    You may have read elsewhere the announcement from Jan Beyer, Community Development Manager, LEGO:

    "Regarding the low sales of the EXO FORCE line, the decision was made to stop the line at the end of 2008. The sales were good in 2006 but in 2007 the sales did not meet the expectations and the expectation was that even an expensive marketing campaign could not get the sales to the expected level."

    That suprises me for two reasons. First, it's unusual to get such an annoucement about the end of a product line. I don't recall seeing something similar for Vikings, for example. Second, I'm really surprised that Exo-Force aren't selling! I for one love them and I know a lot of you do too. I guess the target audience, boys 7-10, prefer Bionicle.

Sorry to hear that fighter.. this doesn't really affect me, considering I only bought a few exo force sets, but I'm kind of surprised.. I thought the line was doing really well.

Exo-force ends, like vikings and knights kingdom, lines that were very well, but fails in the sales. Knights kingdom ends in 2006, and exo-force two years later. In the trade catalog, you can't see new exo-force sets, only the winter sets.

The thing about Exo-Force is that is was new. The battle machines in 2006 had a great new mechanisme that nobody has seen before, and lightbriks! But the 2007 line was verry disapointing because they took the new elements away and made the Machines borring by making them simpler to desing and build. Thats why there was a lack in intrest. And also the humas where sold better then the robots, but there had to be robots so the line was already 50% more unpopulair. To bad though but I have seen it comming. The only things that can save Exo-Force now is a mayor sale in the next month's otherwise it is to late to desing new 2009 sets.

I think part of the problem is that last year's sets sucked. Particularly the stupid one with the huge engines on the back and the massive black/lime green tank thingy.

It's a shame, because this year's sets are so much better, have some great new parts, and take the line in an interesting direction. Oh well, we'll just have to hope something equally good replaces them.

Well, from a business standpoint, the sets were kind of redundant next to Bionicle. Also, the cartoon/toy market has sort of become oversaturated with "anime-ish" products. This move really doesn't surprise me at all.

But it sucks for anybody who liked the sets.

Three years really isn't a bad run for a LEGO subtheme, but Exo-Force was really more of a theme - who knows if there's going to be anything to replace it in the "mecha" category. (It's not like Vikings, which was basically a Castle spin-off, for example.) My guess is that there won't be.

Exo-Force might have been able to find a niche if it targeted older players than the Bionicle set, but they were targeting the same age group, and Bionicle is more popular, so Exo-Force just gets sort of ignored. (I don't think I've ever seen anyone buy an Exo-Force set.)

At the start I absolutely hated exo-force... I never grew fond of it but now that its discontuned I feel horrible... I wish they discontinued bionicle instead... the golden city set sucked though... Farewell exo-forece. ;(

I didn't think that the Exo-Force line wasn't actually going that well once I think about it, becuase I bought Striking Venom at almost half price in the shops. I'm sure that now the set is rare people will be paying a heap for it intact.

That is extremely odd, all of my younger friends love, and i mean love exo-force! I can't believe they don't like it... just wait until i tell them, they will cry.

well, now that they cut off exo, they need to make another series of Lego that will sell! (I want western or Lord of the Rings)

Funny I just picked up 3 ex-exo-force sets today. Generally I never build those sets. It's all about the unique parts/colors for me. Lego needs to develop their a line of mecha that feels more solid an plausible. Brickshelf artists like izzo have a great feel but I wonder how "play-with-able" they are:

Another neat theme is the steam punk style that has gained so much traction in the community.

I'd like to see castle sets taken to the cafe corner/green grocer level.

One thing I liked about exoforce was the artwork. I'd love to have seen their buildings set into mountain jungle mountain sides. Oh well.

*Sniff* *Sniff* So sad. I feel fortunate that I managed to collect all of the good sets. I.E. 3 new human battle machines this year. I agree with huw though. The sets last year sucked so bad it wasn't even funny. I bought several of them and they were all the same basic body. I think the only good set that came out last year was the Combat Crawler and even that was asking for it. This is a tragic event anyway for all of us exoforce fans. It is a shame to see a brilliant theme go, especially when it started to get good and didn't include a stupid base to go protect. Oh well... All good themes die eventually. Just look at Johnny Thunder. That one also brings a tear to the eye. Why Lego? Why do you hate us so?

