The 2013 Brickset user survey: Responses from Over 18s

Question:
What ONE thing do you think should be done to improve Brickset?

Forum Advertising/Participation

Over 18, United States

Mobile apps! its easier to bring brickset to the legos instead of the legos to the desktop/web app.

and if you asked for 2 things i would say to improve the interface and functionality for syncing with rebrick. its not intuitive where to find it and i'm not even sure why i cant just give permission once and it just happens whenever i update my sets/parts.

Over 18, United States

The ability to split "owned" lists into multiple lists (one for my sets, one for my daughter's sets, one for investment, etc) without having to have multiple accounts.

Over 18, United States

Include set inventories. If they are available I don't know how to see them, I use Bricklink or Peeron for them.

The way the home page is designed could be better but I'm not exactly sure how. I just know that it *could* be better.

Over 18, United States

In my opinion Brickset is an extremely useful and valuable site for being free.. I can think of very little to improve it. To that end, the improvement I suggest is tighter integration with other brick sites and services that exist on the Internet. As someone who uses Brickset as their primary LEGO reference database I'd love to be able to leverage the effort of maintaining my Brickset collection in other LEGO fan sites. I realize certain services like Peeron include some level of integration - I'd love to see that further developed.

Thank you, Huw, for maintaining such a brilliant resource for all FOLs!

Over 18, United States

It would be nice if bricksetforum had the same auto-complete set searching as brickset does. I often want to look up a set people are talking about. I realise it's implemented as a different site though.

Searching in the forum should become more powerful, i.e. possibility to search in a thread or within a topic, or to search for messages with two or more specific keywords, etc.

Over 18, United Kingdom

Date of acquisition should be shown.

Over 18, France

Search sets by main colour - eg looking for an orange truck. I don't like how the site is startIng to include non building items as product listings. With the lego brand always expanding it may be hard to define what's lego and what's just a licensed product. Having said that I love the lego books eg Harry potter, Star Wars, super heros etc. can have it all I suppose. Anyway I love your site and well done.

Over 18, Australia

updates to my phone. Can that be done? For instance how ever you are keeping up with lego deals on amazon I would LOVE to get those on my phone so i could go check them before they sell out. Or when you post a new article it would tell me on the phone. You might already have this because you have so much that sometimes i miss it.

BUT Huw you do an amazing job on the site it is very complete and with out it I would be lost in a sea of lego!

Just a minor... thought. Your title of the site is 'Brickset: LEGO® set guide', since you are a AFOL and the site a fan site not endorse or sponsor by The LEGO Group. Would it be better to say 'BrickSet: LEGO® fan set guide'. To give the feeling of for LEGO fans by LEGO fans? :)

I Would like to click on the list of wanted sets where it shows the price estimate of the sets and then it take you to a similar page as the Amazon comparison site but only for your wanted list and cover all sources of prices including live Lego, Argos, smiths etc based only on the county the user is in, and perhapse throw in the lowest buy it now price from Ebay.

I think it is too much "north-centric". A Lego shop have just opened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I didn't see a notice here (sorry if it was posted and I didn't see by my fault). Brazil and Chile, for example, have a very active AFOL community and I've never seen Lego prices in Real (Brazilian currency) or Peso (Chilean currency) here in Brickset. Maybe the site is meant to be regarding only the north, indeed, but if that's not the case, mind that there are Lego fans down here, too.

Over 18, Brazil

when searching sets you own there should be option to click on specific year like it used to be!!

seems we can only sort years but not view specific years anymore, this is the thing i miss the most

also when viewing pictures of sets they should be opened in thumbnail on site we are on not on a new page

I am a Canadian user and I noticed that in my Lego database for price listings, the price is always in American $ and not Canadian even though I select the value in Canadian $. I also noticed that about 30% of my total collection has no price listing. I know that it can be very difficult to get that info, however considering time consuming information that you can get from Brickset, I believe that an accurate and complete price listing for 99% of the Lego sets in your database is vital. I may have talked about two issues, however I would like to see much improved price listings in the $ of the users choice. Thank you!

Export "My sets" including my personal set-information from the Advanced Collection Manager . In general (if possible) export to pdf.

in collection analysis not stand corrected to have different percentages by 100% as in the case of the city subtheme space, because of the set 30016 or in the case of collectable minifigures, not to have the box from 60 (forgive the bad translation)

the recently discontinued at lego.com section generally includes products that are just backordered, not out of stock (discontinued) yet.

