What a great book. It tells all how lego ever started and how the name lego came form. It tells everything about the history of lego itself. What theme's there were and how they started. Great pictures and good quality paper. Only the book looks bigger then it really is and the trains are explained very shortly. For only trains, leave it be. It's more interesting if you want to know a little of everything of lego itself. For example, the first pirates sets form 1989 were the first minifigs with painted heads and was a bestseller at that time.
I finally bought this set. I thought this train would look big, but it's a small train compared with the famous 7750. I'm a 12v train fan.The Emerald train is also not suitable for 12v. Train is too wide, the new magnets will hook at the inner 12v track and the wheels can jam. This train shows that lego finally changes the size of their trains. New magnets and new powersystem. Even the power system raise questions if it works in this set. Only the last big wheels give the train power to move.I do like the design of the wagon. Afterall, this set expect great things......after build it rather a disappointment. Lego is going backwards again with their sets.
This was my first legoset ever. I was 6 years old when I got this set form my grandparents I guess. That little fireman has seen grown my entire legocity as it nowadays. I guess he didn't thought about that, when he waited to be packed out with my little hands.Nowadays it's stands aside the traintrack, in case a train should catch fire.
This was my 2d train I got, when I was a child. I wanted set 7745 more, but it was too expensive for my parents at that time. Instead I got this battery train, together with a shell wagon and a 12v motor. And off course I got my first 7860 too. It has run on 12v ever since and tried to use to batterywagon for 4v lights in the wagons.Nowadays it runs on 4v again, as it was meant to be. To be honest, I do like the 4v system. It's made very smart.
This is my first legotrain ever. It took a few years before it was modified for 12v. Nowadays it has even a rare red 12v motor. I have this set now for almost 20 years. It's a simple and cheap legotrain. Standard blocks, nice minifigs and good instruction to make even a second model.