Hello Everyone.

This is very sad news. LEGO really is shooting themselves in the foot with this.

In 2006 the sets were new and fresh, they also had a lot of people for a cheap price. Then there was the light up brick which was interesting.

In 2007 through there were less pieces, worse designs, and no light up brick. So why would people buy them.

This year is back to being great. No light up bricks, but many more regular bricks. They also have the "mini robots" and very neat colors.

I heard a rumor somewhere that another reason for it ending was because the big sets don't sell. I don't see why LEGO can't just do two $15 set, two $20-$30 sets and two $8 sets.

LEGO also announced last summer that Aqua Raider was selling well, yet we don't have any new Aqua Raider sets.

Seen this coming for a while, my TRU cant get rid of its Exo force. Shame, i think the new sets were cool and were going into a good new direction. I guess this cancels out the good news about star wars contract being extended. mabe the new star wars themes have taken over some of the themes, mabe not.

Same in the UK exo - force sets just sit on the shelf. Not that i liked anyway. On the subject if Starwars how much longer can that continue! Most of the vehicles, main scenarios must of been covered now.

I agree with the community and second the opinion that 07 EF sets were horrible. I couldn't justify buying the Mobile Devastator-it looked big because of the wheels and technic beams and the thing was expensive. I bought the Aero Booster for 7.48 at Target on Clearance and looked at the parts and decided to sell it. I did buy the Sentai Fortress. I bought 3 of them on clearance for 12.48. I kept 1 and built it and the other 2 I was going to sell. They weren't selling on ebay so i returned them. The fortress itself came with some cool parts (dark red slopes, gold 1x2 grill plates, etc.) but the design incorporated too many large 1x bricks that made it seemed juniorized. If the set wasn't on clearance there was no way I would have bought the set for 50 bucks.
The new sets this year are worth buying, especially the purple and lime fighters. They come with some awesome new parts in harder to find colors. I might consider buying them if they go on a major sale at TRU or Target.
I feel sorry for the Exo fans out there but the line will live on forever for those who love and own the sets. You know what the great thing about LEGO is? WE can build new Exo-Force sets if we want out of our brick collections!
Hope that cheered up the EF fans a little bit.

P.s. The next thing to go should be bionicle. it was good when it first came out but i think they have gone a little too far.

I think I know why. It might not be right but... LEGO had this "promise" not to do violence since its for kids. I don't think LEGO would do an army theme because that is basically JUST violence. Its war for crying out loud. Star wars is too, but as you can see in the new themes these days, violence is barely creeping in. And like I said before, and army theme is basically just violence. What would they make? A prisoner camp?

Yeah, why is bionicle so strong while exo was axed? it seems the logical thing to axe bionicle and keep exo. Exo are more expencive (on average) sets comapred to bionicle. I dont like Bionicle.

I say that anti-violence is just dum. I happen to favor it, and I am getting really sick of people complaining about LEGO becoming violent. It's not like the toy-line is for babies. And did you know that apparently parents are complaining about the new gun types in star wars legos? That is just insane! I happen to like the new type better!

In 2006 new Exo-Force sets were cool, had light bricks and pieces you couldn't find.

In 2007, Exo-Force sets was a big let down, there were no light bricks and the BMs were uninteresting.

In 2008, Exo-Force introduced better sets and I can't believe they are going to stop selling them.

I just bought the Rogue Shadow today and it had some pretty strange pieces that I hadn't seen before. It has one of those rocket launchers that fire once the little trigger is pulled back. I have found that piece in sets like the Naboo Starfighter, Landing Craft and Slave I. I think Exo-force should have those instead of faulty disk launchers. Also I would like to say that lego is really improving on their landing gears lately.

SillyQuack, I do hope they will bring back western i was never so lucky as to get a set. But if we don't get the complainers straightened out, starwars stormtroopers will be fighting rebels with flowers, and the agent theme will be fighting with....wait thay won't fight at all because there is no violence in the world. Well, unfortunetly there is. We can't blind kids of what is really going on or teach them that the world is perfect , can we?

