencing that B/N, thanks

Posted by Agreenbrick in Sweden, 09 Aug 2010 05:13

How come some countries get the figs earlier than others??? I mean, series one was avaliable in both UK and USA before they came to sweden, and series two came here (to sweden) in late july!! And the officcial launch date is said to be early september??? Was it just the toystore I went to that got to order them earlier or does lego just randomely pick a country to get them as early as this? Anyway, this is a BIG thing, because even though sweden was the first country that lego exported their products to, nothing like this has ever happened as long as I can remember...

Posted by erol312006 in United States, 09 Aug 2010 08:18

and i went to the barnes and nobles off 48th street and ray road they had no clue what i was talking about even though i found some series 1 in this store....and they never put stuff were they should... i always scan every section of the stores... like i said you need to go and look for yourself even toysrus
says stuff and i never believe them.... then i go to the store and they have what i was asking for ...either its put out or put out the next day or so..

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 09 Aug 2010 08:33

@erol312006 -- I'm sure the admin's were just trying to minimize the amount of wasted time and gas that goes into chasing ghosts.

The good thing is that since you are the first, and seemingly only, person to get them in the US, you get to be a real hero by posting the bar-codes! I bet people will be especially interested in the Roman/Greek soldier. Post that and people will absolutely love you.

You can scan it, take a picture -- heck you could just tell us the general pattern (three skinny lines followed by a fat line...).

Thanks in advance. I have a feeling "erol312006" will be everyone's favorite brickset poster really soon.

Posted by Brick114 in United States, 09 Aug 2010 09:16

I called borders last week, they said their system had 'august' as their release time, but no exact date:p

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 09 Aug 2010 14:13

So they are $3 after all. But you guys did say that it's rare to find them there, so I'm still going to get them from Bricklink. Their prices are cheaper, anyway.

Posted by erol312006 in United States, 09 Aug 2010 15:21

well how can i do that if i dont have them in packaging anymore and yes i throw my garbage/wrappers away..
whatever... believe it or not.

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 09 Aug 2010 15:57

@erol312006 -- No problem, I'm the same way. The figures come out and the packaging goes in the trash. If you happen to grab some more before they become more widely available, please consider holding on to the garbage -- the community would be ever so grateful.

I suppose you also threw out the receipt, but if not, could you post the item number as it is in the B/N system? I agree that calling in to stores can be unreliable, but perhaps with their store's part number, maybe I'll have better luck.

Posted by pookie in United States, 09 Aug 2010 18:40

I have a feeling that there is going to be a higher production of series2 than there was of series 1. Just look at ebay on how many cases are up for sale. Best bet is to wait for them come Sept. and watch the price per case on ebay drop.
