    Per this week's Target ad, all LEGO Star Wars sets are on sale.  While most sets will most likely be discounted by only 10%, Target will be selling the Droid Tri-Fighter (8086), Freeco Speeder (8085) and the brand new Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter (8093) for just $19 each.  This is also a great opportunity to pick up the Target exclusive Cad Bane's Speeder (8128).

    Update: It now appears the discount will only be 5%.  I'm not sure I have ever even seen a 5% sale before.

Um hate to tell you all this, but if you have a Lego store near you, you might want to check them out. They have Cad Bane's Speeder. It is not just a Target exclusive.

That means the Tri-Fighter, Freeco Speeder, and Plo Koon's Starfighter are 20% off. I would get the Tri-Fighter or Freeco Speeder (already have Plo's Fighter), but I'm saving up for Madden 11. The 5% sale is ridiculous, that means Cad's Speeder is on sale for $37.99 (only $2 off!). I'm waiting for a better sale!

@AZFIREWOLF - that's how "exclusives" work for lego. available from one chain of stores, but also available through lego stores and lego shop at home. sure it's not exactly truly exclusive, but it's generally understood that that's the situation.

Of course I just picked up Cad Bane's speeder last night for full price. I know they'll they refund the difference if I take the receipt there, but I don't think it's worth the drive for 5%. Oh well, good price on Plo Kloon's if you don't have it yet I recommend it, it's my favorite of the JSFs.

I already have plo-koons starfighter,freeco speeder,and the droid tri fighter.So im going to get cad banes speeder and I just got 2 cubedude sets from celebration v singed by angus maclane and 6 white boba fett minifigures so this weekend is so awsome.

Nice deal for Plo Koon's JSF but sadly im saving up for Halo Reach plus just went to toysrus and bought the last 10 chrome stormtroopers they had so not a total loss.

All Lego exclusives are also available through Lego stores and Shop@Home.
5% sale? That doesn't even offset tax here. Jeez. Kmart is also having a 5% sale, according to their website.

I almost ran for the door when I saw this but then...5% off? Target (and TRU for that matter) are really playing us for suckers. They think (they know) we'll pay the George Lucas premium on the SW stuff. Last season I was chomping at the bit on the new release of SW stuff but now I'll let their shelf space sweat a little before I pay the premium. I admit 10% would have got me but 15% is more appropriate (funny because that would make me buy doubles).

I think Target does this to say we're below the national retail price...but for only a short period of time.
At least with the Droid Tri-Fighter (which is about 260+ pieces for $20bucks, not bad), Freeco Speeder and Plo Kloon's Starfighter(closer to what the normal price should've been), those are fair prices.

In some states, the 5% might be enough to take off tax. In others such as mine, not even that.

I know alot of people are upset about how little savings you are getting if you buy the sets at Target, but think of it this way. When was the last time you saw Legos on sale at Lego.com or the Lego store or at Wal-mart? Usually Wal-mart does a rollback and Lego only puts them on "sale" when they want to unload them. So, either you pay the price now or later (on ebay). I chose to buy mine the day that Toys R Us put them on the shelves. I didn't want to wait until I thought they were at a reasonable price before I got them. I like to save money when I can but I also don't like to drive around town trying to find all the sets. I also picked up sets for my 10 year old for x-mas.

I know what you mean starfire. The way I look at it is, you pay what you think is fair or worth it on anything. I'll get some kits now that I really want to build for the retail price while others in which I don't think is a fair price I wait to see if it goes on sale down the road. I've had great success on eBay with fairly new items that I've gotten below retail. Like recently I got the Temple of Doom for $76.00 w/shipping, no tax MISB off of a good dealer.
If you're looking to invest and sell them later, then yeah, get 'em all now for retail or Target's small mark down. It helps a bit.

I bought mine at Toys R Us before their markups begin. Everytime they have a "sale" or right before the holidays they always mark their Lego sets up. I think it is price gouging when they do that. When I see that, I just go somewhere else. It really pays to shop around. As for saving sets and reselling them on ebay, that is a gamble. Win some, lose some. I saw someone selling the new mid scale destroyer and mid scale millenium falcon on ebay the other day (together) and it ended at $31. Whoever the buyer was, got an awesome deal.

@ Unknown User2596 Yep...target is notorious for that. They mark UP some items they deem 'popular'. I saw a Space Police set, like $1 or $2 dollars above retail, even recently they had Freeco Speeder at $27.97(saw that last month) and 2 of the worst was when the Indy Temple Escape got scarce, they marked it up at my Target $7 more dollars. Unbelievable. And the second was a Transformer set, Optimus Prime large figure. It was marked up $10 dollars more.

i would rather get most of these sets on Amazon since i dont have to pay tax. still trying to decide if i want to get palpatines shuttle and grieveous ship, i want them but i dont need them.

I went to my local Target and there was only 50 cent discounts on most sets. :/