Back on topic:

To tell the truth, I'm older and I'm half and half on this. I hated practically ALL the the good guy set from the exoforce line through each year I mean they were poorly done and gimmicks on weapons and stuff just made me sick. However, the bad guy vehicles made me look twice, they had the best and they were the only reason to buy anything with an exoforce symbol on it's box. Striking Venom, Shadow Crawler, Iron Condor, Dark Panther anbd Arachnid Stalker(even though small) are the best exoforce sets. So Sadly, I will miss those. However, it does leave TLC time to think of new concepts.

It should be clarified that we don't have a case of LEGO receiving a multitude of complaints from parents over violent-themed toys. Sure, you're always going to have some individuals complain about the smallest issue, but I think this is more of an internal change of direction for the company more than anything else.

To tell the truth, I was a little diappointed in Exo-force for 2007. Much as I loved 2006, I was indifferent towards the 2007 line and I only got three sets as opposed to the 10 or so I got the year before. I don't think advertising is enough. The story in 2007 was weaker and emptier than 2006. If you look at the number of comics made in 2006 and then 2007, you'll see what I mean. I do love the 2008 line and if they continue to make Exo-force sets in the summer I will do my best to support the line. A sad day indeed....

I agree with everyone, violence is overblown in Lego. I am fine with SW blasters, that is sci-fi, and no one ever got murdered with a laser cannon in real life. However, exo-force pushed the limit of science fiction guns, and I have never purchased one yet. But exo is child's play (no pun intended) to the new agents sets coming out. Those guns in there, and the Bond-esque themes, are not exactly what kids need to see. I know the parents dont need to buy them, but they will still be in the catalogues, wont they? Kids will still be exposed to it, and it will seem more 'OK' to them because it is in something which could 'never' do anything wrong to them, LEGO.

Personally, I did like exo-force, though.

deluckybrick, everybody has their own opinion but if they don't have they toy then they are really not "exposed" as much.
Plus i dont think it is a bad idea for lego to have an agents theme. An army theme may be a little outlandish but still an agent theme is fine w/ me.

I agree with legoville about the agents line. Come to think of it, complaining won't bring back exoforce either. So take that into consideration. If agents is taking the place of the exoforce line, it's better than nothing.

Ah...so Exo-Force ends at last. You can normally tell when a theme might end, but I actually thought it might go on one more year. Dino Attack and Vikings were doomed from the start, especially Dino cause nobody loved the dinos themselves. Personally I liked how that serpent was built, but...anyway...Themes like these never normally last, and I hope its replacement, Agents does much better. I thought that EF looked a bit blocky and framework-like, and none of the sets were really stable. once you think about it, Space, Racers, Castle, City, Creator, and some other Alpha Team/Agents line will be the only ones left, cause in 2010 or 2012 or something, Lego's contract with Lucasfilm expires, and they can no longer make Star Wars sets. That new Speed Racers fling will not work, because everyone knows that movie/TV show based sets never work out, as shown with Avatar and will happen with Spongebob and Indy sets. (I hate movie based sets anyway, and Lego always gets in a tizzy when a new movie comes out.) I forgot about Bionicle sets, but as you can see they are running out of ideas and are probably sick of having to make new looking parts, and those stinky Matoran are finally finishing their overlengthed story, starting after the Bohrok dudes and by next year will end. I certainly would not listen to a four-year long story! They should continue Model Team, everyone liked that. We can expect to see other themes use mecha like Exo Force, and possibly a theme like it again. But as I said, it will be those 6 big themes with random subthemes along the way.

I totally agree. But you cant say that starwars did not work out. It is one of the top sellers. If lego is smart they will try to keep the lisence w/lucasfilm. I also think indy is doing fine.

I agree the 2007 line was a little disappointing, but this years Jungle stuff is brilliant. Shame really - I was aiming to get the complete ExoForce set. I guess I still can, only it'll be a lot smaller than I was anticipating. :(

I'm glad i've kept all the sets and their boxes in great condition though. In a year or two it might be a good investment to sell the entire collection, boxed on eBay. :) Then I can move onto whatever new theme they're doing at the time.

Like i said before, LSW is one of the TOP sellers for lego. If that goes, people like Commander Fox who only like LSW will stop buying lego. Lego sales will drop pretty dramaticly.

I wouldnt stop buying, but i would only be buying for parts so i can continue to make good SW models e.g. exo force WAS a good sorce for parts (mabe what people are telling me is true, i do have a problem...). SW pretty much saved lego from going sour so far, you should thank it.