Over 18, United States

Perhaps try to be less UK focused (and consequently more focused on othe countries) but I realize it really depends on user community contributions.

Over 18, France

I cannot really think of anything that needs changing. I only found one or two mistakes in years of using this site, and those were easily fixed by the admins.

Over 18, United States

Over 18, United States

It would be good if we could have a few custom fields to "my sets" and "my wishlist" in the database. this way we could for example give personal rating (for the wish list) or categorise in "kids set", "adult set", etc

Over 18, Canada

I like the old home page better. I don't really like the reviews at the top. And I wouldn't mind more rumors, e.g. what the holiday sets might be or what future LORT sets there might be, etc.

Over 18, United States

nothing springs to mind

Over 18, New Zealand

Prices in more currencies (eg Euros) would be good

Over 18, Canada

Is it possible to track Lego sets by name as well as number? Or is that like really complicated? I remember the names of my sets better than the numbers. Maybe ços I'm not an engineer...(:

Over 18, Canada

News on new items and LEGO related subjects can be a little slow to appear or not at all compared to other sites which means I have to trawl more sites than I would like instead of sticking to Brickset.

Over 18, United Kingdom

Connection to self made/built scenarios.

Over 18, Germany

Use of jquery, a mobile version to use out on the road when checking prices of models. Better integration with latest prices, maybe some sort of connection to hotukdeals, that has good price checks/offers.

Over 18, United Kingdom

I would like to see all the sets retail value. With my collection there is a few sets from the 80's and early 90's which I have that prices aren't listed. I have a shop at home catalog from christmas 1991 that shows some of my sets that I have with retail prices that aren't listed. So the value of my collection is off due to the number of sets that I have compared to the retail prices that is listed on the website.

Unless you're getting a good bit of revenue from them, get rid of the eBay listings. A lot of the time the recommended listings are not relevant to what I'm looking up. I think that space could be better used, say, to start highlighting reviews, or even mini-discussions about the particular sets or something that's informative. But really, they're not that intrusive or anything, just a waste of space. Thank you for the great site!

Over 18, United States

I would like to be able to compare my collection to that of other members.

Over 18, United States

A very minor request if possible: inclusion of 'Top of Page' and 'Bottom of Page' buttons perhaps for easier navigation.

Over 18, United Kingdom

I like simplicity and ease of use, try to avoid too much clutter on the home page :) Thanks for providing a great site - it's one of my favorite Lego related stops

Over 18, United States

I find the Brickset Android app helpful for looking up basic set information. Occasionally, when using the app, I've marked a set a "Favorite", but nothing seems to be retained after I close the app. I would find it useful for this to be added to the website's databases so that the designation would be recorded/synced.

Over 18, United States

Put more pictures of unreleased sets up :)

Over 18, Canada

Well considering that most of us are lego addicts (LOL), I think some articles from Master Builders would be cool. Also some ideas on how to store and sort our legos would be great too. I am just getting back into building again with legos, at the age of 40 and over 12,000 bricks. I love it even more than when i was a kid. And now i can afford my habit, well, most of the time. LOL!

Over 18, United States

Over 18, United States

Over 18, United States

How about some Brickset-exclusive polybags? lol

Can't really think of a real issue that needs addressing.

Over 18, United States

I think you can improve the set database. I think you have a small error in:
Example: I am looking for rebuilding the Taj Mahal. Comparing the origin partlist with the list on your database, the amout of bricks more than 200 parts were ignored (sorry for my bad English explanation). In this set some parts were needed more than 200 times, but you only show 200. Example: 3000840: Plate 1X1 - Tr.: 378 parts are included in the set.

Over 18, Germany

I can't think of anything at this time. Overall this is a great site that I visit daily for Lego related news from around the world and to maintain my personal lego collection.

Over 18, United States

A lot of times I don't remember to login right away (or if I'm just here to check an article quick I don't bother to). But then if am reading an article and I get to the bottom of it and want to comment, I need to scroll back up to do that (tedious, if it was a long review or has a lot of comments). Why not make the "Login or register to comment" blurb at the bottom into those links as well? Save time! That's my biggest pet peeve right now.

