I've uploaded scans of the UK brand store calendars to flickr: front | back. The big news appears to be a free pick-a-brick box with a £50 purchase, other than that it's, unsurprisingly, full of Christmas sets.

The US version is available in toomuchdew's flickr stream: front | back.

The Holiday Season Arrives - Impulse Sets Abound

I'm getting reports that a sizeable variety of impulse sets are now showing up in the seasonal section of the American mega-retailer Target.

Unfortunately I've been away on business and didn't get a chance to post an article about it until now.

So better late than never, check out your local store and see what's left. My experience has been that even huge Sainsburys stores don't carry very much LEGO beyond Bionicle so don't get your hopes up. The offer is also available online but everything is now sold out!

[Note to self: get a netbook to avoid posting delays in future!]

Next CCC building imminent

Brickset member et314 ran the Swedish blog Legobloggen through Google translator and found out the following snippet of news about the next Cafe-Corner-Compatible building: "Right now the snacks on a set of numbers 10211th. (The set name is as yet unknown). According to the information it must be a building with a corner shop and consist of 2182 pieces. Colour scheme is said to be gray and yellow with black windows. The price data are suggesting a price of Kr 1499.90. Release date is said to be March 2010." Eurobricks is also reporting very similar news so that's yet another set to look forward to in 2010!

It's been a slow week for news...

After the flurry of excitement following the discovery of year 2010 set images and news of the Daily Mirror promotion in the UK, its been a slow week for news... What's more, I bought a new PC the day Windows 7 came out and I've been having a bit of grief with it, with USB devices. I don't think it's a Windows 7 problem per se but I can't get to the bottom of it. I've just done a system recovery to see if starting from scratch will help. Consequently I'm without my usual suite of programs for email, website development and so on. Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon!

One potentially interesting piece of news this week, which I'm going to have to try and remember the exact details of because I don't have the email to hand, is that someone emailed to say they think they saw the new Star Wars battle packs in Target in Florida, I think it was. If that were the case I'm sure it would be splashed about all over the 'net but I can't see mention of it anywhere else. Can anyone confirm it?