The first year was great, but I only bought one small set in the second. This year I think is the best though, so I'm a bit disappointed. I'm wouldn't be surprised if Lego comes out with something similar, anime inspired, but better.

I bought chameleon hunter today and it rocks.I think if lots of people buy 2008 sets they may make new 2009 sets or am i hoping for the improbable.Anyway the 2006 sets where great but 2007 sets were bad, i had that 4 legged spider thing and in actual fact it had 3 legs and it wasnt worth £10 more like £6.Im gonna buy all of these new sets as i can!

This anti violence is getting stupid they've clearly gone way past anti violence ever since pirates theme.But i think they should make a new mech theme that isnt based on humans.Plus not much people really watch anime ,i do but anime is pretty violent!

yeah lego had a really hard time last year with the end of the full line of star wars episode 3 sets. they seemed to be really struggling with ideas and the lego sets were not near as imaginative as usual but towards the end they seemed to make a come back with their castle sets and now this year their back and better than ever. it is hard to see exo force go, especialy now that their 2008 sets look so much better than the 2007 ones.

I don't agree what Wolfy 8880 says in terms of the price in Canada. Although Canadian dollar is slightly stronger than that of American, the price is still very much different. In case of Town Plan, for example, it costs CDN$219.99 compared to $149.99 in Amearica. And as far as I know, there is no such LEGO exclusive store in Canada, either. It is such a tragedy for a crazy LEGO fan like me who has to buy LEGO products with a high price at not many places (not at Wal-Mart any more..)..!!

You don't agree that Canada would be next cheapest after the U.S.? Certainly not in that example, that's as bad as the Australian price. And Canadians know the excuses they fob us off with are nonsense; your stuff comes from the same U.S. warehouse, doesn't have to travel by sea, and Canada and the U.S. apparently have similar sales tax systems.

But that's a shop@home exclusive, sold in small numbers. What about the everyday stuff, like Exo-force sets in Toys'r'Us, is the difference as great with those? And the really important question: if it isn't Canada, where are the next cheapest prices?

As for Exo-force, and why the 2007 sets were so rubbishy, I blame Mars Mission. It's pretty obvious that all the best vehicles the designers came up with for 2007 got used to start the Mars Mission line, and Exo-force got the left-overs. Compare that sleek, black "alien mothership" with the monstrosity they included as the robots' aircraft in the golden tower set. Chalk and cheese.

Really Exo-Force was never that good anyway. Sure, it may look good, but once I bought the stealth hunter and the thunder fury or whatever the latter was, I took it apart after a day or two. Last month I saw a complete picture of it and then thought that I must have been crazy to destroy it, so I started to build it again. It never lived two hours before I realised why I destroyed it and did it again. I did the exact same practise with the knight bus although I did really want it for some reason when I bought it.

I for one am not surprised about the discountinuation of the Exo-Force line. Here's my reasons:

1) LEGO Company keeps a line and then after a few years discontinues the line. Many lines are no longer part of their current offerings (GO Western). The exception to this rule has been Bionicles, depending on your prospective. The Bionicle line is nothing like it started out as and the orignial TOA have given way to other heros.

2) The line began with figures in mechs (sorry to Mecha fans, but I have not other words for it). The line seems to have morphed from those $14.95 USD sets into the $60.00+ USD sets. Oh sure, they had the Sentai Headquarters, but take a look at all of the sets and you see a common theme, mini-figs in large mechanical robots. The 2007 sets seem similar, but the larger sets seem to depart from this. Set 7721, 8106, 8107, and 8108 seem to depart from the mecha focus (though two of those have a small mecha in them, the rest of the set doesn't make sense to me). Anyway, I do not get the sets without the mecha.

3) The new sets, 2008, seem to return to the formula, but where can you find them? I found them in the United States at Toys-R-Us, but the price was $5.00 over the MSRP for the $14.95 sets. Are they kidding? Why would I pay $5.00 more for a set at TRU that I can get at a LEGO Store or a WalMart or a Target? Well, I will tell you why! The product is not on the shelves. For the consumer to buy it, the products must be on the store shelves. I visit the LEGO Imagination Center in Orlando frequently and the store cannot get shipped product from LEGO Group. Common guys! Product sitting in warehouses or in shipping containers does not help with the bottom line. SHIP SHIP SHIP! Support your own retail stores!