Over 18, United Kingdom

I was wondering what happened to the video tab idea -- did I overlook it?
Also, when viewing your website on an I-Phone, I have trouble accessing the dropdown menu choice of "Amazon US" under the "Buy" tab. I like to check Dr. Dave's updated Amazon deals list daily. The option flashes briefly then disappears before I can select it. Has any other Brickset member complained of this?

Thank you for offering us the chance to give feedback, and for listening.

Over 18, United States

Cannot think of anything except perhaps comments to posts being in opposite order ie newest at top of screen, would save having to keep scrolling down page. Apologies if this can be done and I've missed the setting option - more than likely. Just to stress it's not a major concern.

I would like some way to filter these out of the forum discussion listings based on my profile.

Over 18, Canada

not really for the site, but it's a shame that all the news stories operate off a Flickr link, since my employment blocks Flickr for some bloody reason. Not really the site's issue. Just the only thing i could think of. :P

Over 18, United States

I don't know if it'd make it too cluttered, but I'd appreciate the inclusion of a link directly from the "What's New in the Database" to the theme from which each set comes.

Over 18, United States

Sets that are temporarily out of stock on the Lego website are displayed in Brickset with an expired availability date, implying they are out of stock permanently.

Over 18, United Kingdom

I think the forum pages should be set up like a more typical forum site with categories and sub categories.

Over 18, United States

Provide more "featured" reviews on the home page of current/relevant sets.

Over 18, United States

Over 18, United States

Free LEGO Death Star for every reader. No? Oh, OK, I think it would be a really good iOS App. I tried one a while back but it just didn't work. What I want is to have an app that has all the Lego sets on them and their most recent price that is held locally and refreshed when networked to save having to do a refresh when I'm not on wi-fi then I can see if a kit is a bargain or not.

Don't let yourself pander too often to the polybag, minifigure, and reselling fetishists. You all do a pretty good job in regards to that last category, but I see ground being given to the minifigure obsession and the polybag lunacy, moreso on the latter than the former. Remember, it's BrickSET, not BrickBAG (or BrickFIGURE, for that matter). Obviously, my suggestion is partly in jest because it is difficult to find anything that needs serious improvement on Brickset (aside from updating prices and piece counts in the database). Still...those polybag fanatics....tsk tsk TSK!

I'd say the Forums are the weak point. The look and feel are so far removed from any other forum I've used, I just don't find myself posting as often as I do elsewhere. Another thing about the forums, originally there were a lot of collectors, but now it seems to be overrun with resellers. The topics that seem to get the most attention are just not that interesting to most collectors and AFOLs.

Fine, OK, remove it. Can I at least get a reason?
Did I violate any rules?
Is there a dispute process?

I get it that it's your site, but do you want it to be enriched by the community, or are you going to be a dictator that decides what content is appropriate and what isn't without any vetting process?

That's kind of lame and immature. I'm not sure if I want to comment again on your site. I'm not sure what I said that was so "wrong" in yours or whoever edited it eyes.

A more exciting/interesting website design. I feel like the 'new to database' photo section is not necessarily what needs to be seen first. I come for whatever the news stories are - like announcing a brand new set, or set names, or a new theme. I'm less interested in what pictures you have added to the database. That may simply be because I fully expect that you will add all new images to the database without you showing me in at the top of the home page.

Over 18, United States

Aesthoetcally it is a little weak. For a newcomer navigating the front page is not intuitive.

Much better organisation of the menu structures (and features) is needed. There are tons of great things on brickset, but finding them is often a challenge and can be convoluted (one example - where are bricklists? where are other peoples and where are mine? but there are tons of examples like this.). It just needs some standard navigational schemas and approaches, and a rethink of the 'routes to features' with a view to building consistent mental models (rather than different ways of finding things depending on where you are).

I really think Brickset can be used to help AFOLs connect in the real world. Perhaps a search feature to find Bricksetters who live in a certain state. Users can opt out of this feature if they do not want to share their location with the community but for those that do this feature could really be beneficial.

