Sheriff's Lock-Up

One of the most fun sets ever

Posted by Korik4 in United Kingdom on 04 November 2009

As the box's picture may describe, this is one of the more exciting sets from Lego. And for that reason, one of the best. Whilst not being the biggest set in the world, there's a lot you can do with it.

For starters, there's four interesting minifigs included in the set, two 'bad' guys and two 'good' guys. Also featured are a rather large array of items for a set this size, such as guns, money, playing cards, dynamite and others. There's also a horse, (just one?) and a large-sized barrel not found in many sets.

The best feature of this set is the exploding door, which worked very well as I recall. As previously mentioned, I had a lot of fun playing with this set as a kid, so I would heartily recommend this as a toy for children.

This set is easy to build too, so you won't have to wait long before you can get to grips with this. Inside the sheriff's office there is a desk with a safe, and desk.

This set is average if you're looking for a good build but for fun or collection, one of the best sets of the time. Bring back the western theme!

Shuttle Launch Pad

One of the best sets Lego have created

There are so many good things to write about this set, it's difficult to know where to start. Well, first off, the set looks fantastic. A fabulous centerpiece of any Lego collection, it also looks realistic as well. I recieved this bad boy for Christmas one year and preceeded to build it straight away, the whole set took around one and a half to two and a half hours to build.

The crane works well too, it's always nice to see a mechanical/electrical element to work well with all those bricks. The seperate parts of the shuttle work well too, the rockets and the fuel tank can all be dismantled in stages like the real thing, and so does the moving launch pad. Also the shuttle includes a cool arm inside the storage area.

The minifigs are great, I love the scientist and the astronaut in particular.

I spent a lot of time with this set as a kid; the amount of hours someone can get out of this set is incredible. Me and my friend both had this set and we both loved them. (I remember my friend dropping his assembled set down the stairs)

I cannot recommend any other Lego set over this one, it really is that good.

One of my first sets

I do not remember buying this set, or when I first built or played with it, I just remember always having it and spending a lot of time playing with it. The plane is as it looks; simple, easy to build, and a lot of fun.

This set is a great alternative to the larger and more expensive planes at the time, and the minifig was a staple character for the storylines me and my friend made for Lego games. We called the stubbled, sunglasses-wearing man Max, just because he 'looks' like he's called Max.

I would recommend this if bought for a child as a toy, but to a serious Lego builder/collector, well, what you see is what you get with this one. I think you'll be able to make your own mind up.

Rather good space set

Posted by Korik4 in United Kingdom on 04 November 2009

First off, this ship looks very cool once built. Very slick and the colours contrast with each other nicely too. I am a fan of the large speceships that detach into smaller ships, (The Ice planet Deep freeze defender being the prime example) and this is a fine addition to that group. The wings are a splendid little touch, it gives the model a slight degree of personalisation, that some models tend to lack.

There's a lot of interesting pieces in this set, unfortunately I'm petrified of any of them breaking, especially the wings and antennae. The magnets are a nice idea, although the sliding storage compartment tends to come loose and rattle around a lot. The sounds on the electronic part could have been better too.

In all, this is a very good set, although there are some slight negatives which stop this from being a great set. Definately worth a look if you see it cheap.