4) Manufacturers and suppliers are no longer in control. WalMart recently anonouced Canadian WalMarts would no longer carry LEGO Products. If LEGO or other manufacturers want to get control, which is why I am certain WalMart is no longer carrying LEGO Products (because LEGO is exerting more control) then manufacturers must resist the temptation of the WalMarts of the world from "our way or the highway" mentality. I think LEGO is doing this in this case and more power to them. For you Canadians, I am sorry. Boycot the whole of WalMart and refuse to purchase any products from WalMart in response to this situation.

Just My Humble Opinion.

Okay! About this whole violence thing. Lego is a humble toy company that promotes creativity, NOT VIOLENCE! Now whether or not a kid who has a lego set like star wars wants to act out violence does not depend upon the toy but on the MOVIE that the toy is based on! "So why doesn't LEGO discontinue Star wars?" who may ask. Well,.....let's see, you take the greatest franchise in existence and you combine it with the greatest toy in existence, and you pretty much have the greatest toy line in existence sooooo....you sell it and make big bucks! Bottom line, LEGO is never violence-prone, and if it was then it just wouldn't be LEGO, now would it. (but lego might have to fix that for their agents theme)

I too think that lego may have taken the voilence a tad too far. Of course you would be used to violence if you have been watching star wars, so then you would like to replay the action as precise as possible. Though saying that, it was lego that had introduced me to star wars in the first place. hmmmm. Anyway, the point I am tryiny to get to is that one or two flying projectile missiles are okay, but you know that lego have gone way too far when most of the peices are artillery. there are some sets like that, with so much pointless guns and bullets and rockets and missiles that you can't see the product itself. I tend to remove these extras and use the peices for something more conservative, like a blaster tree. I think you are right, Leggodt, but I am kind of uncomfortable talking about this as I am a fan of star wars. Also, I found out today that the girls watch that sort of movies for the romance, like in ep. III, the most violent of the lot. George Lucas has an extremely large target audience and that is why star wars is so successful. Also might I say the movie was anticipated to be the best out of all of them and during my first time watching it, the anticipation chilled down my spine in the written prologue in the opening scenes. Fantastic.

I think everyone should look on the bright side of the Exo-Force series being canned. Most should have enough pieces to make your own mech instead of relying on the designer's ideas. This is what makes Lego so powerful - it is only limited by your imagination! So instead of lamenting on the end of a line, think of it as a start to your own line! Brickshelf is a great medium already used to showcase lots of MOC mechs (or whatever!)
As for violence in Lego, remember that "Guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people". Sad but true.

And to once again comment on this exo-force leaving thing, I've come to this conclusion:

It just goes to show you, LEGO can't really come up with good MADE-UP themes. I mean think about it movies, city-life, the world around us, space, oceanography, out west, sports(racing included), and medieval times. Those listed things are based off of someone else's idea or stuff that actually happened. I mean the only two themes that I can think of that are LEGO made-up ideas are exo-force(which is getting the boot) and bionicle, which I don't think is all that great(no offense to you bionicle fans). :)

The liscenced themes were, as we were talking about before, successful becuase people wanted to act the scenes out in lego. I have never watched a single episode of Exo - Force before, and I have about six of their products, which I mostly bought for the minifigure mechas. Lego should really make robot impulse sets so that people can buy them to invade a town or something. That is what I bought exo-force for anyway. I was debating in the store whether or not to get the legendary Striking Venom I keep going on about, and then I found that the set 'Sentry' was $10 NZ, and comes with one robot. Striking Venom was cut down from $90 NZ to $50 NZ, and comes with about seven regular robots. I think that the maths is fairly obvious, and it was one of my best lego purchases becuase the set is still together to this day.
Also, thanks Leggodt, I like it when people appreciate my user name. Also, you are quite right. The made up themes are better than the other themes becuase they are made-up. Obviously lego employees wouldn't just chuck a random new theme idea unless they have a few good sets they had made before the line. You know how many police stations there are in creation.