The only thing of recent history that I wished for on the site was a way to browse the database and filter to show only polybags. It is a small request that might be difficult to implement. I think it would be beneficial to break each theme/subtheme down even further into "waves" or "assortments", i.e. those products that were released at the same time. I would like the ability to view, say, the Space Police 3 line by waves, so I know what sets were released together. This type of information would be helpful in determining buying habits, so that I can plan to buy those that might soon be leaving the shelves. Now that the set numbers are more rigidly determined, it's not as much of an issue, but oftentimes there will be an two waves that get intermingled when viewed by order of set number. I also realize that some products are released at different times in different geographic locations (Galaxy Squad, for instance) but that is merely just another datapoint/filter, no?

More daily postings and articles. This is mostly because I frequently check brickset because I am always hoping to see something new. I like the content and the site so much, that I am eager for more. This suggestion is in no way a slight to the high quality of content I see at Brickset, I just love it and wish there was more! The following is a list of ideas and suggestions of what additional content I think would be fun. Also, I realize that the focus of the site is brickSET, so I wouldn't want to lose that focus (that is, after all, why we like it), but I think there is some content that would be good to augment the set data

- additional in depth reviews (I really like the pictures, especially huw's)
- more reviews around gift buying season from parents that might buy lego or lego Duplo for children to help other parents find sets that are playable and appropriate. I don't see a lot of duplo attention (which makes sense, but still).
- perhaps a series of articles on the history of Lego
- I'd be interested to see if there are any unique female fans of lego perspectives. Granted, women like lego just like men like lego, but I sense a lack of female voice (which could totally be wrong) and would like to see more, perhaps.
- a series of articles on collecting nd how people manage collections (what do people do about the dust! It's maddening!)
- a series of posts highlighting LUGs in major cities, which might encourage both internet and real world interactions among the lego community
- Maybe highlight indepth reviews of older sets, or bring attention to special sets that are favorites or that brought people out of "dark I know that this might bring attention to sets that old and unavailable, but could be is nice to see.
- It might be interesting to see people put together alternative builds for lego sets

I get the feeling TLG is influencing the front page reviews And/Or having some say over the timing of certain editorial pieces.

For example, there was one set, which when reviewed originally was described as being on the expensive side. Later, the same set was reviewed again, but this time in what appeared to be a promotional spot, almost like a paid for slot, and received a 'this set is great value for money' judgement, in direct contrast to the original review (same reviewer).

I seriously have nothing bad to say, your site is great with both my PC and mobile devices. Maybe if you had Galaxy Squad hotlinked on the top of the browse page instead of say, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it would be perfect!!

Over 18, United States

Since Brickset is a LEGO fan site, it would be awesome if it allows users to customize minifigures and display them as their user avatar.

This is some what related to user avatars - it would be really helpful if user locations is displayed under user name on forum posts. This is especially helpful for buying and shopping threads where members post their latest finds and store discounts.

Add a checkbox (or something) to remove sets from the Amazon discount lists if I'm not interested in buying them - for instance, the minifig magnets always show up as discounted, but I have no interest in them and would like to be able to check a box (much like the 'I own it' or 'I want it' boxes) that would remove them from the Amazon search.

Give every user one set of their choice on a yearly basis...

Seriously though, I still think this page is one of the quickest, and easiest ways to get all the prices on all the sets you want on a single page...if you live in Europe. Amazon has basically become the sales price standard of the world. You know if you're buying a retail set somewhere else close to or lower than the current Amazon price, you're probably getting the best deal available (save for exclusives & retired sets, of course.)

If we Americans could get a page like this, but instead of comparing different countries' Amazon websites, you could compare prices among Walmart, Target, TRU, Barnes, S@H, Kmart, YoYo.com, etc., along with Amazon (maybe even ebay?), that would be great!

Perhaps you wanted a critique instead of a suggestion, but here you are - Brickset is superb. Just don't break it! ;)

Over 18, United States

Hard to say. I don't think there are any major issues with the site, but there are a lot of smaller issues, like set reviews, an easier-to-use query builder (AKA advanced search), more commitment to older data (pre-1970, let's say), fuzzy classification (rather than strict hierarchy).

... And I can't say it'd benefit many people, but a nice database dump feature :)

A better way of reading reader reviews; one that places highly-regarded, critical, well-informed, and detailed reviews in a place that is easy to access, while the blunt and simple reviews should be somehow placed out of sight. I would like it, if in addition to the existing headers for types of topics (collecting, building etcetera) on the forum, topics would/could also be assorted according to 'Lego-theme/license'. That way people who are interested (like myself) in LOTR and The Hobbit Lego and everything related to Tolkien are able to find all of this under a specific header created for this. ( I don't mean reviews must be like idiotic youtube lego reviews. Just old-school brickset reviews with some visuals.)

