Yeah the Series 2 figs sapped most of my cash, BUT they have the TRU lego trucks in stock again and BOGO 50%(Although you cannot get the free shipping as it is not over 100 :-( )

How long does the sale last?

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 05 Sep 2010 09:14

Here is a link to a $5 off coupon on a $25 purchase. I don't know if this can be combined with the BOGO 50% off deal but it can't hurt to try!

The coupon expires on the 6th. I plan on walking to TRU this morning to try and see if this coupon will work with the City deal. More news at 11! (or sometime later this afternoon).

@bmwlego I used the $5 coupon today on the city BOGO 50% deal and it worked

i plan on completing my city sets this week. other than fire and farm i have all of the city theme, just need to pick up the TRU truck and the City Advent Calender. i hid both so hopefully they are still there later in the week!!

Posted by MisterFubar in United States, 05 Sep 2010 18:01

No TRU trucks left at either of my stores. Hopefully they get one in before the end of the promo. I did pick up the LEGO truck and the medium sized place so the trip wasn't a complete waste.

@bmwlego:To bad There's a Limit on The CMs. (Am I The One Who Invented The Phrase, CM? I Think I was The First one to Use it.)

I just picked up the Airport and Garage and I used the $5 off coupon. Worked great!

Posted by 1265 in United States, 05 Sep 2010 19:49

Picked up two Public Transport Stations. Also, picked up 10 of the 30070 Alien Space Ship. Looks like they were left overs from last month promotion.

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 05 Sep 2010 20:50

I really wish this had not been limited to City so I could buy the Public Transportation set along with the Kingdoms Castle. Oh, well. I may have to seriously consider buying two Public Transportation sets instead.

Posted by 1265 in United States, 05 Sep 2010 21:17

@ Captain Blockbeard - I agree. However, having an extra Transport Station is a plus.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 06 Sep 2010 06:41

The $5 coupon worked for me but they didn't have any City sets I wanted. They were out of the Transportation set so I almost left without buying anything but couldn't let my coupons go to waste!

Bought $25 worth of Chrome Stormtroopers and $25 worth of Toy Story 3 Alien bagged sets! Love that little Alien, especially his stubby legs which I need to build children trick or treaters for a Halloween LEGO display at my local library!

Glad the coupon worked for you lugtonex! That is why I posted it here on Brickset! This website helped me score the CM from TRU.com and I've shared sale news before with the Brickset community. Life is a give and take and I was glad I had something to "give" to the group with that $5 coupon!

The BOGO LEGO City sale lasts until 9/11/10.

Bummer. Just spent $120 on the Clone Turbo Tank. :(
(First post on Brickset) :)

I'm told they are having Buy 2 Get 1 in a couple weeks, and it will work on more than just City (but probably not Star Wars, as usual). That actually works out a little better if you can find similarly priced sets (33% vs 25% savings).

Posted by 1265 in United States, 07 Sep 2010 18:35

@ fadetoone - The person who told you ... can you rely on being 100% fact? Would love to see this deal. I can't remember the last 2 or 1 deal.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 07 Sep 2010 20:15

@fadetoone - AWESOME! If that does happen, I'm buying the Camper and the Wizard.

Posted by mojolego in United States, 07 Sep 2010 23:19

TRU did a 3 for 2 around the third week of September last year. No Star Wars.

Posted by fadetoone in United States, 08 Sep 2010 10:24

I would take it as 100% fact. The same purchase mentioned this 50% off deal a few weeks ago.

Posted by mlavwilson in United States, 08 Sep 2010 15:04

TRU very often follows a BOGO sale on City with a DOGO sale on all except Star-Wars.
On a different note, Target has all battle packs $4 off here in the US.

Hey, if your child loves Lego City Don't miss this chance for a Christmas present bought early!

Posted by BoobyToy in United States, 08 Sep 2010 22:26

I bought the city airport and the transportation set and was able to use the $5.00 coupon. Think I'm gonna go and buy 2 of the passenger trains before the sale expires.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 09 Sep 2010 23:28

Very upset that a 2nd TRU (Bayshore, NY) was out of the transportation set. Might resort to buying the new trains so I can have the new train system.