I was like AHHH!!! then i realized it was part of a super lot you have to buy some exo force banners with it that cost like 30 bucks each...so he just raised the price of those to make it look like a good deal. That is funny, but I have only bought 2 of the same small mars mission sets last year, and I didn't really like them. The more expensive ones look a bit flimsy and weak like the new AT TE. Fighter, I would definately buy any set that was one cent only. On trademe they list stuff for a dollar and the bids hold the price in hand and rocket up to high heavens. I still have loads of Gate Assualt sets in my local store and they still haven't gone on sale after about a year. Not that I have any intention of buying it, the 'gate' looks a bit like that portal thing that you would find in Stargate. I have made a promise to myself not to destroy anything until I know the primary use of the funtion in the set. An example is the Landing Craft, which I had no inkling that it could drop the pod and destroyed the cockpit mechanism! I repaired it once I found out about it using Youtube. To maintain this promise I research like mad about the set, looking for it on sites such as Lego.com, good old Brickset, google searches; Image and web, and lastly Youtube, watching videos of the sets, usually stop motion.

Well, I knew this would happen someday... I don't really care, because I would perfer BIONICLE over Exo-force any day. I kinda liked Exo-force, but the bad guys always win until the last minute when something completely impossible happens. Plus, in 2008 all of the good guys looked terrible besides Takeshi. The mini-robot on Hikaru was really ugly, and mostly the whole set was waaaay to breakable.

I think BIONCLE is going to be discontinued soon anyway. I heard this before on this posts or someone else, but I will repeat it. but anyway... That story those matoran were telling in the beginning is pretty long concidering it ended up with the "Phantoka". They have to go back to reality, with those old ones. I guess, LEGO can continue from there, but this story is pretty long. What are they going to do when they DO go to reality? Transform AGAIN?

I don't know much about bionicle...in fact I know nothing about it. But I got a LEGO magazine like sometime a while ago and it had a BIONICLE poster that said like the final battle begins 2008. So that probably means bionicle will be discontinued at the end of 2008. (I hope) I don't like bionicle very much they had some good sets when I was younger I really enjoyed them but now I don't like it much :)

Yeah, I wouldnt miss bionicle, especially because now they all look so nasty and evil, even the good guys. Exo-force had a good premise, though, and I dont think Agents will be a good replacement.

I think the line had some serious flaws. Yes, it was pretty darn cool, but hear me out:

- Wave 1 Deluxe-sized Mechs all used the same construction system. Once you get one, you've seen them all
- the light brick gimmick didn't work so well and often came at the cost of articulation (coughThunderFurycough)
- the Wave 1 minimechs were uninteresting and kind of bland. They should have included altmodel instructions. The orange Ghost from Halo altmodel looked sweet!
- The minimechs from the Gate Assault should have also been released on their own
- the non-mech vehicles are pretty lame and expensive (fan-powered glider? Huge robot war roller?)
- the whole line seems too gimmick-based. Light-this, firing-that, golden-this, mini-that.
- the Jungle vehicles seem plagued by bad colours. Yellow and purple tiger-striped mech? What is this, Transformers Generation 2?

I think a big problem was the target audience being drawn towards Bionicle. Maybe if Exo-Force was less like kiddified anime (2 faces that both blow? Exposed pilots with big hair rather than helmets and battlesuits?) and more like BattleTech, it would have been cooler. Heck, if LEGO got the BattleTech license I would have wet myself with glee!

Another issue was the marketing. Bionicle has had those comic books since, what, 1999? 2000? They built up a fan base back then with character development and stories (so much so that the they threw 'characters' and 'stories' away in current generations of 'action gimmicks'). If Exo-Force had even as much as a 1-page comic in each Club Magazine, 1 page to build characters, show what they stand for, create depth, it would have done wonders for the series. Instead, they made the occasional "How will we save the day? By using this NEW MODEL LAUNCHING 2008 WITH ÜBER-ACTION-GIMMICK-FEATURES!!!"-type comic, just like the ones on the product boxes.

The Exo-Force line was a neat idea, but I won't be shedding any tears for it. I just hope that LEGO will learn from this experience so that their next mech line will rock even harder!

It's the Mars Mission sets that are clogging up the shelves locally not the Exo-Force. But Exo does cannibalize the same market as Bionicle so I can see keeping Bionicle which seems to have "legs" and losing Exo Force. My question would be why announce it? That makes no marketing sense unless they want to build some kind of "buzz" to keep it.
The Castle sets seem to be doing well but distribution is not universal. I don't know why Dwarf Mine for example is not available in US/Can.

