Review: 5001121 BR Minfigure
Posted by Huw,This might end up being the shortest review I've ever written; there's only so much that can be said about a 5-piece set!
Nevertheless, given its quality, I felt it worthwhile posting a couple of photos and suggesting how you can get hold of one of these.
BR is a chain of toy stores with branches in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany. I believe this minifig with the store's logo (which can be seen on their website), has been produced to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
In many ways, it could be considered to be the 172nd [1] collectable minifig because it's very similar in terms of it being made in China, and having brand new -- and very high quality -- printing and hat, and comes with a CMF 4 x 3 plate to stand on.
It's a very desirable minifig and if you don't live in a country where BR has stores, I suggest you head to the forum marketplace topic and see if you can hook up with someone who has them to trade.
Thanks to Diggydoes in the forum who traded with me for this one!

One of these Minifigures is on its way to me from Denmark, and it looks like a neat figure. I am amazed that there has been a brand new piece created for this one off Minifigure!
I thought there were 9 Team GB?
Well spotted, I knew it was an odd number :-)
He looks like the weirdo brother of the series 5 Royal Guard.
^Gave me a laugh. :)
I got this figure 2 days ago, and I think this is the first licensed human character after 2004 that is yellow (which I like).
Doesn't http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2514/3755251670_145a981681_m.jpg count as a collectible minifig?
That's more rare than silly Mister Gold!
Indeed they are, good call! He's not made in China, though :)
Huw, I also thought he belonged with the CMFs, given his base plate - both he and the Toy Soldier (which curiously WASN'T sold with a base plate) have been added to the serried ranks of my display CMFs.
Wait you traded mr gold for it! why would you do that no offense just I want one soooo bad and then to hear people just simply giving them away whyyyyyyyy!?!
What does a post like this do to me?
makes me go straight to ebay and buy a BR figure. 13$ wasnt to bad though..
OK I managed to bag a few BR Minifigs from my local BR and 5 x Lego S10 Minifigs.
The excitement no knowing before I got home and opened with my son was nice. We didn't find Mr Gold but the BR Lego men are probably more rare than Mr Gold ;)
There was one new Box of S10 so I felt about 10 and just bought the 5 left all the others there untouched maybe some one will find Mr Gold there.
Erk! That head and hat are not for me but I wish there were many many more MF shoe and boot prints around.
I preferred the toy-like soldiers in http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=9349-1 but these recent two toy soldiers have a trouser stripe which is... essential?
"...you don't have to buy them, you don't have to buy them, you don't have to buy them..."
Ha! what do therapists know?
It's funny - when I first saw this minifigure, I first thought it was for "Baskin Robbins" - the ice-cream store - seeing as we don't have "BR" toy stores in the US!
Totally looking to trade/buy one of these. If you have one, contact me.
I like how they make more minifigures have printed legs nowadays.
I just got it as a gift from my girlfriend from the local BR store in Oslo. So it is available in Norway also.
My aunt (from Sweden) just went back yesterday, and t here happens to be a BR Leksaker in her home town. I might have one pretty soon.
The BR minifig will most likely be less rare than Mr. Gold, since there is 248 BR stores in Scandinavia. They only need to have 21 minifigs per store to surpass the 5000 Mr. Golds. At least one of the members of the danish LUG Byggepladen, has bought 30 BR minifigs from one BR store.
looking for someone who can get me some... pls contact me!!
I think the minifigure is cute, but the actual logo is scary!
He looks kinda like a cross between The Nutcracker and something Walt Disney himself might've drawn.
I too would be interested in one if someone is interested in mailing to the USA. Thanks!
I'm still holding a few BR guys. PM me and let's work something out :-)
Im from Norway and i got quite a few of these on my hand, pm me if you wanna trade?
Sandman: I Bought 196 BR minifigs and sent to South Korea ;)
And Northern: Make sure to stop by Brikkelauget =)
THATS CREEPY .....*shivers*
