There's an ad in today's papers which states that it's 3-for-2 on all LEGO at Toys R Us until Sunday. The offer IS available on-line, however, there would seem to be some restrictions. See the comments for more details.

It is available on line but they limit you to 2 of any 1 of the expensive sets, but you can mix and match to get the best deals.

Thanks Keith, I didn't notice that when I looked. I'll update the article.

Cheers - full advantage taken off! especially as some sets are reduced as well, managed to the the large public transport set, Hogwards Castle and the red train for £191 - all expensive sets are involved in the deal in the shop!

Bulk buyers beware. It took me half an hour before they would let me buy my bulging trolley full. After going through numerous managers. They even had to phone their loss adjusters for clearance!(I have no clue why) In fairness half of it was to break up for parts and a few pictures of MOCs on my phone seemed to convince them. : P

They also are giving a 10 pound TRU gift voucher for any spend on Star Wars toys over £50. This runs in conjunction with the two for three. Only catch is you have to wait til Nov 24 (*my birthday,as luck would have it*) to spend it. The gift voucher can be spent on any TRU merchandise, not just Star Wars. This was certainly the case at the Enfield branch this evening.

It seems WH Smith has a toys and gift sale on too with up to 60%, although the best I can find on Lego is 50% off (online) and most are only 25% which considering their usually high prices to begin with is not such a good deal.

I went to TRU today, and the lady at the lego isle said someone tried to buy 10 same sets of harry potter and they wouldn't allow him to. Apparently his picture is in all TRU's now to prevent him buying somewhere else in bulk - and probably sell them on eflay...

I've just been down to my branch, the LEGO was flying off the shelves! I picked up 3 TRU trucks and 20 gbp of toy story sets so as to get the free polybag set.

(Typed on phone while waiting for my wife to come out of Fratton Park...)

I wouldn't bother with the WHSmith sale. As an example, they are selling 8086 Star Wars Droid Tri-Fighter at a claimed 25% off, or a saving £9.25 per set, which sounds OK until you see that it's now a mere £27.74, actually 2.75 above RRP. Surely they can do better than this? Mind you, the Lego Atlantis Ladybird books at £3.29 incl a minifig are OK.

Brilliant offer, I bought the clone turbo tank, passenger train and public transport for just under £180. Then I got a free £10 starwars gift card to spend on anything for a week or so after the 24th of november for spending over a certain amount on lego star wars. So that will be going on another set at that time...

Anyone else get anything good???

Posted by Markey in Belgium, 15 Nov 2010 13:06

@Pobwall Yes, I bought: 8049 (technic) tractor with log loader ; 8265 (technic) front loader and 7633 (city) construction site ... all for just under £120 :)