Yeah, it is unusual to announce the end of a production line. Maybe they are trying to sell the remaining exo-force by telling people to grab whats there while its there. I think that at the end of Exo-Force lego, maybe there is a bright side to it. Of course, when star wars stops, I would be kind of happy that there are no newer sets to worry about and so I would start spending my money on the good old sets, not having to worry about the multiplying number of sets in production. So don't worry, Exo-Force fans, you can start collecting the old sets on ebay or something. That's what I would do if I was interested in Exo-Force.

You know when you guys said last years sets were terrible, I didn't think they were that bad. But the more I look at them, they really weren't that great. Here's a list of everything they did wrong for 2007.

-Light Brick Gone! It was cool!

-With the light brick gone, they now have a very boring design for the body of the mechs, just like a brick with some plates connected to it.

-Bionicle pieces, the regular click hinges used for the legs were better!

-The weapons, not much detail put into them, and they were connected by like a technic pin or something. They should bring back the hands that turn, those were better.

So yeah, I agree, that's probably the reason nothing sold last year. They need to change things.

I think they should keep on continuing it! I mean, hello, were are either boys and some girls, (hopefully) and some exo-force fans are adults or 50 year olds. but most of these fans are young, and we are CHILDREN! We usually don't get money, or allowance (most of us don't) and these sets are so expensive, who WOULD get it? Right? they should lower the prices then they would sell more. The biggst thing that makes me not get the sets that I want is the money issue, for example, the Naboo Star fighter was $30 last year, what a ripoff! I speak for the people who don't get allowence and the people who think Lego is ripping us off of our money (for only exo-force)

kinda thought this would happen. last years line basically threw them into jeaporady. i didnt like the line at first and still dont so i dont really care. i was a waste. they should replace it with like pirates

They should replace it with the Ninja line.

However, Exoforce's problem was is was all over the place. with everything. Wave you seen the chameloen mech? Sickening, the design for good guys sets were horrible. At least the bad guy's sets were somewhat not as "pizzazive" but had some order to how they were designed.

There are no Exo-Force Fall sets. I went to Toy Fair and was told by a LEGO rep that the line is an expiring one. There are no new LEGO Exo-Force sets besides the ones that were released in January of this year. The slideshow of pics in your link shows the sets that were released already.

I agree that the 2007 sets were a bit off but there are some very nice sets in the Exo-force series eg 7709 Sentai Fortress for one really rocks, lots of cool pieces and great play factor, the 8106 is also another cool set, too bad lego decided to drop this line but guess they were running out of ideas or people were getting bored with the many versions of essentially the same mechs- but hey look at the gundam model series, its going from srength to strength..

The lego company said that the phone numbers were for the US or Canada. They must consider Canada as a shared region for them. Why would they rip off Canada more than the US if they know that they live so close they have the same phone number? I don't think I have made my point clear and I'm not sure how to, but yeah.

Well, I dunno. You see, on my keyboard the 'Y' key is about six centimetres away from the 'E' key, which is about two centimetres away from the 'S' key. Furthermore, the 'N' key is about six centermetres away from the 'O' key. Maybe after typing that letter they couln't be bothered fitting in the last yes or no word so they just e-mailed it like that and made it seem like a neutral comment informing you of nothing at all. I once e-mailed the lego company asking about the postage, and they replied with an answer, but there was much the same advertising. I wonder if there is actually a real person who browses what you are asking for and physically pushes the 'send' button, (which is located on the mouse button and therefore not applicable for measurement). Usually search engines seldom get what you ask for, and it soon becomes incredibly frustrating.
Oh well, Fighter, at least you have taken the liberty of actually e-mailing them. I appreciate that, but I would more if their response was informative.

I did my part, i baught 8106 at 60% off (still $35AU). up to you guys to do the rest (i have no idea why i actually baught it, i had enough for the ferris wheel, and i think the sale finishes at the end of the month). So you guys have to fork out the other few billion. SAY NO TO WEIRD ANIME FACED STAR WARS CHARICTERS. It wasnt a verry smooth move by lego, was it?

I don't think that lego will reproduce Exo-Force after they just said it was leaving forever unless that was why they said it. But even so, that would be a very poor way of marketing.