This would be also perfect if there would be bricklink recommendations under the ebay reccommendations.

Given the number of Brickset members, and the quantity & value of sets owned by Lego members, Brickset should use it's "voice' to air concerns/issues to the lego company. The Lego company may actually start to listen.

One of the biggest gripes among non American lego fans is the discriminatory pricing policies of Lego, when there is no justification for the price differential. Why should some people have to often pay double the price for the same lego set.

As one Brickset member recently commented, diehard lego fans will find ways of sourcing lego at "American" prices. But its the millions of others, who may only buy 1 or 2 sets, who are deterred from buying when they know they are being ripped off. In the long run, the lost sales are only harming the lego company.

Over 18, China

Maybe some more exposure of custom Lego websites, sets and instructions. As a bloke who likes Lego and tries to build my own sets, but has no skill what so ever, info on people who can design these great sets is much appreciated. The info on the Serenity set being done privately was great.

I always go back to the database. I think it would be great if Brickset could set the goal of filling in this database between 1967 to 1972 over the next year. I think it's a large, but doable goal. With sites like Peeron and Lugnet die or dieing this is an area where Brickset could really pick up the slack. I realize that only a small minority of Brickset users would be interested in this, but it's a chance for Brickset to rise above.

I've found the search feature for the forums to be a little lacking. If we could specify search only in subject, subject + body, etc. that would be helpful. I don't use the Forum or the Set Reviews much, if at all, so I did not rate them. This lack of use is mostly due to how and when I use the internet and not due to how Brickset is set up. That being said, I might use these functions more if something were to entice me there. But probably not as I buy most of the sets that I am interested in, and I doubt a positive or negative review would sway me either direction.

I am a collector of minifigures. I do a lot of buying on Ebay. If possible, I'd like the ability to add minifigures that I own to my sets that I own page that were not aquired in a set. An example would be, I have all four of the TMNT turtles. Only one (Mikey), is one that I aquired through the purchase of a set. Therefore, it is the only one in my minifigures that shows up as one that I own. I like that when I select a set that I own, the minifigures update, but if I could add minifigures to my collection that I aquired elswhere, that would be awesome. I would love to have more accurate ratings of how well people liked the set. I would love to have more people rate sets on parts, building process, etc. At the moment, you need to review sets to be able to rate them. When there already is a good review of a set, it's silly to review it again. Would it be possible just to rate sets on a number of points, or to find incentives for more people to write reviews? With so many users, it's strange to see that some sets only have a few reviews.

I think it would be great to have a MOC blog category as well and have it configurable to turn on or off if some people don't care for that news. Rather than just the cuusoo MOCs we see every now and then. Set review posts are great but it's nice to see some LEGO fans creativity at work. Find a way to make peace with those knuckleheads over at Bricklink so that the strengths of both sites (BL inventory, BS set database & news) can be merged (in Brickset is my prefernce) to benefit everyone. I recommend bypassing the BL community, as it is overrun by a very few (very vocal) people, and going straight to the BL admin or owners.

Inventory from LEGO is great (you can see what LEGO is using today as inventory for a given set), but it is the case too many times that LEGO does not list the complete inventory for a set and this makes it not very useful when trying to figure out what is missing on an incomplete one or trying to find out compatible/equivalent parts. Would like the ability within a theme to go year to year in that theme. For instance currently you can look at 2013 Star Wars. You can go theme to theme within 2013 but to get to 2012 Star Wars you have to go back to the year click on 2012 and then click on Star Wars. It would be nice if you could click on a 2012 Stars Wars button from the 2013 Star Wars page. Then the 2012 Star Wars page would have a button for 2011 Star Wars and 2013 Star Wars.

I noticed that users rated the Forum very poorly last year. I am not sure why people tended to favor it the least because I think it is one of the best parts of the site. Personally, I would allow for maximum personal customization of every feature of the site. I know that this is a project on which Huw and others have been toiling over the past year, and I like everything they have done. I just think that these endeavors could go even further. For example, what if Brickset allowed for full customization of the search features, and what if you could search within or outside your collection? With continually rising numbers of data coming in from various fronts, Brickset's users and staff need to keep considering different ways of processing it, both by machines and by individuals. Brickset, first and foremost, is a database, after all, so this should remain its key feature even as it continues expanding to become the hub of the Lego fan community in so many ways.

