My first Indy set ever

Posted by KLOKRIECHER in Germany on 08 August 2009

This is my very first Indiana Jones set I got. I got it for Christmas and birthday together because this set is so expensive.
This set has lots of stickers. I don't like them but they're fun to put on. The whole baseplate is NOT printed. I wish Lego could print the pieces but I think it's so expensive.
You can also get some cool minifigures in the set: Indiana Jones, Irina Spalko, Mutt Williams, 1 skeleton, 3 chrystal skull skeletons, 2 ancients and one russian guard.

This model has lots of playablities: Flickfireing darts, lots of traps, hidden stairs & doors, rotating throne room and the stairs can disappear if you push the red head parts. This is a MUST HAVE for all Lego fans.

Positive:

- Lot's of playabilities
- 10 minifigures
- cool design
- high adventure

Negative:

- Price
- Stickers (This model has lot's of stickers)

Check out my video on the YouTube to see this model in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMGOJ9GW3-A&feature=channel_page

By far the best Indiana Jones set!

Posted by Harry H in United Kingdom on 14 July 2009

First of all I would like to say that I own every Indiana Jones set and this is by far the best. It has many booby traps, mini figures and and it is EXTREMELY big!

As this is a big set, it needs a long review to cover everything.

OK here it is...The longest review ever written...

Mini figures

-Indiana Jones - Just the same as in all the other sets.
-Mutt Williams - Quite rare, He has a cool outfit.
-Irina Spalko - Quite rare, I own 3 though, just the same as in other sets.
-Russian guard - OK, The same as in other sets, not an original face.
-Conquistador skeleton - I love this figure, just a skeleton with pearl silver armour and a black hat on.
-Ugha warrior with hair - Cool rare and exclusive figure, a must have.
-Ugha warrior without hair - Same as the other warrior, just without hair. He has a nice little tattoo on the back of his head.
-Crystal skeletons (x3) - Really cool and rare. The crystal skulls have a blue brain inside. However, the body is white, not transparent like it should be.

Traps

-Flick fire missiles that shoot from the eyes of the entrance.
-Cog behind the waterfall that shoots darts, the coolest trap.
-A spiral staircase that disappears in to a wall.
-Obelisk which if you lift up,makes some sharp blades appear.
-Throne room spins, making the victim fall down a bottomless pit.
-Dragon heads that drop skulls. There are 2.
-A staircase that gives way.

Russian vehicle

This is some sort of tank/jeep which isn't very well made. It looks like it was just thrown in as an afterthought.

Pros

-Caterpillar treads
-Has the "green" theme and fits in with other vehicles, so you can have an army.
-Cool fuel tank.

Cons

-Not airtight on bottom.
-No control panel.
-Badly made.

Entrance

An entrance which is a face and is quite tall. It's eyes are flick fire missiles.

Pros

-Stickers look good.
-Big.
-Flick fire eyes.
-Can be placed on temple to make it look bigger.

Cons

-None

Front of temple

Here there are stairs that give way, falling skulls and an obelisk.

Pros

-Stairs give way when you push down the dragon's head.
-Push obelisk own to raise the blades blocking the door.
-Skulls that drop down when you pull a skull on a stick.
-Stickers look good.
-Lots of vegetation.
-Dinosaur statues

Cons

-Obelisk can get stuck
-Stairs give way too easily.
-You only get half the obelisk, in the film it has 4 pillars.

Waterfall room and spiral staircase

These rooms have many cool pieces and amazing booby traps.

Pros

-Waterfall.
-Really powerful dart that can be fire by turning a cog behind the waterfall.
-Staircase is brilliant.
-Waterfall sticker looks amazing.
-Second set of stairs that are not spiral.
-Skull.
-Spikes on the floor.

Cons

-Waterfall sticker is hard to put on.
-Darts hurt when if fired at you, yes, they're that powerful!

Throne room and door

This room is where the crystal skeletons sit.

Pros

-3 crystal skeletons.
-Golden thrones.
-Very detailed sticker on door.
-Spinning statue that has a clear gem and 2 spears.
-Throne room spins.
-Bottomless pit.
-Lots of skulls.

Overall

Pros

-No repeat building.
-10 minifigures.
-Worth it.
-HUGE!
-Lots of working booby traps.
-Very stable.
-Lots of play features.
-Nice design.
-High piece count.
-Lots of accessories and weapons.
-Cool vehicle.
-Goes well with other Kingdom of the crystal skull sets.
-Rare and exclusive minifigures.
-Huge tan baseplate.

Cons

-Expensive
-No Oxley, Mac and Marion minifigures.
-Only 2 Warriors.
-Only 3 crystal skeletons (It doesn't bother me, but it might to others.)
-Takes up a lot of space.
-Another Indy, Lego should give him a new face or something.

Construction/stability - 9/10

Minifigures - 9/10

Playability - 10/10

Value - 10/10

Overall - 38/40

10/10

5/5

I said it would be a long review.

I recommend this set to Indiana Jones fans, but get it soon because they will stop doing this set and replace it with the new ones.

I hope this review helped.