Well, Luke Skytalker(I'm finally getting the hang of the "talker" part), maybe LEGO was simply informing that sales for the exo-force theme are way down and that they MIGHT have to discount it UNLESS somehow the sales go up this year which would probably be good if these new 2008 sets are as good as everyone says. That's what I think is the case. I could be wrong though.

Your other comment, Leggodt, is probably likely. No one knows, unfortunatly what lego are doing turning the discontinuation into a publicity stunt thing. I don't know what they would do if they didn't announce it. I suppose after a while the public would be emailing the lego company inquiring about Exo-Force being deleted from the website. Oh well. Just a hypothetical situation. Wait, that makes me think, what if there were no hypothetical situations? Makes me think more. Getting off topic here, kind of like how my maths teacher was teaching us science in class, or how that Conchord or whatever flew over Fighter's house, or whatever it was. :D

Hey, Huw is right! look at the set 8101, Claw Crusher. It is an Exo-Force set and I have not bought it yet, but it is a perfect example of what lego are trying to do. You see, it has a few bionicle parts, clearly shown in the pics to attract 7-10 year old bionicle lovers. Also, they have stuck in a 'secret code' for you to unlock. And lastly, they stuff it with the most attractive arsenal they can. That is lego's desperate attempt to get anyone interested in Exo-Force.

I loved the Exo-Force line in 2006! I usally collect a lot of one or two themes. In 2006 I collected 75% of the toys. In 2007 the toys didn't meet my expectations, and I fell down on the lego collecting. The 2008 ones look OK, but like movies the first subtheme (like jungle, or golden city) is always the best. Personally I HATE CITY AND BIOLICLE because there is no action, and everlasting enjoyment in them. In Star wars and exo-force there is ation. (ANY COMMENTS PLEASE REPLY).

I agree with ya, tanadlia, about the star wars theme compared to other themes in terms of action-related enjoyment. I mean, with MOST other themes the only thing to do with 'em is the building, I mean, I love the building portion of a set, I really do, but there are sometimes when I like to do more with a set instead of just letting it sit on a shelf. Star wars is great because it provides for just that!(same goes for exo-force, I guess) :)

I agree with you too, tanadlia, but I don't completely hate City and Bionicle, as you can still have action in the city, its just unexpected. My favourite is star wars cos you've got action and you've got really cool sci-fi spaceships that I was in search for before I was introduced to star wars, (the story in that is in my lego star wars video game review). Also Exo-Force is a lot like star wars but not much so, Star wars is more of a complicated genious and it is cooler like that.

Well, yea war is too violent. I don't think LEGO would do an army theme because that is basically JUST violence. Its war for crying out loud. Star wars is too, but as you can see in the new themes these days, violence is barely creeping in. And like I said before, and army theme is basically just violence. What would they make? A prisoner camp?

Also it's Science Fiction. obviously people that re-enact the violence in war will not go around trying to disintergrate someone, it just isn't an option. we don't have blasters and usuall blasters in star wars don't kill straightaway, like guns. They can knock someone over, though.

They already have sort of non-fiction troopers kinda because there is the indy army people which can pass off as the real thing. As long as lego doesn't make a Hitler minifigure we should be alright. Could you explain your views on a lightsaber, Leggodt?

Ya, as long as we are talking about some star wars ideas, I've actually thought of this huge, enormous clone star cruiser that is so big, that it actually has several hangers big enough to hold a fleat of star cruisers that are each about three football fields wide. I've even given it a name: the "Colonator". Well, I just felt like sharin'. :)

I don't think it will be the future of exo-force beacuse the dude could have just edited it and made his own kind of theme, like exo-wars. That would be pretty cool though if they had a theme that combined exo-force and star wars, but then again, if it was, LEGO would have to create something else thats not like star wars to make it there own.

Sorry, you're right rockdog3, I don't usually. A combination of the two would be disasterous for the star wars contract but i would like it. The exo force robots can well replace droids and the other exo-force minifigs will look nice with a lightsaber.

That would be awesome, but I dont think Mecha and Sci-fi would blend that well... besides, its NEVER gonna happen, due to licescensing stuff. I'm not trying to say you were excpecting it to, though.

I think we kinda knew that it wasn't gonna happen, it would be a very bad situation for lego to be in terms of the contracts that are being signed. However, we have the power of MOCs, and I'd like to see some attempts.