I would strongly encourage you to stop acting whiny and butthurt when you're covering news about video games, Hero Factory or anything else that is not to your personal tastes (for example, your recent article about a LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game was like 99% whinging about how you supposedly shouldn't be reporting on it). It is extremely unprofessional, severely harms your credibility as a LEGO news outlet and as a pillar of the LEGO community, and just makes you sound like a little child (and even though this is a website about children's construction toys, that's still not a good thing :P). If you're going to style yourself as a place for LEGO news, you just cannot pick and choose which parts you will work on, especially since you already devote so much news time to obscure minutiae which is even less relevant to LEGO's core business than its video games. Your personal preferences should not come into play here; if it's really so difficult for you to just grit your teeth and get it over with tactfully, hire a reporter who CAN talk about games and Hero Factory without complaining.

This is mostly directed at Huw; I haven't observed this behaviour in any other news writers, or at least not as regularly as he. I have the utmost respect for Huw as a web developer, but I can't say I think much of him as a journalist, and this unfortunate tendency alone is my biggest hesitation in recommending Brickset to others.

As a final note, I accept that my terminology here veers heavily into making this sound like it's supposed to be a SERIOUS JOURNALISTIC ENDEAVOUR, and some would argue that a fan news site shouldn't be held to the same standards as a formal journalistic outlet. Not only do I generally disagree with this notion - news is news - but we aren't talking massive journalistic overhauls here. We're just talking common sense and decency.

Please?

A lot of times, I am not sure what to make of the tone of this site. Some AFOL sites are very happy and fun, and some are just horrible wall-to-wall complaining, and you have to wade through all the whining to get to the real news. This site falls somewhere in the middle... sometimes it seems like there is too much complaining, whining, and self-centered demandingness in the various commentaries. I am sure that some of them are just children, but I know a lot of them are AFOLs that want to grab the opportunity to complain here because they think this is their chance to send a message to TLG. That is fine, but people do need to realize that when you are mass-producing a physical product, it is never going to be as perfect as a digital product like a game or a movie, where the design team can simply work one prototype copy to absolute perfection with a multi-million dollar budget, and then magically copy it a million times. There are inherent limits with manufacturing physical bricks. That is one reason I love the LEGO Video Games, because they show what that world could be with an unlimited budget.

And that is a human problem with no immediate solution.... But on the technical side, everything seems perfect!

Excellent Work!

I would love it if :

- when having sold/traded all the minifigs from one set on my haves list, would it be possible to have that loss reflected automatically in the total of 'my minifig collection' list, while still having the set appear on my haves and brick inventory remaining unchanged?

Could this maybe be implemented with the ACM?

Better quality control on some of the user reviews of sets. Some reviews are terrible, do they get deleted if they have a lot of unhelpful ratings? I think if you could comment on reviews it would be helpful to ask questions or add to or critique certain aspects of reviews. Also, if there was a way to keep the most helpful reviews as the first reviews that show up instead of most recent, some recent reviews are not good and can bury better, older reviews.

Some of the categories could be tweaked. For example gear and games for themes could/should be grouped in with the themes (e.g. Boba Fett alarm clock and Hoth game don't go with Star Wars), and it would be nice to be able to see set owned percentages that don't include sets you wouldn't consider part of the series (e.g. all the exclusive polybags and the like counting towards collections. I know there are problems with the idea, but taking lugnet's guide (their set database - mainly before 2000) would complete brickset, mostly from pictures and comments pov, as they do have rather extra info about sets that is being missed here on brickset such as -
- set features not obvious from pictures (pull this, swing that etc.)
- was the set considered to be good back then or not (if not, why?)
- is the set a redo of an older set (90's sets being redo's of 70's - 80's sets)

I'm pretty sure the tfols don't care much for this and that most afols lived thru those years but between them there are people like me - I saw the sets but never thought of them as I do now, as an afol, and would like to know what the afols of that time thought of them back then.

more importantly, the comments made on lugnet are from the younger afols of today, and gave more honest opinion about the sets (as I'm sure the same people, today, would glorify those sets regardless of their opinions back then).
most importantly - if you read this far - thank you :-)
