Double LEGO Insiders points and Tribute to Jane Austen's Books available tomorrow
Posted by CapnRex101,
Double LEGO Insiders points will return from the 19th to 23rd of June, so beginning tomorrow.
In addition, 40766 Tribute to Jane Austen's Books will be available from tomorrow with purchases of $150 USD or more. We do not yet know the threshold for other countries, but will update this article when we do.
There are not expected to be any exclusions to either promotion, so sets released in June will qualify for double points and 40766 Tribute to Jane Austen's Books.

It's sad / angering that most of the June sets aren't releasing until August here in the USA. I would also be willing to bet this promotional set won't be available in August.... this feels like a slap in the face to me.

Hey, promotions like this are to make you buy stuff you don't want, not the stuff you wanted to buy anyway! ;-)

Wouldn't that make them August sets? Loads here from what I can see https://www.lego.com/en-us/categories/new-sets-and-products
A decent GWP and double points
Yes my dear wallet we're doing this again
Double points? :(
I just placed a PAB order last night.

Try calling and cancel it
Always pleasing when double points coincides with a great GWP. Guaranteed happiness all round.
Oh wait... it's the whinge forum!

Not worth the effort for an additional 5% of a $35 order.
Just a minor annoyance.
This is probably known by the majority, but do purchases from the Bricklink program count towards this?

They're usually separate from the promos going on, because of stock availability I think.

You never get GWP with BDP.
Double VIP I'm not sure

I asked and was told they don't see a reason why double points would not apply to BDP. So I pointed out I did not get the double points last time BDP overlapped and they gave them to me manually.
I guess right now it will be the same opportunity again. Feels a bit crazy though to cancel all the BDP order and redo them tomorrow and potentially still have to hunt them down from CS in 6 months.
I've been sitting on a gift card from a 10% off deal last month, I can wait one more day to get some extra points out of it as well.

How much of a hassle is it to cancel a BDP order and reorder the sets again right away? Asking for a friend.
Does pick a brick orders count toward the total? or it is only sets?
Thank you in advance

PAB count but in your case only bestsellers.
Standard PAB usually doesn't count (but sometimes they do because reasons)
This feels like an appropriate time to purchase a book nook.
I'm fine with the fact that the Simpsons GWP was so lackluster, because now I'll get Jane Austen and double VIP with my Krusty Burger.
Time to add 21357 and 21358 to my ever-growing backlog...

Also aiming on 21358, hopefully not on back order as in the US!
This is the first time in years I didn't buy the sets I wanted on June 1st, so it looks like I'm going to be very poor in 24 hours...
So, based on comments here and on BDP pages, there is no definitive answer about double points for a BDP purchase. Does that sound right?
Thinking about getting the Sherlock Holmes set, any recommendations for something I can get to make up the difference?
good treshold, I'll give it a chance.

2X VIP points are bit weird for BLDP as there are 6 months between order and ship. LEGO has also consistently changed how they inconsistently reward you the BLDP VIP points as you usually accrue them once the order ships.

There is no appropriate time to buy those 3 sets. It's a trick. Get an axe.

I often utilize PAB orders to supplement GWP thresholds and have never previously fussed about which kinds of parts they were.

As many BLDP sets have previously been "Buy Right Away or Miss Out", I'm not sure there's a lot of data on purposefully canceling in order to reorder. I ordered my Transylvania right away and didn't mess around with the order, even though I probably should have added a random other set in order to redeem one of my aging VIP redemption codes. I then messed around and did exactly that with the Mushroom and it worked perfectly where I received the Italy postcard and my redemption days later. Personally, I'll probably just leave my Transylvania order alone and put in a PAB request or something for Jane Austen in order to get my next code going.
I don't need Tortuga. I don't need Tortuga. :o)
It seems easy to cancel orders so i may well cancel my Adventure in Transylvania and then reorder it straight away.
Order cancellations
You’ll be able to cancel your order until it reaches the ‘In Warehouse’ status. To find out where your order is in its journey you can check your account page.
If your order includes only pre-order or backorder items, you’ll be able to cancel up to 5 business days before the estimated delivery date. If you missed the cancellation window, you can return your item in exchange for a full refund.
Wow indeed double VIP on BDP time for 910053 to rob me
Just purchased the Balrog and the Viking Village (and the GWP was included of course)

You don't "need " it, but it's sooo fantastic! ;)
@ToysFromTheAttic:
One risk is that if they don’t get the old order cleared out of their system, you’ll be prevented from placing another order if you’ve already hit the max limit.

Since the two sides merged into one system, I’ve never had any OPAB not count towards thresholds.

Just placed an order, both my standard and bestsellers PABs counted toward the threshold (yay! but not always the case - reasons!)
@PurpleDave Don't you still have Standard en bestsellers PAB in the USA?

Yeah, I figured it might be risky. Also, I wonder why is set still not at its max.

That’s not what I was referring to. They used to have one system called Pick-A-Brick, and a completely unrelated system elsewhere on the site called Bricks & Pieces. Many people only used one or the other, likely because they weren’t aware that there were two options, or because they couldn’t find them both. At that time, points and GWPs were inconsistently awarded. Then they merged the two systems into the single OPAB we have today, where parts can be Standard or Bestseller, but everything is ordered through one shopping system. Since that merger, I have never placed a parts order that failed to net any eligible GWP and/or points. I’ve done combined PABS/PABB orders that met the threshold for a GWP, and I’ve split orders up into one PABB order and a separate PABS order that each individually netted the GWP.
@PurpleDave ah I understand, I never used Bricks & Pieces so missed that experience.
You're lucky last year standard parts was completely random if they qualified or not.

Cancel and reorder.
