Pretty much what I expected.. it looks great..!

By in United States,

where's the Scooby Snacks?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love it, but the wheel wells may need some tweaking.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that a STAMP (Stickers Across Multiple Pieces) on the side of the van?

Gravatar
By in United States,

LOVE

Gravatar
By in United States,

Zoinks! Look at all of those stickers!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@canon03 - looks that way, albeit it must be formed of 2x stickers, as it's a hinged section.

It's cute, but the OTT stickers put me off getting it - without them, i don't think it would be recognisable as the Mystery Machine - and I really hate applying the stickers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks like two people can sit up front. I also wish that Velma and Daphne were included.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Stickers will kill this set. :( This should be one brick with print on side.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I start to worry about other sets from thi serries...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Far too many stickers.
But a nice van and nice Scooby.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like the figures and haunted tree. The zombie is really nice, and the Machine looks good. I know it's a lot of stickers, but I can deal with that. The grey hinges on the tree are out of place, but I assume the zombie hides behind the tree.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The zombie is awesome, but like already many others mentioned: the stickers...the horror!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks great, I can't wait to get it. It would have been nice if the whole gang was included, but they new that spreading them out would sell more sets.

I don't get the reaction to the stickers. Yeah I prefer printed pieces more too, but I wouldn't pass on buying a set just because of stickers. Seems silly to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why Lego , are you so insistent as to make it so hard to decide what sets I want to get? Ah well , at least I didn't like SD as much as others have. Looks great but I'll be skipping for that reason above , like other stuff better.

Where's the vomit button?

Not a fan. I didn't know what to expect, but my mind definitely went elsewhere when I heard Mystery machine...

Shaggy looks stoned, which I guess is to be expected, but odd for a children's toy. Fred looks okay. Scooby is decent. The zombie is the winner here. The van is a disappointment.

Maybe it will be better in the brick, but I'm not counting on it. I wonder how the other monsters will look. Those might be all I try to grab from this theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

When I first heard the theme was coming my thoughts were no. But now that I've seen it - Scooby rooby rooooo!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Dang, I just love the Machine! Too bad about the amount of stickers, though. This theme just keeps sounding better and better!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The tree really needs some brown joints, the stickers look excessive and the overhang at the back looks off. But I think they did a really good job on this.

It looks to be the perfect scale for Minifigures and they generally got a really good shape. Shaggy looks good, Fred looks just ok, but they've done Scooby well - accurate enough but still looks like Lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Too many stickers of course. I can see why they do it though; cut down on production costs, and then those pieces are reusable in MOCs. It might be nice since they're uncommon colors.

However, I just received in the mail 75901 Woody and Buzz to the Rescue, and the printed pieces were so nice on that set. I really prefer it that way.

Oh, and if you look closely at the image you can see there are actually two separate stickers. No S.T.A.M.P.s there.

But as a cartoon fan and life-long 'Scooby-Doo' fan, I'm really excited!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stickers? I dont mind one bit. Sure printed would have been better but meh. Now how about that Scooby Doo?!?! I was NOT interested in this series at all. . . until I saw these pictures. Shaggy with his sammich is cool! I will most certainly PAB several pieces to make it as big as they got in the cartoons ;) The tree and zombie are fanatastic and even boring ol Fred looks really good and I like his accessories.

Different strokes for different folks ya know /shrug

By in United States,

Looks great! I don't understand the sticker hate, almost every toy I've ever owned came with stickers or had the stickers pre applied. I guess since I have children now, I'm not as purist and Lego is more fun now as a "toy" rather than a hobby or in my case a previous poly bag, minifig collecting obsession.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

oh goodie don't like the barely LEGO dog, and they had no regrets on putting a obvious stoner figure on a toy? Also the 8 stud wide van looks far too big for LEGO. They should had release the figures using the old belleville/scala molds..

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looking good. I'm in for the Mystery Machine at least. Now let's see the other sets. :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

A definite must-buy! It exceeds my expectations.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really like the set. Will be buying this one to say the least"

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Far to many stickers, bulky building.....
Nothing for me, looks Like the next Toy Story to me

Gravatar
By in Canada,

So this isn't available until Summer, right? Oh the agony of waiting and waiting for Scooby-Doo LEGO. I will have ample opportunity to put money aside for them, unfortunately I'll have to resist spending on other Themes in the meantime which as we all know is not an easy feat.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Love it, could not wish for more looks absolutely brilliant, really don't mind about the stickers was always gunna be part of it

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow very exciting morning indeed. They mystery machine is wonderful and the haunted mansion is great too. I can't wait till august

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Really? The Mystery Mansion has purple as one of the primary colours? I mean I know that psychedelic colours are part of Scooby-Doo, but I don't remember them ever coming across a spooky mansion with colours that matched Daphne's dress so appropriately.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the overall look of the set, unfortunately it just seems to me that the colour choice is a bit off here.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Damn that will be hard lining up all those stickers on the Mystery Machine...
It's quite similar to what my concept was, I would have liked them to slope the upper side of the walls as well as the roof. Maybe that's what my next MOC will be. The minifigures are just like The Simpsons ones which is great. The big set looks really cool as well. Can't wait to see the rest!

