NIce Creator House

Posted by Loganwan in United States on 30 December 2009

If you are a fan of the Creator houses, you will like this house. If you have not had the opportunity to build one of these houses, I suggest you get out there and get this one. There are many great elements that not only help to make a nice house, but will give you new ideas for putting together some of your own ideas.

One great aspect of this house is the roof. There are many great lines that would look good in many of today's modern designs as well as classic houses. The two forward facing house sections blend in wonderfully with the larger roof.

Another build feature is the tree. I know, there is not too much that can be special about a tree, but this is the "Apple Tree House" after all. What is nice about the tree is how different it is from other trees in the series. It would have been easy to just throw in an old-school tree piece with the set. But the tree would have been small and it would look out of place. Here, the designers made a tree that is ready for picking and looks less round than the Beach House.

The basketball hoop, lawn mower, and mail box are all great little extras that really make this build seem more "homey."

The only complaint I have about the set is the lack of detail on the back. Not even one window? This is the reason the Apple Tree House looses one point. LEGO sets, especially in the Creator line should be appealing 360 degrees, not just from the front.

That being said, this is a great set, a beautiful house, and I look forward to building the other two houses that the set can be made into... if I can bring myself to tear this one down.

Color scheme is awesome

Posted by Niallskie in United States on 22 December 2009

An Oregonian as well and had the same luck as the last posting as I got this set at Fred Meyer for a discounted price of $34.99 (20% off) af Fred Meyer. Grab this awesome set before the store closed for the night, then wanted to get another one as I was really amazed with this set but sad so say they went back on the original price in the morning after, I was just lucky to get that discount when I got my set. And to think that this is a new set.

I love the color scheme of this house, blue roof alone is a big change from other houses with red or black roofing. Fantastic mixing of color of grey on the bottom part of the house, red boarder then white, really makes this house quite unique. Same comment about the garage having no wall between it and the living room. Nothing major as it is fixable by the right colored bricks if the open space others you. The lawnmower and the basketball hoop is a great addition to the house, gives the feel of a typical suburban house.

All in all this is a set worth buying at its original price of $44.99, what more if it's on sale right? Oh and I guess the creator series of lego are not supposed to have any minifigure just incase some are wondering why there are no minifigures in this set. One good advace is to get the lego set 3177 (City Car), it is a smart car with one minifigure which will definitely fit to this set.

I really like this

Posted by darkmoonlady in United States on 20 December 2009

Picked up this set at Fred Meyer here in Oregon for a very reasonable 35.99 on sale. When I saw the set online I couldn't wait to pick it up as I just finished building the Family Home. I'd say this set although smaller has still got a lot good detail and great parts. The lawnmower especially, I can't wait to pick up another set and swap out the yellow for green or blue.

I haven't built the other two houses yet but from the manual they look pretty interesting. One thing the garage has no wall between it and the "living space" in the house, which seems a bit odd. Other than that the blue roof pieces alone make it worth the price tag, as well as they tan windows and doors.

Pro would have to be the roof pieces and windows, great for MOC's.
Smaller than the family home but if you can get it at a discount even better.

Love this set, highly recommend it.

god bless america

Posted by abbeylee34 in United States on 19 December 2009

When I saw the prelim pics back in late 2009, this was one of the sets I was least impressed with. Not that I though it looked bad, I just didn't think it looked as good as most of the others. I got this thinking it would probably be okay, but not great. It turned out to be better than I had expected.

Pros:
-not a black roof.
-basket ball hoop.
-Good colors. red white and blue.
-Looks good with other creator homes.
-Pretty sturdy.

Cons:
-not a real baseket ball.
-No minifigs.

This is a good set, and looks great with the beach, family, and red roof house.