By in United States,

Yeah, that looks like a pretty much perfect LEGO version of the Mystery Machine. :P Kinda disappointed that it doesn't come with the entire crew, though. I mean, I get that they want people to buy the expensive sets to get Velma and Daphne, but I would gladly pay a little bit more to get the vehicle with a complete gang.

But, otherwise, I will admit that that is a lot of stickers. Fortunately, I've actually gotten quite good at applying them and, really, what were we expecting? It's probably cheaper to include stickers than print on the parts, and then we can remove the stickers and use the parts for other things, like MOCs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm not sure why some people are referring to that other figure as a "zombie". Honestly, did you learn nothing from Scooby Doo? It's obviously not a zombie. It's the caretaker of the disused funfair on the outskirts of town, or something...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Interesting: according to Hoth Bricks, in French, Shaggy is "Sammy" and Velma is "Vera".

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is fantastic! I couldn't have asked for a better looking Mystery Machine.

Gravatar
By in United States,

And he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love seeing SNOT on sets clearly designed for kids!

Gravatar
By in United States,

HOLY %$^%! That's amazing! Scooby looks a bit weird, but Fred and the zombie are perfect, the machine looks spectacular, and the tree monster is cutely creepy. For $30?! Yeah. That is just... WOW.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Place this next to Ecto-1 and the Delorean, and my childhood is near complete.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks great! I'm quite excited for this theme now.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Too bad it's got so many stickers. I never put any sticker on a model, which usually isn't so much a problem. I guess the Mystery Machine isn't the Mystery Machine without them. However it does look like a mystery without the stickers though. Because in that case it's just another car. Scooby rocks imo!!!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@Cycoduck To complete my childhood I would also love to see the General Lee, Kitt and the van of the A-team. Sounds like a great new theme. TV-series vehicles!

Gravatar
By in United States,

First heard about this theme and was like "You've gotta be kidding me," but man I want that Mystery Machine and the mini-figures actually don't look bad. Maybe this theme will work out, Lego's already stolen whatever that van costs out of my wallet.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Fabulous! Love scooby doo.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I have to ask ...

... does anyone think we'll be getting Scrappy? :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

^You'll know the theme has jumped the shark when we do get a Scrappy.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I'm glad they didn't go down the juniorised path with this set. It looks wonderful! Looks to me a lot of the pieces are printed however there are still too many stickers!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meets most of my expectations.

Gravatar
By in United States,

if lego made a scrappy they wold be jumping the shark.
love the lego mystery machine.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Huw the thread about the licensed themes, you guys mentioned that Scooby Doo had a few different molds for him; I'd wager that the body is the same, but there is a head piece that is connected by a stud or a pin. The body looks the same in this set as it does in the haunted mansion, but scoob's head us at a different angle. Any thoughts on this?

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Looks like another good trip down Memory Lane.

this is definitely another Please Take My Money Already theme for me.

Luckily, I managed to save quite a bit skipping the 2015 wave of sets so far except for the DC ones.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I see stickers on a loop :)
but love them

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Yorick, I believe one is walking, this one, and the other is sitting.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks great, though i think they've missed a trick by not having chima-style heads for the bad guy reveal. Although i think in the newer Scooby Doo cartoons, the villains are often as they seem, paranormal etc as opposed to guys in masks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Greendude, I agree with you about revealing head idea. The mansion's ghost has legs so maybe some are to be revealed.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Now this I like, the van is really detailed for this size, a must have for me.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Oh about the stickers, not an issue for me, you should try some of the technical sets now that's a sticker sheet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally! I've been waiting for this since 2002!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm all for the awesome Mystery Machine... And I love this set overall, but that tree, with all the gray pieces and cylinders, looks quite ugly.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just noticed the article mentions animated content...a new weekly Lego Scooby Doo show? If it has the same self-aware tone as the Lego Superhero movies I'm all for it.

As for the grey hinges on the tree, perhaps it's meant to look odd as on traditional Scooby Doo shows these things were always machines or props or guys in costumes. I'm just giving TLG the benefit of the doubt, I mean they obviously know what colour trees are so the grey seems to be intentional and for a purpose.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It honestly could not be more perfect or adorable. I'll be picking (at least) one up for sure!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This set would not look half as good with out stickers. I do not know why Lego has been relying so heavily on them as of late. I do not use stickers and if you can't get the just of of set with out them then the set is not for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gray in the tree might be there to represent a machine or whatever, but my guess is that just didn't have those color in Brown currently. Similar to how groot has gray on him, but he shouldn't. Certain home pieces don't come in every color.

Also, tlg relies on stickers because they are a play element. This is a kid's toy and kids love stickers. Case closed. (On another note, they also do it for cost saving measures. If every piece was printed, just imagine oror saying how expensive lego would be) which they already do

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looking forward to the Mystery Mansion...does it come with a film projector? :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The tree has grey joints because LEGO doesn't manufacture those parts in other colors. Sort of like Technic pins.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@damien, you got that right. Bring on the General Lee, A-Team van, KITT, the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle, the Green Hornet Imperial and the Munster Coach.
